This 3 bedroom house is roomy and very attractive. We are close to Downtown and to the developing North Woods recreational area with bike trails. Spa City Cycling Shop is less than a block away and our covered deck is great place to store bikes when not out on the bike trails. Beautiful antiques but still comfy cozy. The third bedroom has 2 full size beds. The living room includes a 47" LED TV and a gas fireplace. It also includes a daybed with a trundle. The 2nd bath has a large shower. The kitchen is totally updated with stainless steel appliances. and is fully loaded with every type of utensil for gourmet cooking or just a light meal. There are 3 decks in the park-like back yard. The larger deck is covered and has a big charcoal grill-smoker. A wide ramp makes it wheelchair accessible. It also features a large table for outdoor dining. High speed internet, WIFI, cable TV, HBO, and a blu-ray player makes the cottage technically up todate. Check out our pictures and reviews online.

About Jan

I am a Hot Springs girl who left for college and a career. When I retired from IBM, I jumped at the chance to return to my home town.

Jan purchased this house in 2001

Why Jan chose Hot Springs

Because we have always appreciated the workmanship and unique features of older homes, we bought this wonderful cottage. The home has wide plank original flooring that only needed cleaning to bring back its former glow. The 3 large bedrooms showcase fine antiques reflecting bygone eras. At the same time the great older features were saved, utilities, bathrooms and kitchen were totally upgraded. The back door opens onto a large covered deck with plenty of room for outdoor entertaining with a big charcoal grill/smoker. An overhead fan is a welcome feature during warmer evenings. There are two smaller uncovered decks further back into the park like yard for brisk fall or nights. We especially like being able to use the covered deck during rain showers. The closeness of the home to Hot Springs National Park and Historic Downtown Hot Springs with its great tourist attractions were the biggest reasons for turning our home into a vacation rental. Our guests have enjoyed the cottage so much we are restoring another home in the same area.

What makes this house unique

This home has the best of both worlds. The ceilings are 10' tall and all of the rooms have ceiling fans. Take your morning coffee to the front porch and relax as the clouds float over the mountains in the National Park. Our decks would be worth the stay just to enjoy the wonderful back yard. When you enter the front door, look down and enjoy what flooring looked like 120 years ago. All three bedrooms have 1800's wooden floors. Our modern (retro-looking) baths are brand new and complement the historic nature of the cottage.. What would the original owners think of the Jacuzzi tub in the master bath? We think the modern kitchen would be a marvel for them also!

This property was exactly as described and a very relaxing and convenient location. We used the grill and deck both nights we stayed. Plenty of room for our 6 adults and child. Also within 10 minutes of everything we wanted to see or do. Kitchen is nicely stocked as well as bathrooms. It appears the owners have thought of everything. The decor looks professionally done and is so very charming which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. We will stay here again when in the area!

Daisy's Cottage is located in north Hot Springs in an area known as Uptown Park Avenue. This is an Historic area where many 1800's buildings are still in use. A short walk and you are at our neighorhood coffee shop, Red Light Roastery a small batch craft coffee roastery. While there check out Larkmartin hand made soaps using natural spring water. Bicycle shop 1/2 block away. Enjoy the historic restored homes and beautification making the Park neighborhood bicycle and walker friendly. It's about 1 mile to the National Park and bath house row with all of it's houses, museums, highly rated restaurants, unique shops, spas, brew pub and lots of art galleries. There are plenty of attractions kids and adults will love including an aquarium, magic theater, Gangster Museum, a mining experience where you keep what you find, a Ripley's Believe It or Not and Josephine Tussaud's wax museum.

There are so many other things to see and do, it would take many days to see all that downtown has to offer. Don't forget to ride the ducks. They take you out to the lake (Hamilton) and drive right into the water.

The National Park Service offers guided tours, hikes and lots of other programs geared to visitors . Just check in at the historic national park headquarters on bath house row.

There are 3 major lakes within a 20 minute drive. You can find boat rentals, ski rigs and fishing opportunities at the lakes. Lake Ouachita is ranked as one of the cleanest lakes in the U.S. It is a great lake for snorkeling and scuba. .Of course the Jan-April live racing season at Oaklawn Race Track and Casino. A new and unique family attraction is the FootGolf course next to the golf course. Both courses are only 7 minutes from the cottage.
