We have lived in Thermopolis our entire lives and enjoy the country living life style having lived on a ranch on Owl Creek to owning 15 acres of the family horse ranch. We know the area for all activities including river floating, fishing and mountain camping. Yellowstone National Park is near and we try to plan a trip every so often as it always has something new to show us. Growing up on ranches has taught us hospitality and how to enjoy all that is around us.
Ruth Jackman purchased this chateau / country house in 2014
This area is dear to us as it was family owned and we have a great admiration for living in the country.
We fell in love with this area of Hot Springs County for the beautiful views of the mountains, river and farm land that surrounds the property.
Great place to relax and just be quiet, the owners are very accommodating! We will stay here again next time we visit Thermopolis!
It is a rather nice place in many ways. However, there is no drawer space for clothes or personal items. No place to put anything.
Do you know how some homes have a vibe to them, a strange feeling the minute you step foot in a new place? Well this little cabin feels like a HUG! This stay was our THIRD time in this awesome little place. We absolutely love it. It has become our home away from home! Ruth is as delightful as can be . She greets you like family. We are adopting her! The antelope in the field in front of the porch, the train that runs near the river, and the feeling of just being away from the hustle of our real world, makes us want to return again and again. This is a true diamond for sure....we have already booked stay #4!
We traveled with 3 young kids to Wyoming, and had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at this cabin. It was completely furnished with everything you need to feel at home. The antelope outside were so much fun to watch. We had full privacy, but knew people were close if we needed anything. Very close to town for groceries or entertainment. We highly recommend. It was amazing!!!
Thanks,Ruth! We had an awesome time at this charming place.
My husband and I loved it! It' so adorable inside! Ruth supplies everything you need, even the coffee! We stayed 4 nights. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning with our coffee and every night enjoying the stars! The house will also accommodate 6. The price is better than a motel and when you go out and explore Thermopolis you feel like you're going home afterwards. If you love antelope, you see many everyday! They are so cute! We enjoyed them from the porch and looking out the windows of this home. The babies are precious too! When we come back to Thermopolis this is where we will stay again! One more thing, you are 1 1/2 hour drive to Cody, wy and Yellowstone National park. With all that to do, you can easily stay a week! My husband and I were sad to leave because it was such a special place and such beautiful views! Thanks again Ruth for your hospitality!
Major fishing access to the Big Horn River, Windriver Canyon and Boysen Lake. Nice well maintained 9 hole golf course with a very nice resturant and lounge. Wyoming Dinasour museum with daily digs and attractions.
