Colonial Suites - Beautiful Apartments In Restored 18th Century Colonial Haciend

Bedrooms 2
Space 150 m²
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Two apartments interconnected by a small interior patio

The Space

Recently restored apartments in a colonial 18th century hacienda in the heart of Mexico City's historic downtown district. Just minutes walk away from significant historical sites (Bellas Artes, Latin Tower, Zocalo, National Palace, Cathedral, museums, etc.)

Guest Access

Guests have access to both apartments, each comes with kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and living room/dining room.

Interaction with Guests

My husband and I will be available. We will provide you, if needed, with a cellphone to call us at anytime and anything you may need please do not hesitate to ask!

The Neighborhood

Our apartments are in the historic downtown district (Centro Historico). We are close to many restaurants, cantinas, sites, markets, etc.. The street we are on is only designated for the bus lane so it is very peaceful. We have one bus stop catty corner to our building that runs from our hacienda to the airport directly.

Getting around

Since we are located in the city center we have the bus line in front of our house, the metro two blocks away, and taxi available on any corner.

Many mobile applications to get taxis (Yaxi) or car services (Uber) are available in Mexico City and will pick you up wherever you are.

Check-in: 15:00

Check-out: 12:00

Any check-in after 7pm we charge a $35-$45 usd fee that pays for airport pick up and the driver will do your check-in. The cost depends on size of car you will need for your group.

*After making your booking please send us your itinerary to know when we will meet you at the apartment. Also, due to a new policy we are requiring that all guests arrive with an ID that matches the name on the card used to make the booking that we can photograph for our books.

About Olivia Andrews

Hola! My name is Olivia Andrews and I'm from Charleston, South Carolina. I came to Mexico seven years ago and live in the historic center of Mexico City. I love to meet new people and show them this beautiful city and hope that they love it here as much as I do!

Olivia Andrews purchased this apartment in 2014

Why Olivia Andrews chose Centro Histórico

As a hobby on the weekends, I used to love going inside places in the historic center just to see what was there and stumbled upon this gem! My husband and I fell in love with the place immediately and knew it was impossible to find another place like this one in centro that we had to have it! So we bought four apartments all in the same building.

What makes this apartment unique

The downtown area can be crazy full of events, music, people, shopping and this place is a break from the hectic life of the city and you don't have to go far. I could hear birds chirping when I entered the 18th century stone archways. It is truly an amazing little oasis in the heart of the city.

Clean, close to historic center, cool local casa

  • 5 of 5

The suites were perfect for us. We could walk or catch an uber to anywhere we wanted to go. It was fun feeling like a local. Beds were comfy and decor was clean and cool. Shower and bath water could have been hotter.

Good Location

  • 3 of 5

Very convenient location, with plenty of good restaurants close by. The apartment was charming but austere, and needed more ambient lighting. The living room furniture wasn't comfortable, and the whole space was hard to keep warm. We did find the loft bedroom spacious and the bed comfortable, and we loved the TV projection set-up, although some written instructions for use would have helped. The WiFi connection was fast, but we couldn't get the music system to work. Nice bathroom, but the bath mat needed washing.

Peaceful retreat on the heart of the city

  • 4 of 5

Our second time staying here and it was as enjoyable as the first time. So handy and within short walking distances to so many of the major sites to see in Centro Historico and to the Metro as well. We highly recommend Cplonial Suites as we do to our friends .

Great Place for a Group of Friends

  • 5 of 5

The apartments we stayed in were lovely and well equipped. The building is incredible with lots of history and cool mix of neighbors. When we arrived there had just been a power outage, and Olivia and Victor were working to get everything back in order (internet and lights). They got it all running again in about a day, which was impressive. The apartment is close to everything in "el centro historico," and yet it's quiet! Also, we used Olivia's recommendation for a private driver (Juan Carlos) for airport pickups and a trip to San Angel, Coyoacan and Xochimilco. He is wonderful, so highly recommend spending a little extra to have someone figuring out transportation and giving good advice. This place is perfect for a group of friends since there are two separate spaces that are connected by a little private patio. I can't say enough! It's great! Worth every peso!

Peaceful, lovely apartment in the Centro Historico

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for a week in two apartments on the first floor linked by a tiny interior patio: one for our teenagers, one for us. The apartments were beautiful: clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The street is restricted to buses, so it's not busy like other streets in the area. And the location is great: 5 blocks or so to the Zocalo area in one direction, and the same distance to the Alameda Central in the other. The stove and oven let us prepare our own breakfasts and light dinners. There were a 24-hour convenience store, 24-hour bakery, and a tiny grocery with a small selection of fruits and vegetables right on our street, and a slightly larger grocery around the corner. One of the small pleasures of our stay was our morning walk down the street to the bakery for fresh churros. There's no larger grocery store in the area, however.

Olivia and Victor were excellent hosts, and provided a great folder of information about the area. They live close by, and we could always get in touch with them with any questions or needs.

The best thing about the apartment was its serenity. Mexico City can feel busy and crowded, but we always found peace and quiet the second we walked into the courtyard of the building. The apartment and facilities aren't luxurious or ultra-modern (hence 4 stars instead of 5), but simple, clean and cozy.

Highly Recommended!
