About Steve Blanchette

My wife and I, were both born and raised in the district of Vieux Longueuil, and decided it would be the perfect place for raising our family.

We are still very happy about that choice, since our kids are able to walk to school, and play outside freely.

Steve Blanchette purchased this house in 2008

Why Steve Blanchette chose Longueuil

The Bergeron house is right next door to our house, and when the previous owner Mme. Bergeron put the house for sale in 2008 we were so concern that we would never have nicer neighbour than her, that we decide to buy the house. We rented it for a few years to a young family, and in 2012 have decided to start renting it for tourist that were looking for a quiet and peaceful place next to the action of a big city like Montreal.

We named the house: Maison Bergeron in honor of Mme Bergeron, who was a very warm and welcoming neighbour.

Steve was a great host, welcoming and helpful. The house interior is very nice, comfortable, obviously well taken care of with pretty much everything you might need to enjoy your visit. I would recommend Maison Bergeron to anyone.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This home was a lovely, quiet space in which to relax and explore Montreal and Quebec City over the course of the five days we visited in late November. The home was very clean and very well appointed, with all the necessary! All the appliances were practically new, including a great washer and dryer that really came in handy.

The house is within walking distance of a lovely little shop area with good restaurants and a nice grocery store. The subway stop, located just beyond the shop area, has plenty of good parking available if you want to jump on the subway to explore Montreal. IKEA is but a short drive away, too, so for those of you who aren't near this phenomenon at home, you have an opportunity to indulge here! There is also a terrific breakfast place called Cora's within driving distance which uses lots of fresh fruit in their culinary creations. Delicious!

The home was a perfect location for a lovely, quiet break from it all. Thanks to Steve and Carol, who were perfect hosts!

Comfortable and ideal location

  • 5 of 5

This home has all the comforts we were looking for in an ideal location. The beds were perfect. Internet access. updated kitchen that was also stocked with basic cooking needs such as herbs and EVOO.

Walking distance to restaurants, grocery, parks and Metro into Montreal. The bike paths were great and we recommend riding the parks and former expo 67. Just a great relaxing vacation.

Recommend this property.

  • 5 of 5

Was here for 5 days and enjoyed my stay. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the property. I didn't need to clean anything before using it, I am extremely fussy and this has been the only place that met my standards. Loved the outside garden and barbecue. Planning on another trip to Montreal and will only stay here.

Thank you for your hospitality Steve and Carole.

Wonderful home, very nicely decorated and very clean

  • 5 of 5

Maison Bergeron was a wonderful place to stay. Great location- close to wonderful old world town on the St. Lawrence River. Great restaurants and nice market within walking distance. The house was very well equipped to cook at home. The house is very attractive and very comfortable. We slept very well in very comfortable beds. The house also had a nice deck where you could read or have meals. The neighborhood is very quiet and close to a park. Steve and his wife were very friendly and willing to offer suggestions for enjoying Montreal and Longueiul. We look forward to returning to Maison Bergeron. Steve also returned our security deposit a day after we left. This is a Class A accommodation.

Excellent house in a great location with nice amenities and warm, hospitable hosts

  • 5 of 5

This home was wonderful. We use HomeAway for almost every rental and this home was one of the best. The hosts are wonderful and provided us great tips on Montreal and the surrounding area. They also offered to have their lovely teenage daughter babysit our two sons (4 and 6 yrs old). We were able to go to Montreal for a wonderful dinner date thanks to their offer. The house has really comfortable beds in the three nice-sized bedrooms, air conditioning, a fully-stocked kitchen, two sitting rooms with flat screen TVs with cable and Netflix, and an oversized washer and dryer. It is a great place for a family to live and explore Montreal. We took public transportation, but also rented a car for several days and did not have to worry about parking since there is a driveway right next to the house. The neighborhood is quiet and has a wonderful park for children just two blocks away with a public, free pool with lifeguards. We will be back to immerse our children in French again since the house has everything a family needs to be comfortable and happy.
