Enjoy the ever changing beauty of the Malaspina Straight and nearby Texada Island from this recently built off-the-grid cottage. This cottage was carefully integrated into a 100 foot stretch of marine shoreline, maintaining shoreline vegetation and maximizing wildlife use. Bald eagles roost immediately above the cottage and fish in the bay below that hosts a myriad of seabirds as well as dolphins, otters and occasional orcas. Access is available to a rocky shore below, where you can swim in the pleasant bay waters. The 1800 square foot cottage on 3 acres offers two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, each of which has access to a deck overlooking the ocean. There is a California king sized bed in the master and queen size in the second bedroom - both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The living area is open and well designed combining a large modern kitchen with the adjacent dining and living room space. The inland side of the house offers a large brick patio that is sunny and peaceful, and looks out at magnificent Doug firs and madrone trees. Hiking or mountain biking is available immediately up Middlepoint Road into Crown forest land, as well as numerous other hikes to the north and south in adjacent provincial parks such as picturesque Francis Point or the famous Skookumchuck rapids. A well stocked market, pharmacy, as well as restaurants and coffee houses are located just 3 km north of the cottage in Pender Harbor.
