Little Cabin ~ Rustic, Affordable, Family Friendly (Walking Distance to Lake)

Bedrooms 1
Space 240 sq ft
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Rustic 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 400 yards from lake

This property is located on 17 beautiful wooded acres next to Douglas Lake. It is owned by Mountain Lake Resort, which has other buildings including a huge log cabin lodge with 8 bedrooms that sleeps up to 64, a hotel with 16 rooms that sleeps up to 64, and a large bunkhouse with 1 large room that sleeps up to 18. These venues are perfect for wedding parties, church groups & retreats, family reunions, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc.

The little wooden cabin is away from the hustle and bustle of town and it is less than 400 yards from the lake. It is a great place to go for walks, fish, swim, or bird watch. The cabin has a small front porch to sit and read a book or just enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. Inside there is 1 queen sized bed on the lower level and a twin mattress in the loft (small crawl space really only suitable mattress for kids), 1 bathroom, and a small functional kitchen. The cabin comes with a fan, small air conditioning unit, and a portable heater, a TV/DVD player but no cable so bring DVDs. This cabin can accommodate 2 people on the bed and 1 kid upstairs in the loft for a total of 3. This facility is a smoke-free, alcohol-free facility.

Why Betty chose Dandridge

This property is great in that it is close to all the fun activities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Dollywood. It's also close to marinas for those who wish to rent boats etc. We do have lake access but NOT lake frontage and our access area is open to the public as it is a county road, 1/4 mile walk from the ranch, and NOT our property so we apologize for any trash found there but it is what it is. It's more of a fishing area and since TVA has cut back on employees, they do not monitor it as much as they should. Shoes a must if you wish to swim as you may run into a fish hook or broken glass. The beach area is straight across the lake from there, but since Douglas Dam is between it and us, it is a 4 mile drive.

What makes this cabin unique

For those who want a homey atmosphere, quiet, not partying and noisy, we are a great place to come "home to" after a busy day downtown with all it's attractions. We have a small fishing pond for our guests, well stocked, catch and release, and you bring your own gear. Also a bonfire area and volleyball and basketball.

Small but very clean and cozy.

  • 4 of 5

Very quiet setting. The bed was not great but very clean. Kitchen area has a small fridge and hot plate but it worked fine for preparing small meals. Shower is a little cramped but also very clean. We did not need the TV as the Wi-Fi was excellent and we streamed movies on our computer very easily. Spent each morning drinking coffee on the porch with no bugs and lots of birds. The laundry facility was also very clean and all the washers and dryers worked well. The owner was very quick to respond and we would definitely stay there again.

Fun vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I really had a great time. The little cabin was much nicer than staying in a hotel. We enjoyed watching the deer and birds , in the morning while having our coffee. Everything we needed was available. We loved being able to take walks to the lake daily. Betty texted me before our arrival ,to make sure we had good directions to the cabin. The cabin was neat and clean. I would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.

Great vacation spot!

  • 4 of 5

I loved staying at the cabin. It was beautiful, clean, and had plenty of amenities. The lake was also very peaceful and it was a short trip to get to the main road. The only reason I give 4 stars is due to the wasps that kept getting in the cabin, I had to kill multiple per day. However maintenance did come out to try and find the nest and provided me with spray that did the trick.

Thanks again!

We were actually moved to another little cabin on the property by the owners. We LOVED our stay! We booked last minute and glad we found Mountain Lake Ranch. WiFi was a plus. We enjoyed the location. We have shared information of our cabin with others and many are interested in booking. We look forward to working with Mrs. Betty again!
