great space/great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4 nights and used the location as a jumping off point for some great hiking, shopping and dining. The Casita was VERY comfortable with a lot of unique lighting options to make the ambiance just right. The bed was awesome - AS comfortable as our own bed. As it was pretty chilly during our stay we were not able to take advantage of the patio areas but see that it would have been another relaxing space to hang out. The neighborhood was very quiet and centrally located to the plaza and railyard areas, short drive to the canyon road area. We highly recommend this place!!

Charming Casita

  • 5 of 5

We spent six nights here in January and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Casita. The location, in a residential neighborhood, is convenient both to driving out of Santa Fe and for walking to the plaza. As others have said, the casita has everything you might need, with a well-equipped kitchen, lovely bath, washer/ dryer and ample closet/storage space for a week or more. The casita is spotless, nicely decorated and very quiet. The off-street and covered parking was a plus.

We did several days of hiking north of Santa Fe, and returned most nights after dark, tired and hungry and were so happy to turn on the gas fireplace and enjoy a cozy dinner in the casita. I loved having a TV with Netflix since it allowed us to watch Godless (filmed in New Mexico) which just enhanced the overall experience.

Barbara is a dream to work with and was very accommodating when bad weather caused a delay in our arrival. She checked in regularly via text and was quick to answer any questions. We hope to return next year perhaps for a longer stay.

Charming, Cozy, Authentic, and Very Well-Appointed Casita!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay coincided with New Years, as well as some pretty chilly weather. Luckily, there was nothing cold about this rental property. Parking the car under cover of a beautiful carport, we made our way through the entrance courtyard, very private and pretty, to the casita's roofed front porch. A nice breakfast table and chair set there made us wish for warmer weather, but alas our meals were all going to be inside on this trip! Upon entering, we were greeted by warm tile floors throughout, a gas log fireplace in the living room to keep out the chill, lots of beautiful wood beams and ceilings, a cedar-walled dressing/walk-in closet, and a beautiful bathroom with....yes!....a large jacuzzi tub and a beautiful, large glassed shower stall. Colorful tile is used throughout the casita and its kitchen, making for a very cheery and authentic Southwest experience. Now, normally in a VRBO I look for some basic necessities in the kitchen, and I'm happy to find a couple of knives, a few plates and a corkscrew. The kitchen here was absolutely crammed with goodies, a full complement of everything you'd need to whip up a full meal and serve it in style. Utensils, small kitchen appliances, plates, name it, we found it. The kitchen gets top marks! On to the bedroom...a small gas free-standing fireplace supplied heat to this end of the casita, and its glass front made for a very warm, romantic atmosphere. The arched bed alcove was very pretty, and the built-in sound system (hook up your phone and you'll have Pandora throughout the casita) was a great touch. There's also a washer/dryer off of the bedroom in a closet, very convenient! The queen bed was very firm but comfortable, and made for some very relaxing nights. Lots of pillows to choose from too. The all-important Internet question? Easy to hook into, worked great all weekend. Location, location, location...A Trader Joe's about a mile away, one stop and you've got your supplies! There's also a Walgreens and a Whole Foods within a mile or so. Getting to the center of town and all the action is an easy 6 minute drive (the casita is a block in from a main road, so you get the ease of quick travel with the benefit of peace and quiet). Park at the Sandoval Garage in town and you can easily walk to all the shops you'd ever want to see, as well as the famous Plaza and a slew of wonderful restaurants ( Cowgirl BBQ. Trust me ). In closing, I'll say that this rental was easily one of the best we've seen.

Great Santa Fe Cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This was a fun place full of great Santa Fe style and easy walking distance to some great restaurants and downtown. The fireplace was wonderful and the patios were in the sun and shade. You could easily choose whichever you wanted according to the weather. The huge jet tub was delightful after a cold afternoon in the plaza. Thank you!

Absolutely everything you need...Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed 4 nights here leading up to Thanksgiving and we loved every minute of it. The casita is beautiful, spotlessly clean and perfectly located to access major roads. Nothing is more than ten minutes away and Barbara is a wonderful, gracious hostess — unobtrusive but always responsive and helpful. Look no further for your sanctuary in Santa Fe. This is it!

Top shelf experience

  • 5 of 5

Barbara made every aspect of our visit easy and comfortable. The casita is adorable and in a quiet residential neighborhood. Barbara made herself available for any advice or questions. We did need to contact her because Barbara provided us a binder with information that anticipated our questions and highlighted the control devices in the house, good restaurants, and many activities in and around Santa Fe.

It was a five star experience for a long weekend getaway
