Perfectly located a block from the Eastern Market Metro, a block from the Eastern Market and steps to all the Great Restaurants of 8th Street!

You will love being able to walk the 10 minutes to the U. S Capitol, the House and Senate Office buildings and all the Mall then come then come back to a quiet neighborhood home and relax in the rear patio.

Fully furnished, spacious executive home with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths on the 2nd floor. En-suite Master bedroom suite has large closets and spacious walk in shower. There are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other a full bed and an additional full bath. A full size front loading washer and dryer is up there as well.

Downstairs the Kitchen is outfitted with Amish made cabinetry and granite counter tops. My home is decorated with design and comfort in mind throughout.

Open plan Dining Room/Living room lead to French doors that open to a large back patio and garden with a Grill, perfect for outdoor relaxing.

8 blocks or less from the US Capitol, Senate office buildings, Library of Congress and the Supreme Court. Easy walk to the Mall, the Monuments and the Smithsonian museums. Pentagon, Arlington, Dupont Circle and Georgetown are a quick and easy commute via Metro or the incredibly popular BikeShare program!

Why Bob chose Eastern Market

This is a 'newer' property, built in the 60's (that would be the 1960's not 1860's with great design bones. For me it was all about the location but walking in and seeing the sun streaming thru the east facing French doors to the back garden... I was hooked at first sight.

What makes this townhome unique

Can not possibly be a more convenient location. An easy walk down 'The Hill' (and Metro back UP) to spend the day at the museums and sights. Visit at the Nations Capitol and all the world class museums then return back to a village setting with restaurants and small town convenience.

Such a great neighborhood, Eastern Market for old fashioned Merchant Stall shopping (Butcher, Bakery, Cheese Monger, Seafood, Pasta vendor, Vegetables), an Organic Supermarket 2 blocks South ('Yes' Organics). Walk to either of 2 artisan coffee shops or a Starbucks or even a Dunkin Donuts a block away. The true 'Heart' of our community is the weekly Arts/Crafts and Farmers Market on Sat & Sun. Everyone at least walks thru the stalls to see what the world has on offering and to catch up with the neighbors over coffee and fresh donuts or the famous Blueberry Pancakes at the Market Lunch in Eastern Market.. be adventurous.. try the Scrapple!

There are over 2 dozen places to eat on the blocks of Pennsylvania Ave and on Barracks Row, Gastro Pubs, Sports Bars, Restaurants, Oyster Houses, gelatto, cupcakes, sidewalk cafe, rooftop beer gardens you won't be able to sample them all in one visit. But best of all, every time you come 'Home' you get to see the Capitol Dome just a few blocks away letting you know you are truly in DC.

Well equipped, wanting for nothing. We did a fair amount of cooking and found everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of pillows, the towels were fluffy.

We especially appreciated the Smart Cards and made good use of them. As well as the "Washington DC Info Center" - severl of the pieces came in very handy.

Very nice home

We rented this home to enjoy 5 days in the D.C. area. The house was very nice, clean and well supplied. It is located in an excellent area to get to the metro. We walked to the Capitol area and used the Metro to get to the farther end of the mall. We had someone who had an injured knee, otherwise you could have walked everywhere. The Metro system is great and people were very helpful as we learned the system. It was very nice that they provided Metro cards that we could just add money to. I was glad we could rent the parking spot behind the house. There were plenty of restaurants around to choose from. The only heads up I would give is that only the master bath has an outlet. With three women using haircare products that needed an outlet and a mirror, we did a little juggling with the master bathroom. I certainly would rent this home again. The owner was also very good at responding to questions.

Perfect gem, great weekend

Very comfortable home in a super Eastern Market neighborhood. We were a party of five looking for a combination of privacy/personal space with a comfortable area to gather and chat as a family...this place fit the bill perfectly. It was clean (THE most important thing), convenient to necessities (Trader Joes, CVS, metro stop and many great restaurants are very close by), and the Easten Market ‘market’ is less than a block away. Booking, check in and check out was smooth and easy. Owner very responsive to emails. For a fun restaurant experience, try Ambar on 8th Street (Balkan tapas).

Great spot with plenty of restaurants close by.

We really enjoyed this comfortable three bedroom home. The furnishings were nice, it was comfortable and it was truly close to everything you need. We walked to dinner every night. There was Wonderfull Italian, American and Greek food, all just up the street, not to mention Trader Joe's and Starbucks. Some blackout blinds in the front and rear bedrooms would be nice, as the new apartment building across the street has spotlights that light up the front bedroom, but otherwise, clean and comfortable.

Owner's Response: Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay - and found some of the great restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I hope you realized that the double walled cellular shades thru out the house are top down and bottom up. Your group was so tidy it didn't appear you even moved the blinds.

Great location and property.

Wonderful home base to explore tourist sites and enjoy local restaurants. Comfortable, clean and airy. Back yard looked quite inviting to enjoy a sip, but weather didn't cooperate... next time. Bourbon Cafe is a sure bet for coffee and breakfast, and Cava Mezze is a tasty small-plate Greek restaurant on 8th St.

Homey home away from home

This Home was great at the end of busy days of sightseeing. The metro was very close and even accommodated a rented handicap scooter for an injured member of our party. The Eastern Market was just around the corner and great for purchasing fresh fruits and veggies, fresh eggs and bread...even freshly made paninis and yummy soup. The weekend at the market moth more produce, crafts and other goodies were fun. On those nights we ate out there were abundant choices within 2-5 blocks. Very convenient location. Comfortable surroundings and very clean and orderly. Bob was a great host and has even offered to mail a forgotten sweater to me. Nice experience.

Great location and great house!

Great central location within walking distance to the Capitol and many nearby restaurants and shops. A very comfortable place to come to in the evening after s busy day in the city. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Minutes from both local and National landmarks. Base your visit in a warm and vibrant neighborhood location yet be only a few minutes walk to the Capitol and the National Mall. There are numerous grocery stores, restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The area is indeed a 'Walkers Paradise" and even has two racks of bright red CitiBike public bicycles a block from the door. This is a comfortable and well-appointed family friendly historic house that even has a back patio and grill.
