Camp Inches is a quiet, relaxing vacation spot located right off a country road in the charming, rural town of Danbury NH. Tall pines, mountain ridges and local farms will surround you. Danbury is also the home of Ragged Mountain, which is located a few minutes drive from Camp Inches. Cardigan Mountain is a short drive, also stunning Newfound Lake, known as "the cleanest lake in New Hampshire" ! Once there, you'll find Wellington State Park with it's scenic sandy beach, picnic tables and boating access for fishing and canoeing.

Spectacular mountain views include Ragged Mountain, Mt. Cardigan (15 mins), with it's peak at 3,155 feet, and a 360 degree view, Mount Kearsarge (30 mins) that boasts 2 state parks, Winslow and Rollins. Tenney Mountain (30 min), Mount Sunapee (30min) Gunstock, Loon and Waterville Valley resorts an hour ride.

Motorcyclists will love to ride along gorgeous scenic routes!! Camp Inches is only a 30 minute drive to Lake Winnipesauke then on to Laconia and Weirs Beach. Bike Week rents out well in advance of the event, so it's first come -- first serve! Be sure to book early!

Wine lovers will enjoy a trip to visit Danbury's own Haunting Whisper Winery! Wine tasting is encouraged.

The 48-mile hard packed Northern Rail Trail, which is the longest recreational-use trail in New Hampshire is accessible from the center of town in Danbury. Bring you bicycles, running and walking shoes. In the winter months it's open to snowmobilers.

You kids will love a trip to the Polar Caves in Rumney, Profile Falls in Bristol, Sculptured Rocks in Hebron and my personal favorite is Patten Brook Pony Rides, 420 Washburn Road, Alexandria where Jenny Tuthill provides rides for youths on her gentle Icelandic horses.

Close to Camp Inches, 3.7 miles is one of the best local country stores in NH, The Danbury Country Store. Voted #1 in the state of NH by WMUR voter results in 2018,2019 and 2020. A wide variety of groceries, homemade foods, great pizza and incredible homemade desserts. Gifts and toys too!! Family owned and run. You'll be sure to love it as much as we do!

A scenic drive on Route 104 to Bristol, (10 miles) is where you'll find Walkers Farm and Hannaford Supermarket. Once in Bristol you'll find restaurants, bars, Rite-Aid, a Dunkin Donuts and much more. Be sure to visit the popular Profile Falls on the Smith River and don't forget your bathing suits!

Historic New London (15 miles) is a unique college town and home of Colby- Sawyer College. New London is surrounded by magnificent mountains and lakes. Camp Inches:
You will hear the Wild Meadow's babbling brook which runs the length of the property, while you take in the sights and sounds of nature. You'll have your very own private water hole and waterfall surrounded by a fully screened, lighted porch which overlooks the waterfall and swimming hole. This magical space allows you to enjoy the great outdoors from dusk to dawn! Want to "rough" it? A comfortable double futon is on the porch that can sleep a lucky 2, guaranteeing the most relaxing night's sleep you've ever had!

A large, open grassy field where you can play yard games or just relax by the stream. Take pleasure sitting under the stars around a roaring camp fire with your family and friends while you listen to the babbling brook.
I have an additional 9 acres of meadow land that's located across the road and available for your exploration and enjoyment! Cut trails will lead you to enjoy more of the Wild Meadows Brook and a sandy beach. Turkey, bear, moose and an abundance of other wild life thrive there, so stay sharp!

Camp Inches rustic interior provides that authentic country ambiance and we have five sliding glass doors through out the home for your viewing pleasure that brings the outdoors right inside.
A fully equipped kitchen includes an island and has all new appliances. For the chef, kitchen utensils galore with spices and condiments at your fingertips! An open concept keeps everyone involved and interacting during meals. Dining area seats 8 and the breakfast bar 3. There's a Weber grill for your outdoor cooking right outside.

Our great room doubles as the third bedroom. This is my favorite room in the house and connects directly to the screened porch. I decided to set it up this way so everyone could enjoy this room. It has 2 couches, one pullout for sleeping. A wooded cathedral-style ceiling with two skylights and a ceiling fan. A flat screen TV , with Direct TV. An 8 foot sliding glass door that leads you to the screened porch. Views of the brook while seated on the couch are an added pleasure.

A cozy sunken living room is right off the kitchen. This room boasts another wooded cathedral ceiling with a ceiling fan. Another 8 foot sliding glass door just steps to the brook. A flat screened TV that includes Direct TV, Netflix and a futon that sleeps two.

Bedrooms: The first bedroom is off the kitchen and has a queen bed facing a 6ft glass slider with your own private deck and entrance. It also has a nice view of the forest and brook. The second bedroom is the master, which is down the hall past the bathroom. This room is spacious with a queen bed and a trundle bed that sleeps two. This room has a private entrance too.

Amazing property
We all had an amazing stay at Camp Inches! Jody was a great host- so helpful and gave up so many great recommendations. The house was spacious and clean- we especially appreciated the kitchen and how well stocked it was as we enjoy cooking! We would definitely stay there again!

Great vacation spot
We really enjoyed our weeklong stay at Camp Inches. The house was clean and had plenty of room (there were five of us). The screened in porch is a wonderfully relaxing spot near the brook. There are also lots of other porch areas outside for eating and relaxing. I spent some time sitting in the sun on the front patio, watching a hummingbird visit all the flowers. The kitchen had new appliances and plenty of pots and pans for cooking. The location of the house is ideal as it's an easy drive to several fun destinations. We went to Profile Falls in Bristol and Newfound Lake. We also did a day trip to Mount Washington (took the cog railway up!) and another day to Quechee, VT. Jody was a wonderful host, as she was very responsive to any questions we had, as well as being a wealth of information about the area. Whether you are looking for a spot to just relax or a home base to explore the area, this is a great home.

Wonderful Family Vacation
We had a fabulous two week family getaway at Camp Inches. Jody was a perfect host and communicated very well via text- answering all questions and offering many great ideas for family outings. She connected us with a local friend who has a pony farm and our children had an amazing time learning to ride the horses. We loved nearby Newfound Lake and Bristol, as well as exploring the lake region and New London; but some of our best memories were right at the house. We enjoyed walking in the babbling brook picking out rocks along the property. We made fires in the fire pit and had s’mores. The beautiful lawn was a perfect run around space. The spacious porch was a relaxing spot to rock the baby in the rocking chair each evening to the sound of the waterfall. The kitchen was the best organized and stocked kitchen I’ve ever used on a vacation- it was actually a pleasure to make big family meals and felt like a home away from home (though mine is not as organized!) As kids will be kids, we had a few marks on the table and Jody was very kind to say she could fix it right up. The WiFi was excellent, good airflow with big French doors and fans and some AC units in spaces, laundry was helpful, trash and recycling were cleared for us- pretty much anything you need was there! We felt very comfortable and enjoyed some wonderful family bonding time. We highly recommend this lovely family home and hope to return again. Thanks so much Jody!

This is the definition of vacation!
Camp Inches was pure joy and summer for our family! This is the perfect getaway house and location to get away and relax. We have 3 young kids and they spent hours looking for frogs, swimming in the water hole and exploring the beautiful nature all around. We did go hiking and local blueberry picking but the whole family just wanted to return to the house! It was the favorite part of our trip. Nighttime brought picturesque camp fires and grilled dinners on the back patio. The screened in porch was my favorite spot for morning coffee overlooking the brooke and listening to the peaceful sounds of nature. At night the porch lit up with tiny lights and was magical. Jody was super helpful with recommendations and I’ve already told all my friends this is the spot to go!!!

Why they chose this property

This is a treasured family property, handed down through 2 generations

What makes this property unique

I fell in love with Camp Inches because of it's rustic charm, unique layout and peaceful location. I am especially drawn to the proximity of the Wild Meadows Brook to our home. The waterfall into the swimming pool is unique and sets Camp Inches apart from other homes. Even with the windows closed, you can hear the babbling brook!! It's so soothing and relaxing. Camp Inches has five sliding glass doors that bring the outdoors right in and I love to walk our Wild Meadow (9 acres) with my standard poodle Abby. Most of it is open meadow and the brook abuts the length of that property too.
