A mere ten minutes walking to The University of Montana and Missoula’s vibrant downtown, this house is in a perfect location and is constructed for the outdoor enthusiast or weekend adventurer. This three-bedroom plus bungalow is ideal for families or couples who wish to enjoy Missoula’s outstanding recreational opportunities and cultural activities. Built seven years ago, the house was constructed with a geothermal heat pump system--providing radiant floor heat in the cooler months and central air conditioning all throughout the house in those hot summer months--, on-demand hot water, brand new energy-efficient appliances, beautiful decorative concrete kitchen counter tops, water-saving showers, dishwater, and toilets, and zero-scape native landscaping, which together make this lovely residence a model for sustainable living.
The exterior includes a large expanse of patio with two decks that are ideal for outdoor relaxation and a bar-be-cue grill for outside cooking. Since the owners are “car-free” the house also features a specially designed 12-stall, lockable bike rack for the biking enthusiast; it is perfect for Missoula's burgeoning bicycle-friendly infrastructure and the easily accessible Rattlesnake valley's mountain bike trails. Enjoy a day of hiking or bicycling, a night out on Missoula’s vibrant downtown, or an early evening of flyfishing on the Clark Fork River, each within a short walk of the bungalow!
This contemporary residence was architecturally designed to blend into the traditional 1920s 'bungalow' neighborhood while the interior of the house is ultra-modern--a blend of concrete floors, Persian area rugs, local art, a steel cable stair railing, and vibrant colors--combining comfort with elegance. Sleeping up to 8 people, the bungalow easily accommodates families and groups. It is also child friendly (with a playground directly across the street at Gregory Park) and has a practical, efficient and open floor plan that promotes a cozy, yet nicely flowing atmosphere. The upper level includes a master bedroom with a queen-size bed and a large walk-in closet, a bathroom with a tiled shower, large storage cabinet and pedestal sink and a guest bedroom with both a queen and a twin bed. This room is ideal for children. The main level consists of a guest room with a full-sized bed, a large living room space with sectional couch, a second bathroom that includes a tub/shower, a dining room, a galley kitchen and a bonus room with a queen-sized futon/couch.
Amenities, such as high-quality linens for each bed, fluffy towels in the bathrooms and soap and shampoo for showers and baths are provided. The bonus room includes HDTV with cable and a DVD player (with a collection of classic DVDs), and a stereo with the owner's favorite CDs. High-speed wireless Internet service is also provided.
The Rattlesnake is one of Missoula’s most convenient and desirable neighborhoods. Bungalow-on-the-Green is a short distance from blue-ribbon trout fishing, tubing, rafting, and kayaking on the Clark Fork River, dozens of miles of mountain bike, hiking, and Nordic skiing trails and is in close proximity to the wonderful shops, groceries, restaurants, museums, libraries, pubs and festival grounds of downtown Missoula. It is also a mere one-hundred yards from the I-90 Van Buren Interchange, so getting to and from the airport, as well as all highways in and out of the city, is a breeze. Do you enjoy coming to Grizzly football and basketball games? It is a mere ten minute walk to Washington-Grizzly Stadium and the Adams Center.
