Quiet and comfortable
Beautiful location, great if you are looking for peace and tranquility.
Comfortable beds and nice linens, the owner was very easy to talk to and offered to help if we had any questions.
Small feedback for improvement.
Personally I would have liked a dining table, kitchen could be updated and the floor in the bedrooms were squeaky when walked on in the night, very minor issues.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to visit again.
Clean, easy to find overall great place to stay
I’d definitely rent this place again! The owners answer any questions needed and the place was clean and has a home feeling for the days stayed!
Wonderful Stay in Kaleden
We just loved this cozy cottage in Kaleden. Everything was perfect. Sparkling clean, great beds, and a perfect and beautiful location. Wonderful privacy! We did not have a chance to meet Lorna, but her communication was top notch. We are happy to recommend this lovely cottage and we would return in a heartbeat. Thanks so much for everything!
Thank you Leslie, we would love to have you again!
Beautiful location, but not clean
I want to preface my review by saying Bruce & Lorna seem like perfectly nice people. The cottage is perfectly situated on a beautiful rural property. The location really is ideal. However, I assume that a busy tourist season, and the fact that they are trying to sell their property resulted in some negligence in the care of our rental.
I discovered excrement on the toilet seat prior to first use, and gross soap scum covered the tub and walls, forcing me to bleach the bathroom myself. We had to wash all dishes prior to use, due to grease and food particles. And stains, grime, dirt all over walls, doors, light switches, and bug-filled cobwebs inevitably left me frustrated. I cleaned as best I could, but could not get comfortable. Cleaning my vacation suite upon checking in isn't my idea of relaxation.
I complained and was informed they'd never had problems with their housekeeper in the past, and offered us a refund if we wanted to leave, which we couldn't. Maybe this was a case of simple lackadaisical cleaning, and little to no oversight.
Lorna did present us with a bottle of wine and some farm-fresh eggs as we were leaving (for our troubles), but it was a little too late. I didn't ask for anything in return, I doubt there was anything that could have been done to alleviate our frustrations, but an attempt would've been nice.
Thank you for the stay, and I'm sorry it wasn't what either of us had hoped for.
I believe my cleaners may have missed a couple of things, I offered to reimburse Anastasia. Extremely high standards, maybe more suited to a 5 star hotel? Ironically they checked out late which did not give my cleaners much time to get the cottage ready for the next guests.
This is the second time I’ve been here. It is perfect for our needs. It also just happens to be three K from Canada’s largest radio telescope which held an open house this weekend. A big bonus.
Thomas: It was a pleasure having you return to stay in our cottage, glad you enjoyed your stay and the open house!
Nice get away from city life
Very nice cottage, quiet, and clean. Owners are very kind and friendly. Thanks to them letting kids to meet animals. Definitely we are going to stay there again.
Our cottage is located very close to many wineries, the Okanagan Valley is famous for its wine. Osoyoos, Oliver, Ok Falls, Kaleden, Penticton, Naramata, Summerland and Peachland are all within 1 hours drive from our place, each location has its own wineries. We are very close to Skaha Lake which has several beaches and the KVR trail for biking and walking. Hiking trails off the property and at White Lake Observatory, all areas are dog friendly, off leash.
