Overview

About the property

3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, 1.5 story log home nestled in the woods and close to town

An incredible combination of being close to nature and close to downtown Sandpoint, Lake Pend O'reille, Schweitzer Resort and all the activities. From this private wooded sanctuary, it is an easy 4.5 mile drive along a residential road to the downtown shops, dining and City Beach.

Perfect 'cabin-in-the-woods' setting with 5 acres of beautiful mature trees, a trail to a pristine creek, and lots of wildlife. The expansive decks and covered porch are ideal for listening to the creek, barbecuing, soaking in the hot tub, enjoying campfires, or lounging in the sun. No other homes are visible from the yard, which enhances the feeling of privacy.

This cozy home has plenty of room for relaxing, dining and spending time together. The great room contains recliners, sofa, a glass-front wood stove, and a 6-seat dining table. There is another 6-seat table in the kitchen. There is a main floor bedroom with queen bed and attached bathroom and the loft holds two sleeping areas and a half bath. One upstairs bed area has a queen log bed and twin bed. The other bed area has a twin bed and a twin log bunkbed.

Whether you spend your day adventuring around the area, hiking, shopping, dining, boating, skiing, or simply relaxing and not going anywhere, this home offers a wonderful feeling of comfort and beauty.

Please note that as this is intended as a peaceful getaway, there is no television or internet at the cabin. There is cell phone service. During winter months, a four-wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended.

About Lisa Rosauer

We have lived in far north Idaho near the Canadian border for ten years, coming via Alaska and the midwest (Go Packers!). We have built two of our own log homes. We love this area and all it has to offer. We particularly enjoy hiking with our dogs, Telemark and cross- country skiing, snowmobiling, and paddling. Jim builds log furniture (featured in the cabin) and plays the banjo and guitar. Lisa has done extensive backcountry travel in the region, loves to garden and hike with the dogs.

Lisa Rosauer purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Lisa Rosauer chose Sandpoint

This cabin is located in such an ideal place. It is surrounded by about everything there is to enjoy about the Sandpoint area. The cabin and property have a really great vacation vibe. We feel it is a great place to share with others who appreciate the area.

What makes this cabin unique

Sitting on the deck and listening to the creek and the birds in the dappled sunlight.... cozying up to a warm fire in the woodstove after a fall hike...maximizing the long summer days with a late evening campfire and s'mores.... making waffles for breakfast!...soaking in the hot tub after a long day skiing at Schweitzer resort...giving the kids a chance to sleep in a log bunkbed...biking into town for the day to shop and dine...strolling down to the creek to look for birds...the list goes on...

Great getaway! Very quaint and private. Excellent place to spend quality time with family!

  • 5 of 5

We started off by meeting Lisa upon our arrival, she showed us around and made sure we had all questions answered. She’s very kind and helpful. The cabin/property is very beautiful with the snow all around. We did some cross country skiing, listened to a lot of Harry Potter audio tapes, and played many games. It’s a very romantic cabin with the hot tub, wood stove, and lack of tv. The well stocked kitchen allowed for some amazing dishes. We would love to stay here again. Thanks Lisa,

Chris + Hannah

A beautiful, peaceful mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

Lisa couldn't have done anything to enhance the quality of this beautiful, peaceful mountain retreat. I have stayed in many vacation rentals and B&Bs and I have also managed a 5-star B&B. My standards are high and I see details that others might not. This sweet cabin definitely met my standards. It is furnished with everything one might need, including basic condiments and spices, standard toiletry items, firewood/kindling, games, books, maps, plenty of towels, and clean quality bedding. The fireplace was great for heating and ambiance. The hot tub was incredibly relaxing and situated with a view of the forest. It is proximal to the amenities of Sandpoint, but is definitely rural and quite peaceful. As a family of five, we were quite comfortable and had plenty of space to settle in and relax. There is one fully private bedroom and a large loft with two semi private sleeping areas. As others have noted, the upstairs toilet is a little sluggish, but this is the only thing about this cabin that I would come close to criticizing. This is a lovely space and Lisa is a lovely host!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. I am happy to report that, as of yesterday, we have finally resolved the upstairs toilet issue, and it is much improved. Lisa

The log cabin felt perfect for the winter holidays with a couple feet of snow and Christmas lights!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our family time at the cabin. It was the perfect snow covered cabin to get away too right before Christmas! It was well decorated for the holidays. Lisa also had the cabin prepared for us to feel just right at home upon our arrival! Our family and dogs were able to relax and play with all the accomendations the cabin provided. We hope to some day come back and share the cabin with other friends and family. Thank you Lisa for being a kind and inviting host!
