About Charlie Schaefer

I spent my summers from the time I was 2 at the property until graduating from college. My Dad would send my Mom, Brother and I here as soon as school ended.

When I moved to Philadelphia, We came on weekends where my children who got to enjoy some of the same things that I did growing up. They learned to Ski at the local Ski areas and to enjoy some of the outdoor activities

I came back to live here in 2008 to take care of my Mom in her final years and decided to stay and fix the place up. My business as a consultant affords me the pleasure of working from home, when not at a Client's site

I purchased the house from the estate in 2010, added a three car garage and apartment in 2012 that is connected to the house at the end of the back porch with a separate entrance, which I live in. I completely gutted the original house and renovated it with the goal to use for family, friends and as a vacation rental that was completed in April of 2014. It is a great place to get away from the city as we did for years. Less than 3 hours from NYC and Philadelphia

This is the 4th time we have stayed here. We have a great time and that is why we keep coming back. Great place to ride with plenty of trails to explore. Charile is extremely nice and checks in to make sure your stay is going well. The house is well kept. Other than food, drinks & bikes not much you will need. We will be back for sure. Met our expectations and more.

Wedding weekend and family reunion

My two brothers and their families stayed here and had a blast hiking the trails, riding the ATVs, and using the outside fireplace. They had a great rapport with the owner of the property and I'd bet they will stay there again!

Holy cow, this is such a cool place

My sons and I spent the weekend here to quad. We had so much fun! Charlie lives in the attached building and was a great host (thanks Charlie!). There are some trails through the woods and fields to cruise through, with about a three mile country road you can ride with very limited risk of cars or tickets. So much fun to feel like you have free reign of a 60+ acre farm. And the house is all new. Very nice accommodations and a fully equipped modern kitchen. And 15 minutes away is historic Honesdale. Cool downtown. We ate one night at the Willow River Cafe - a gourmet place that's weird, delicious & ok to show up in flip flops. Loved this trip so much. We'll be back.

Perfect spot for the whole family & ATV riders!

My husband and I had a great stay in this beautiful home! The house has more than enough room for a full family to enjoy. The property is perfect for those looking to ride ATVs, plenty of trails and areas to explore. Very large lawn as well. There is a really nice patio where you can have outdoor meals and relax in the sun and a great fire pit to enjoy each night. The front porch was the perfect spot to escape the sun when it became to hot, without having to head inside. The house is on a fairly bush road but is within a short driving distance to town for food shopping, ice cream, shopping, or going out for a bite to eat which we found to be extremely convenient. Charlie is such a nice person and we really enjoyed talking with him. We would definitely return!

Great ATV riding!!!

We brought our 3 sons and their friends to this farmhouse and property for some dirt bike and ATV riding. Wow!!! They had an awesome time !!! It was a beautiful home, we had everything we needed to have a memorable weekend the kids will not forget. Plenty of space for the 7 of us. Charlie is super friendly and very easy to work with -- we hope to vacation there again in the future.
