About Jane

My family and I first visited Crested Butte in 2006. We immediately fell in love with the area and have been coming every winter since. We have lived in the British Virgin Islands for the last 26 years so are used to living in a small community. We fell in love with the uniqueness of the town and the friendliness of the people. But is only took one visit in the summer to be totally hooked. As soon as this lovely house in the centre of the historic district came up for sale I knew I would be spending a lot more time in Crested Butte!

Jane purchased this house in 2014

Why Jane chose Crested Butte

It's all about location. Being located on Elk Avenue, life is so easy. Stroll across the road in the morning to either Rumours or Camp 4 for a cappuccino and fresh baked pastry. Don't worry about driving in the evening after a night out at any one of the huge selection of great restaurants and bars. The atmosphere in town is something really special. The local farmers market is just at the end of the road, the Arts Festival, Mardi Gras parade, Big Air on Elk, 4th July Parade are all right there. The local bus stop to the mountain is 1/2 a block away. The cinema, 2 blocks away. Crested Butte is such a unique and friendly town that being right in the center makes being here all the more special. Many hiking trails are within a short walk of the house, free buses access many more trails. In the winter there are free buses to the ski slopes and many of the nordic trails start a few minutes walk from the house. Crested Butte is such a special town!

Nice place right in the heart of CB but still quiet. Everything worked. Well stocked with basic cooking and eating utensils. No complaints.

Clean, Welcoming and in a Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

Conveniently located right on the main avenue of CB. Walk to everything in town (coffee shop is right across the street). House was very clean, and Jane was responsive and easy to work with. Kitchen is well-stocked with silverware, plates, pans, etc..

We are looking forward to our next stay!

Comfortable and clean. Great location

  • 5 of 5

Spacious kitchen with washer and dryer. Large dining room and living room. Great location on Elk Street. Beds were comfortable. Nice sheets and towels. A few cosmetic things need work. (Laminate in front of sink coming loose.) Upstairs bathroom sink is very small. Okay for teeth brushing but not for shaving. We would stay here again.

Lovely place, great for a family with teenagers!

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic time during our stay. We loved the location and had a great vacation. Our teenagers had the opportunity to enjoy Crested Butte by just walking out the door, that part was really a plus, because they could shop, and have a coffee or go see a movie with a level of freedom that doesn't happen for young people that often. We enjoyed the easy access to hiking.

The choices for dining unfortunately made the spacious kitchen almost necessary.

My only suggestions are, there was an abundance of recycling containers on the streets in Crested Butte, but we didn't find one inside the house. We didn't know what the system of recycling was for inside the house, we just grouped them together instead of tossing them. Also perhaps a list of what "should be done" could be put up for future guest so that can make sure that they leave the house in a way that you appreciate?

Thanks very much!

Owner's Response: Dear Ericka, Thank you so much for your suggestion! That is a great idea. I will contact the town today and get 2 more recyling buckets to put outside the house. I'm so glad you had such a great time in Crested Butte. Yes the restaurants here are amazing ... we're spoiled for choice! Kind regards Jane
