Nestled between the Sapphire Mountain Range and the picturesque Bitterroot Mountains, Alpine Meadows Range sits in the gorgeous southern end of the Bitterroot Valley. It encompasses 210+ private, serene acres of open pasture and Ponderosa Pine Tree forests. The ranch is adjacent to the Bitterroot National Forest which backs up to the 1.3 million acre Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. Abundant trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and ATVs traverse the ranch and surriounding area. The Bitterroot River and its cold, clear tributaries offer some of the best fly fishing opportunities in the country. White water rafting is available one hour away on the North Fork of the Salmon River.

Wildlife is abundant in the area. Elk, moose, deer, hawks, eagles and wild turkey are among the viewing possibilities.

The surrounding area offers a multitude of destinations and activities including- sapphire panning, rodeos, Native American and Western storytelling, Lewis and Clark travel information, guided full moon walks, ATV and snowmobile guided tours, wildlife viewing, ghost towns, geo-caching, wildlife refuges, Celtic celebration in August, Logger Days in July, and numerous music festivals.

Golf: There are two golf courses nearby. The public 18 hole Hamilton course is a 20 mile drive and the private Stock Farm on the Marcus Daly estate is also approx. 20 miles away.

Ski: Downhill skiing and sledding are available at Lost Trail Powder Mountain, famous for family skiing at reasonable prices with excellent snow conditions, 45 minutes south of the ranch. Cross country skiing is available on the ranch. The best groomed cross country trails in Montana are found at Chief Joseph Cross Country Ski Area, a few minutes from Powder Mountain. Snowmobile rentals and guided tours are also popular in the area. In the town of Darby, a small, free ice skating rink welcomes all visitors.
