Located in the heart of the Beartooth Mountain Range just off the Chief Joseph HWY (296),(Crandall Rd.), just 24 miles to NE Entrance to Yellowstone Park (Silvergate). Just 58 miles NW of Cody, WY. From here you have perfect day trips to experience the Old West.
To the south east lies Cody where you can enjoy the world acclaimed Buffalo Bill Museum or take in a night rodeo, and enjoy the taste of an authentic western town.
To the NW is the NE Entrance to Yellowstone Park and the famous Lamar Valley, home to our wolf packs and buffalo. On the way, visit the old historic mining town of Cooke City, MT and enjoy the Teton like views of Pilot & Index.
To the NE, you will travel the acclaimed Beartooth Hwy with it's mountain sheep, glacier lakes, and spectacular views on your way to Red Lodge, MT. There you will find a charming western town. Stop for lunch or enjoy a hometown brew.
From your cozy bunkhouse you can hike the Lewis and Clark trail, see waterfalls, view the Osprey nests, fish the Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone River (Wyoming's only Designated WILD River), or take a trail ride. A photographer's paradise. Check out this YouTube video taken by one of our guests this spring (2017) https://youtu.be/7MvZunv3PIE.
People travel here to enjoy hundreds of alpine lakes, three mountain ranges, back country trails, scenic byways, and an abundance of wildlife.
Family property since the 40's. Doug spent many summers on this land enjoying the wilderness.
If you ever wanted to live in Yellowstone Park, then you should stay in our Bunkhouse Room. By the way, we are closer to Yellowstone Park than Cody.
One of a kind vacation experience.
Doug and Karen are amazing hosts -- so friendly and so accommodating!
The setting of their home is gorgeous. The room is beautifully decorated and very well equipped -- and so is the outdoor kitchen. FIRST CLASS! We loved the quietness of this place and despite it's remote setting, had no problem finding it at all with the google maps app.
If we could give them more than 5 stars, we would certainly do so!
Thanks and God bless you, Doug and Karen, for enhancing our vacation!
had to cut our stay one day short because of weather (snow). the bunkhouse was great and we enjoyed our stay. we would have liked to enjoy more time in the outdoor kitchen. owners were very friendly and helpful as to what to see and how there
Charming and very comfortable room that is very well appointed. Doug and Karen made us feel right at home in their home. They have tastefully finished the room in a western cabin theme and a comfortable bed. Located near the Beartooth Highway, Cooke City and the NE entrance of Yellowstone makes for easy access to the beauty of this area for hiking and sightseeing. I would recommend this place for anyone that wants something off the beaten path and not just a hotel room.
Big thank you to Doug & Karen (and Callie) for sharing their gorgeous cabin and grounds with us! We felt so honored to stay with them & their lovely family! We ended up leaving a little early only because we were spending our remaining time on the opposite side of the park. Till next time!

We had a wonderful time at the home of Doug and Karen. They were such gracious hosts and really do take care of their beautiful log home. When we asked about buying some trout at the local store, they just gave us some of their own and we had a wonderful dinner! The rustic out door cooking facility and hot tub were fantastic. It worked out perfectly for driving into Yellowstone being that it is just outside the Northeast entrance. When we got up early to drive into the park, some of the best views and wildlife sightings were to be found on the drive before we even entered the park.
Thank you so much for the great experience and especially your hospitality!

My son and I enjoyed staying at your bunkhouse. It was a great central location for all of our western fly fishing adventures. We would consider staying again for sure.
