A network of hiking trails starts at the end of our driveway and the beach access is only 500 yards away. To the main town of Ganges, home of the famous Saturday Market, it is a scenic 15 min. drive.

I came from Switzerland to marry my husband on Salt Spring Island over 30 years ago. Enjoy meeting people and hope they fall in love with our island as I did and still do.
This place was fantastic. Thanks for letting us stay here. We had a relaxing time. All the best.
We had a delightful 6-night visit at Eagle's Nest Cottage. Very comfortable, quiet, and great location. The cottage is nicely appointed with everything we needed. We prepared several meals in the fully equipped kitchen, enjoyed the view across the channel to Vancouver Island (until it was obscured by smoke from BC wildfires), picked blackberries just outside the door, soaked in the hot tub, and simply relaxed. Although Monika was away, she made sure her neighbor and daughter checked in with us, so we were well taken care of. So many lovely details: double paned windows, grape vines painted on the concrete floor to disguise some cracks, lots of fluffy towels, plenty of hangers and empty shelves for clothes, fans to cool the rooms, binoculars, board games, an outdoor shower for the hot tub, gas grill, plenty of good kitchen tools and even a roll of plastic wrap. We would happily recommend this cottage to anyone, anytime.
Absolutely love staying here! So peaceful. Thanks again Monika.
SALT SPRING POLLUTED BY PULP MILL SMOKE STACK EMISSIONS RIGHT ACROSS THE WATER - DIRTY COTTAGE
We were looking forward to a nice weekend on Salt Spring, and for the price we expected Eagle’s Nest cottage to at least be clean. The view is spectacular - but the all the windows were smeared by previous guests (their kids + dogs) and hadn’t been cleaned - so NO VIEW. The dirty/gritty and cracked concrete floors hadn't been vacuumed and the carpets were dirty too. The furnishings were MOTEL-GRADE CHEAP – definitely low rent. The love seat upholstery had sticky stains and looked like other dogs had slept there. There’s no coffee table. A previous guest had exploded some food in the microwave (yuck) – a HEALTH HAZARD which should have been cleaned before we arrived. No one paying that kind of money should have to clean house, wash windows or dishes for the owners.
The wood burning stove was full of ashes from previous use – there were no fireplace tools to mange burning wood – so a real fire hazard.
These people were too cheap to spring for a box of Kleenex. There were no pillow cases on the only 2 useable pillows and no top sheet on the bed. We had to call twice to get some proper linens and have the place swept out.
Worst of all the location is directly across from CATALYST PULP MILL at Crofton - when the wind changes during the day it reeks - and it stank all night - every night even with the windows closed. This “chemical air” pollutes the entire west coast along the island facing Crofton. While Salt Spring is always a nice adventure – wineries, cheese factories and glass works – art galleries and boutiques galore – Eagles’ Nest Cottage is surely a “must to avoid” - for the price a real rip-off.
We had such an amazing and super relaxing time at Monika's lovely cabin. The hot tub was so nice to unwind at the end of our day.
The cottage is clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and well-managed. There is a beautiful view westward to the Pacific and to Vancouver Island beyond. Amenities exceeded our expectations. The place is a good base for seeing the rich culture, atmosphere, and beauty of Salt Spring Island.
We loved the cabin, it's so cozy! The outdoor hot tub and shower were great, especially after hiking the Channel Ridge Trails which are accessible right at the end of driveway. We had a great time and highly recommend staying here! Thanks Monika!
