Private Estate In The Heart Of Wine Country, Minutes From Sonoma Square

Bedrooms 4
Half Baths1
Space 5,000 sq ft
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

Quiet private and peaceful on a valley knoll with spectacular views.

This wine country villa boasts spectacular Lovall Valley vineyard views. Located in the heart of Sonoma wine country, the house sits on 6 acres nestled among surrounding vineyards. The property features a main house and private guest cottage with a pool and spa, accessed through a private gated entrance. The estate sleeps 8 adults comfortably. There are three bedrooms in the main house - two master bedrooms with a king bed, and one guest room with a queen bed. Each bedroom has a private bath. The guest house has a separate bedroom with two full size beds - slightly smaller than a queen - and a private bath. This home is approximately 5 miles from the Sonoma Square. The pool has a Baja bench, which affords an opportunity to place a lounge chair in an elevated part of the pool and enjoy the views while sipping wine or reading a book. There is an infinity edge spa in the pool as well.

The main house of the estate features three bedrooms and four bathrooms including two master suites – each with private luxury shower and jetted tubs, a cozy guest suite with private bath, and an additional half bath powder room. The main house offers a grand gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops, a large granite island - great for cooking and entertaining - and a complete package of Wolf and Sub-Zero professional appliances. The open kitchen prep area and breakfast nook are great for casual entertaining. The breakfast nook boasts sweeping views of the vineyards and just outside there is a kitchen garden, with herbs, artichokes, pomegranate, and fruit trees. The kitchen area shares a pass-through fireplace with the living room. The formal dining room and living room are topped by vaulted ceilings with over-sized windows, providing panoramic views. The dining room features a dining table that can seat 12. There is a serene library with beautiful views of the neighboring lavender farm. There are 5 flat screen televisions throughout the house with DirecTV, a DVD player in the library and guest house, and wireless internet. However, as this is a rural setting, the internet in the valley can be slow and cell reception spotty. This is a great place to "get away from it all".

The cozy guesthouse features an additional bedroom with a large bath, its own up-to-date kitchen with granite counters, a large living room, and French doors that open onto a wrap-around patio. The guest house is also equipped with DirecTV and DVD player and internet access.

Special features include a pool with a “baja bench” for relaxing, an infinity edge in pool spa, outdoor shower off the main master bedroom, large tiled veranda with outdoor fireplace. There is a wall docking surround sound stereo system that can play your favorite tunes on built in speakers throughout the house, as well as outside by the deck and pool area. The house is equipped with a high efficiency washer and dryer.

The house is located 45 miles from San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and 63 miles from Oakland International Airport. The estate is 5.5 miles from downtown Sonoma. There are many wonderful things to do in the Napa/Sonoma wine country including: wine tasting, sight-seeing, hot air ballooning, hiking, bicycling, swimming, horseback riding, shopping in Sonoma Square and eclectic dining from 5 star cuisine to local bar-b-que and burgers. The Sonoma Mission Inn's famous spa is located a short 15-minute scenic drive from the home.

Fabulous. Magnificent views. Great location.

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with our family. We spent time wine tasting, walking the area, and hiking. It was perfect. The area is so serene. The house is large enough for privacy and has gathering areas where we sat together and had wonderful conversations. We could pop into and out of town easily. We are coming back!

We stayed in this beautiful house for my sister's wedding and I have to say the property was absolutely stunning and incredibly breath taking. The description and the photos Cary provided are 100% accurate. Everything was very well kept and the property was very clean. Jessica was the point of contact to provided the keys upon arrival and she was always easy to get a hold of if we had any questions. My family and I were so happy to spend our time there and truthfully did not want to leave. One thing I would like to point out, which I do not see as a negative at all, cell reception (and Wi-Fi in some parts of the house) was very limited. At first I panicked as I knew I would have family members wanting to get in touch for the rehearsal dinner, wedding, brunch, etc. but it turned out to be a complete blessing to not have service. I was able to disconnect from work and truly enjoy the house, pool, incredible scenery and above all, my family. Apart from this, there is a working land line that we used if we needed to make phone calls. The house is located up in the mountainous area so it is a bit of a drive to the Sonoma town square, and by 'bit', I mean 15-20 minutes. It's something you get completely used to and knowing the scene you wake up to every morning makes it 100% worth the drive. I've already recommended this property to friends, family and co workers. I've showed them pictures and everyone has been in complete awe. Don't think twice, book this property, you won't regret it!!

Large and Beautful Home

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place for our large family to stay during our recent wine country visit. The owner was responsive and easy to work with on the rental. The property itself is large, beautiful and well equipped. We had plenty of room to spread out with separate areas when we needed a little peace and quiet. The pool has a great view and is a great place to hang out after a long day touring the wineries. You won't be disappointed!

Perfect comfort with astounding views

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took our adult children and spouses to wine country for some quality family time. And this house was the perfect place to accommodate us comfortably. The house is absolutely beautiful and classically modern in a wine country way, offering every amenity. Cary was so easy to communicate with and very quick in getting back to our many questions. Jessica was basically "on-call" if or when she was needed. We cooked, grilled and brought home meals so we could enjoy our newly purchased wine of the day. This was perfect for our family, and I would certainly suggest this for our next girls' trip.

A Perfect Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5

Cary's home was everything we could have hoped for and more. We booked the home several months in advance since we were coming to the area to participate in the Ironman Vineman at the end of July. To Cary's credit, he put up with all of our type-A inquiries and made us feel assured that our stay would be flawless. Jessica, the property manager, got in touch with us about a week before our arrival and was so helpful. She even gave some suggestions for places to celebrate our daughter's birthday while we were there. The process of renting the home was a total breeze from start to finish.

I cannot say enough about how beautiful this home is. The home is so much more than the pictures show. It is completely spacious and you never feel like you are on top of your guests. The kitchen was great for family breakfasts. The home truly offered every possible amenity. The yard is amazing complete with a heated pool and spa. Everything in the home was first class from the bedding and towels to the TVs. Again, we just cant say enough how spectacular this home was.

The home is located in the hills of Sonoma so having a car is essential if you want to do tastings or visit other areas of the Napa/Sonoma Valley. It was quiet and secluded. The town of Sonoma is a quick 5 minute drive from the house and has tons of restaurants, shopping and tasting rooms. I would highly recommend this home to anyone that is considering it.

Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for a girls trip! It was even more beautiful than the pictures and had a lot of space and very nice kitchen, living area and bathrooms. It was just the right distance outside of town, so it was just a short drive (8-10 minutes), but was in a very peaceful more secluded area. We had a chef come in one night and cook for us and the house had plenty of entertaining space. The pool area was great as well. The guest house was nice and allowed for additional sleeping space. This would be great for 3-4 couples, families or other girls trips! I can't think of anything I would improve!

Car: recommended

Located in the heart of Lovall Valley the house is nestled atop a hill overlooking the valley vineyards. Just a 15 minute drive into the center of downtown Sonoma, you will find shops restaurants and a variety of local activities.

Wine tours, bicycle and trolley tours, fine and casual dining are all just a tiny part of what you can experience in Sonoma. Another 15 minute will take you to the heart of Napa with more activities and places to explore.
