Our family stayed here and enjoyed a fantastic week of fishing, boating and swimming. It is a great getaway for the whole family...the dogs loved it too!
All the comforts of home in the beauty of Northern Canada.
Thanks for the beautiful island.
I’m about to head north to this cabin for the 4th time in 4 years. This area is truly stunning beyond words. I could never have imagined finding a place this naturally beautiful and private, but with the comforts of home until I started going here! The cabin is super cute & clean & a great place to have your family.
My favorite memory is the simple joy of morning coffee on the deck looking out over the amazing blue water. But that's closely rivaled by the first smell of the pine forest as you walk from the boathouse up the short trial to the cabin upon arrival. Somehow that smell reminds me I’m alive & I just stop and breathe deeply. Then there are the amazing stars late at night in this place where there is very little artificial light. And of course there’s great fishing -- I’ve landed trophy smallmouth bass, very nice pike and some big largemouth too.
Beyond that I haven’t yet explored all the passageways and bays in McGregor Bay yet, so there’s always lots more to explore. You can find big open water & intimate small bays and channels. There are also some really nice hiking opportunities here. If that’s not enough & and you’re up for a little adventure, you can go around the point & down Bay Finn to day-hike part of Killarney Provincial Park.
The owner is very helpful and can fill you in with details about hikes, fishing spots, best protected skiing spots, etc. (I found out about them from him & don’t recall the details well enough to describe without a map).
-Oh, wildlife! Bald Eagles and black bears are in the area and we spotted a moose right by the boathouse!
