A beautiful hideaway

  • 4 of 5

An amazing experience to wake every morning looking out over the Sea and watching the sea lions and seals passing so close to us. The cabin was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything you could need. The hot tub was a real luxury after a busy day out sightseeing, and the view of the Milky Way at night was stunning. I've only given four stars because the cabin is very close to the road and the traffic noise and headlights at night stopped it being absolute perfection, it came pretty close though.

A Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about this property -- the house, the view, the hot tub, and the privacy. We happened to spend time there when the weather was hot, dry, and sunny and the views across the Strait were stunning. We loved watching the sunrise and the sunset during the day as well as the moon and starlit skies at night.

The house is near lots of beautiful beaches and hikes such as Mystic Beach and Botanical Beach. We also loved walking out onto Whiffen Spit. We also rented a tandem kayak and spent a few hours out on the water. We used a company called Rush Adventures and had lunch out on the deck at Stickleback Eatery afterwards. If you want a delicious meal, check out Wild Mountain Food and Drink or take a drive up to Point, No Point. We also ate at Route 14 - twice!

Working with the owner, Mike, was great. We actually had a chance to meet him for a few minutes, and he was super helpful.

The best part of staying here is that you can actually slow down, relax, and appreciate the beauty that is all around you. This is a very special place.

Fall in love with your spouse again.

  • 5 of 5

It was as secluded as the picture. Great studio cabin. Loved the hot tub view & wildlife. Saw Orcas, seals, jellyfish, cranes & quails. If your planning on just exploring the south end of the island the location is great. Lots of hiking to enjoy. 15 minutes away from town so bought groceries every other day as cabin only has bar fridge. We brought in our suitcase a collapsed cooler. Spices & go cups. Bring a fuzzy house coat as the wind can be cool on deck & great to slip on after hot tub. Go cups great for morning coffee in the hottub & cocktails in the evening. Very peaceful & you could see the fog roll in & hear the fog horns. Loved it will go back when I just want to relax & not be on the go being a tourist. Cell & Internet service was not good & there was no TV. It was perfect no electronic interference great to be off the grid for a week. LOVED IT

Wanted to stay forever!!!

  • 5 of 5

This property was more beautiful than all the pictures! It was just right for two people! We stayed on the front porch more than anywhere. The view is unbelievable! We enjoyed watching the sunrise, the fishing boats, and the fog bank in the mornings. We loved the hot tub. It was so private! We saw otters, seals and diving birds! The owner was nice and suggested a great restaurant in town! Anyone would LOVE this place.! We use VRBO a lot and this is by far our very favorite!👍 Forgot --- saw cruise ships at night.

Fantastic stay at cozy, clean cabin with incredible view

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and absolutely loved it. It was comfortable, clean, and beautifully situated on the bluff overlooking the straits. The owner was very responsive by email as well, and provided recommendations for the area.

It has minimal kitchen appliances but there is enough to make do, with pots/pans, a barbecue, and plenty of hot-tub friendly plastic cups. We loved our stay here, and are already planning to go back.

Sooke itself had a lot to offer as well. Highly recommend!

Dreamy seaside cabin

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here, and wished we could have stayed longer. The location is as beautiful as the pictures imply, and the whole place is set up so that there are plenty of places to relax and take in the view. The house is comfortable, cute and clean. The kitchen is not a full kitchen (as detailed in the posting) -- just a microwave and a hot plate, but it's well stocked with glasses, dishes, etc. The bed was comfortable and has a curtain for privacy since the place is set up studio style and the whole seaside facing portion is basically a big lovely window. We used the hot tub every evening, watched the boats, even heard whales spouting from the porch one night. Seriously could not recommend more highly.
