Lovingly restored century farm house with view of the Bay of Fundy. Located in the fishing village of Parkers Cove, ten minutes from Annapolis Royal. A two story restored farmhouse. Two master bedroom suites. First floor master suite, with bay window, has queen bed and full four piece bath. Second floor master suite has double bed, walk in closet, four piece bath, and separate sitting room. 3rd bedroom upstairs has bunk beds. Living room has queen hide a bed.
Huge, fully equipped, kitchen with new stove, refrigerator freezer, and dishwasher. Dining counter with bar stools. Also separate dining table. Sliding door overlooking the yard. Laundry room with washer and dryer off the kitchen.
Lovely front verandah with view of the Bay of Fundy with magnificent sun set views all the way to New Brunswick Please remember this is a very old farmhouse, restored. Very comfortable and "down home". If only two guests, they can use the downstairs and have a very self contained unit and ignore the upstairs extra rooms.
Across the road is a path to the Fundy shore and the rocky beach. .
Ten minutes on Shore Road is a lobster wharf where you can watch the lobster boats go in and out and the famous tides go up and down.. The lobster pound sells fresh lobsters, wonderful fresh scallops, and fresh fish. They also have wonderful lobster rolls and other specials of the day. There is also a new Seafood Restaurant and convenience store another five minutes up the road in Hillsburn. It's so popular that you have to make reservations!
Further down the road is the Dewlaps Cove Wilderness Trail with a lovely hike along the sea cliffs. There is a seasonal waterfall dropping into the bay. An abandoned farm orchard and stone wall are fun to explore.
A bit further is the actual Dewlaps Cove, a unique fishing wharf. This is a must see. You'll marvel at the skill of the lobstermen who can maneuver in and out of this small cove.
The historic and preserved village of Annapolis Royal is ten minutes away on the other side of Parker Mountain. UNESCO has voted this community the most cultural small town of it's size in the world. Wonderful shops, live theater and live music, the best farmers market and crafts market in the Maritimes. A fantastic riverside boardwalk. Lighthouse. Graveyard tour that features a grave of one of Champlain's men stationed at Port Royal.Trip Adivsor rates this the best in Canada. Beautiful formal English Fort Anne with a fantastic walk along the river, roll up and down the steep hills protecting the fort. This is a must for children of any age! The French fort at Port Royal is a small lovely part of history and a great place to picnic. The delights of Annapolis Royal are endless. Don't miss the Farmer and Craft Market on Saturdays. A smaller version is on Wednesdays. It is right across from the haulout, a working boat repair.And don't miss the Historic Gardens, ranked this year as the most outstanding garden in Canada. Wonderful year round.
Further up Shore Road, from the farmhouse, is the hamlet of Hampton with it's restored light house and a wonderful stone beach right next to the working lobster wharf. Than cross the mountain again to Bridgetown and follow the historic walking trail. Visit the pub in the old railway station. Or rent a kayak and tour the river. Farmers Market in Bridgetown on Tuesdays.
