Fantastic location across from the Aquarium and the Niagara Gorge. A quick walk, half a mile, to the Falls themselves. FREE Wi-FI. Conveniently located near a supermarket and public transportation.
Great Gorge Guesthouse is located in the Park Place Historic District, across the street from the Niagara Falls Aquarium. The house is a 2-family duplex and you will be staying in one side. We are in a urban area that is being revitalized and is a half mile from Niagara Falls. The house is almost 100 years old - it is not new and shiny - it has old house quirks.
At Great Gorge Guesthouse, you can:
* Relax in the large common area.
* Prepare your own meals in the fully stocked kitchen.
* Access free WI-FI anywhere in the house.
The house has three bedrooms and one bathroom on the second floor. The large living and dining area and kitchen are on the first floor. It is fully furnished for you to make yourselves at home. The kitchen is stocked with all the items you need to make your own meals if you wish. If you are not into cooking, there are restaurants 1 block away on Third Street and more nearer the Falls.
There is free parking available in the driveway next to the house.
For more information about what to do and see in the area, visit our other property, Wanderfalls Hostel's website.
You will have the whole house.
Since this is a whole house rental, we usually do not see the guests very much if at all though we are only 5 minutes away if they need anything.
The house is situated in the Park Place Historic District within a typical rust belt city. It is a national historic district located at Niagara Falls in Niagara County, New York. It encompasses 89 contributing buildings. It is principally a residential district built up between 1885 and 1928. The dominant architectural styles are Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Arts and Crafts.
This an urban environment with a diverse racial and socioeconomic population. While many of the big old houses in the area are lovely and well maintained, there are others that are neglected or empty. It is an area that is slowly being brought back to life with new people and energy.
The bus stop is 2 blocks from the house. The Niagara Falls State Park Trolley stop is a 5 min. walk from the house at the Discovery Center.
We are avid travelers and running this guesthouse allows us some freedom in the off season to do just that. Carroll spent most of her career in Human Resources but gave it all up (darn) several years ago to open a hostel in Niagara Falls- leaving the wonderful California weather behind but gaining a wonderful husband. Andre is from Germany and we found each other here! We have since expanded from the hostel and added a couple vacation rentals to our endeavors. We think they are a great alternative to a sterile hostel - more like home away from home.

The Great Gorge Guesthouse is perfectly situated across from the Aquarium and a 10 minute walk to the tip of the Falls. We are located in the historic downtown area where most of the homes are over 100 years old. There's lots of history here as well as the incredible Niagara Falls.
We are fully permitted and certified by the City of Niagara Falls that we meet all building and fire codes required to operate a vacation rental. Many listings in Niagara Falls are not legal, so be careful. Keep your family safe and be sure to book with those operators that can show you their permit and certificate of occupancy.
Great location for the Discovery tour of the falls! Carol met us upon arrival and gave us some really valuable tips for our visit to Niagara. The Guesthouse was clean and provided everything we needed. There were some very nice touches like books and games available for us to use during our stay. I recommend staying here.
After riding in a car for 14 hours, it was nice for this family of four to spread out and relax in this charming house. We all had our only bedrooms, a full kitchen and a refrigerator to keep the drinks cold, a dining room table for our daughter to do her homework and comfortable couches for my husband and son to watch movies. We didn't do any cooking because you can get some of the best pizza and hot wings delivered right to the house.
My only issue with my experience is that I had no idea how run down the area was and that the crime rate was so high. If this house was in a different location it would have been perfect.
Old house and that will or won't appeal to taste of the individual. Fine by us and good for our millenial children to be in an old house. Super close to the Niagara Park and Rainbow bridge. Loved our stay.
We loved this place. It's an older home and very cozy. The owners keep the place very clean. It's a short distance to the Falls and all the attractions. We would love to come stay again.
The twin is an older home and very clean and comfortable. The location is so nice. We had a wonderful time. The falls are so beautiful and were so easy to get to! We watched the fireworks from the landing window. We ate at two terrific restaurants that were really easy to get to. (The Bakery and The Third Street Retreat) We had a great time!!
We loved where this house is situated. The falls are a short walk, the trolley shorter and the aquarium the shortest. We stayed with my parents and two children aged 2 and 2 months. I loved that I could ride the trolley back to the Discovery Center when I needed to feed the baby while the rest of my crew enjoyed themselves. I did not feel unsafe at all walking in the neighborhood by myself. The rooms are nice sized as well. A pack and play can easily fit in any of them, which made the stay easier. The only thing that I felt could be improved were the window treatments as they had some issues functionally. Also, I would rather use 2 ply toilet paper and have some tissues somewhere in the house. None of these were major issues, but would go a long way in making the house more like home. The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had and "Check in" was super convenient. Would stay here again.
