This is a Year Round 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath Vacation Rental home that boasts an outstanding Peninsula location centered in between the Newport and Balboa Piers. This property has fabulous views of the Harbor, mountains and city lights, and peek views of the Pacific, with bright, sun-lit rooms on all 3 levels. An accomplished architecture and interior design team have taken the sophistication and brilliant space planning of an urban loft and softened its edges with chic coastal finishes that frame the exceptional views. This fashionable juxtaposition is seen in driftwood-hued plank wood floors and sleek stone slabs contrasted with sweeping expanses of glass. The main level hosts a chefs kitchen, dining area, dual fireplace, living room and den/office, as well as a powder room, laundry room, & 2 car garage. The second level includes 2 hotel-inspired guest rooms with baths ensuite, a large-scale terrace with fireplace, and a great room lounge with high ceilings, walls of glass that look toward the ocean and concessions kitchen. About Doug Corsmeier

Doug and Nicole live local in downtown Huntington Beach. In March, 2017 we celebrated our 26 year wedding anniversary and have 6 children, 5 boys, 1 girl, and yes the girl is the youngest. Doug works in finance and Nicole aside from being a Full time Mom is a business owner and 2nd year Law student. Nicole's undergrad degree is a Bachelor of Art and interior Design, hence her eye for nice decor.

Why Doug Corsmeier chose Balboa Peninsula

We owned an initial VRBO right off PCH in Huntington Beach but the city does not allow weekly rentals, so we sold that property and settled into the BP area. Prior to HB property being purchased we tried to buy on Balboa Peninsula but not good properties were available. A single family home is also more desirable than a duplex, as this present home is zoned R2 where an original duplex once stood.

What makes this house unique

Location to Bay Beach and Ocean is excellent and mid distance on the narrowest part of Peninsula in between Balboa and Newport Piers.

The nicest VRBO I've ever stayed in! Will make this place an annual stay!

Stayed here with a small group of leaders from my church for a retreat. This is by far the nicest VRBO I've ever stayed in! The house looks straight out of a magazine. It has all the amenities you need and is right by the beach. The owner (Doug) was very responsive and attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, family friendly, beach retreat!

Yes the fact that the home was a new build property with pretty much new everything, including beds, furniture, and all furnishings helps for a nice stay. The location of the property is ideal, as there is the only bay beach one house behind us and the ocean is just to the front, all on the narrowest part of the peninsula, mid-distance between the two piers. The large great room concept and 2nd and 3rd level patios are great congregation areas for friends and family uniting. Always a wonderful time

This is the fourth year in a row we have stayed here for a "Girl's Weekend" such a beautifully appointed home and very spacious. It's so convenient to the boardwalk, shops and restaurants. We are already looking at our calendars for next year.

Fabulous home and location for our family get-together

We loved the location and living spaces in this well-appointed home. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. Close to everything, very clean. The bicycles were an awesome extra that saved us a ton of money. The only inconvenience was that we ran short of trash bags and toilet paper, and there was no kleenix or soap for bathing. I would recommend this property for sure. Just be sure to bring your own soap!

Owner's Response: Sally, we are glad that you and your family enjoyed the home, as it is a great location and amenities such as the beach cruisers, outdoor fireplace, Weber grill, oversize great room / kitchen, poker table area, Foosball, etc. is great for family and friend gatherings. With respect to items such as TP, we put three rolls in each bathroom, but extra is below the sink and with regards to soap / shampoo we tried this at another rental and had complaints about the brands / types selected, therefore we opted to have this be at the preference / discretion of each guest. We do have soft soap in all bath and kitchen areas, and obviously all dishwasher, and detergent soaps. There is also a full size washer and dryer set, but we do not provide detergent for the washer. Great house - GREAT area

We loved our recent stay at this house on the beautiful Balboa peninsula! There were a lot of us there and the space and layout of the house allowed everyone to do their own thing without disturbing anyone else. It really is a very special property. That being said, we did have a couple of issues. One of the main things that attracted us to this property was the communal deck with the fire pit. So we were really disappointed to find that only one of the loveseats had cushions. We made do by bringing cushions down from the 3rd floor deck and bringing out other pillows, but it wasn't as comfortable as fitted cushions would have been. Also, we got ready to grill dinner on one of our last nights there only to find that the valve on the propane tank couldn't be turned on so the grill didn't work. To be fair, we didn't contact the owner about this at the time but we were ready to grill dinner and didn't want to deal with any unnecessary interruptions so we cooked inside and it was delicious. One last thing, for a property that's described as upscale, the bed linens were a bit threadbare and I would have expected more than 2 bath towels per bathroom. Ending on a positive note, the house is fantastic, the area is so beautiful and clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely give this property an overall positive review.

Owner's Response: Hi Michael, we are glad that you and your family or friends enjoyed themselves at our home on the peninsula, and appreciate your stay. Yes, my wife and I try and keep the home in top order for our guests stays, and to that end, as was mentioned ahead of time, we were in the process of having all the cushions recovered new on the 2nd level patio. We could not take them all away at once, so we had to do this over two different times. They are replaced and look great and apologies again that this fell during your stay, as we tried to hold off over the summer, but finally had to get this done. Also, specific to propane, I know I offered to come down and replace, but it was declined. We have a hard time predicting when this goes out but we do act very responsive when it does. As for towels, there are actually 4 bath towels always in each bath, with the other two being under sink in bathroom vanity. We are sorry you did not notice these added towels, and have since switched to putting All towels in sight folded on countertops. Specific to thread bare towels, we did an inventory and noticed a few starting to fray on edges, and those have since been tossed and another round of added new towels and sheets are in, as again, with a lot of guest stay activity, we agree things do eventually get worn. Overall, the home is very spacious with nice amenities and great for family / friend gatherings, and location is excellent, being mid distance between Balboa and Newport piers on the narrowest part of the peninsula. Beautiful! Excellent location. Wonderful gathering place for a family reunion of 10!

Every one of our 10 person family gave this rental an excellent, top rating! We loved it!! Each room is beautifully decorated and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The soundproofing is excellent so you are not disturbed if you have activity on the main floor while someone needs to sleep. You are close to either the ocean or harbor--within a few steps. The peninsula has a trolley service that picks up one block away to travel to popular restaurants and the Fun Zone or nearby piers. We did it all and had a wonderful trip!!

Due to the challenges of pleasing All Guests preferences in bath soap and shampoo, we have found it simplest for Guests to provide their own. Each of the four bedroom bathrooms have a hair dryer, and there is an iron and ironing board in the 3rd level master closet. Their is also a new full size washer / dryer set and all guests must provide their own laundry detergent. Kitchen soaps and bath room soft soaps are provided. We also provide approx. 5 beach towels per guests stay.
