La Prenda Vineyards Victorian - a large, well appointed 4 bedroom, 3 ½ bath vacation home - is the centerpiece of the working ranch from which Ned Hill, one of the region’s most prominent vineyard managers, guides more than 800 acres of the region’s finest grapes. Magnificent century old redwood trees compliment the impressive stature of the soaring two-story Victorian, backed by vineyards and ranch operations. Located at the gateway to Sonoma Valley, the ranch is just minutes from historic Sonoma Plaza, hundreds of Sonoma, Carneros and Napa wineries, dozens of restaurants, historic sites, hiking trails, bike paths, spas, galleries, shops and event facilities.
Step into this stately sanctuary and make yourself at home! Settle into comfy furnishings in front of a blazing fire in the first floor living room. Whip up a gourmet meal in the spacious kitchen; enjoy a formal dinner at the large dining table, or informal meal in the kitchen’s breakfast room. Play games or watch movies in the family room, complete with a large flat screen television, full sofa bed, and wood-burning stove.
The well equipped kitchen, with granite counter tops, central island, and new stainless steel appliances, provides plenty of work space for family and friends who cook together, as well as professionals. Invite a private chef in – and plan an intimate dinner.
A spacious veranda wraps around the front of the house, and a back porch and lawn provide ample space for outdoor dining. The hot tub is located just off the back porch. The expansive handcrafted picnic table seats 12.
The first floor’s 1000 square foot master suite features a sitting area with fireplace, cal king bed and huge marble bath with tiled floors.
Hardwood floors flow throughout the remainder of the first floor, while carpeting softens the upstairs bedrooms. A second master with cal king bed, rich wood furnishings and in suite bath is located on the second floor. Two separate queen bedrooms share a tiled bath. A hide-a-bed loveseat in the king provides space for an additional child or adult, along with the family room sofa bed, The Victorian comfortably sleeps up to 10 people. Stocking up on food and wine in Sonoma is a pleasure with numerous gourmet indulgences, grocery stores, wine shops and wineries so nearby. Broadway Market, just one mile north of The Victorian, carries basic supplies, has an excellent meat department and great sandwiches for take out. Whole Foods, Sonoma Market, and Safeway, just a few minutes away, are near Sonoma Plaza on West Napa Street. A number of wine shops and tasting rooms are located on and around Sonoma Plaza. Sonoma’s Best at the junction of East Napa St. and Eighth St. East, features gourmet take out and a lovely patio for breakfast and lunch. The Farmer’s Market operates seasonally on Tuesday evenings in Sonoma Plaza and year round at Depot Park on Friday mornings.
La Prenda Vineyards boasts its own fig, pear and apple trees, as well as vegetable gardens. Ned and Erika Hill are pleased to share the freshest of seasonal fruits and vegetables with guests.
Taking in the Flavors of the Wine Country
Located in the heart of The Carneros appellation, La Prenda is centrally located for visits to Carneros, Sonoma and Napa wineries. More than twenty wineries are within a 10-minute drive. Dozens are less than a half hour away. Renowned restaurants featuring international cuisine and fresh local products are abundant, many within a five-minute drive.
A rich collection of spas, galleries, antique stores and specialty shops are close at hand. Unique regional offerings include Cornerstone and Di Rosa Preserve. Cornerstone Gardens, on Hwy 121 just south of The Victorian is an exciting center with shops, a restaurant, incredible gardens created by world-renowned garden designers, and an event center which hosts weddings and celebrations.
Di Rosa Preserve – just across Hwy 12 from Domaine Carneros, features an outstanding collection of California contemporary art.
Numerous nearby hiking trails offer a close up look at the beautiful natural terrain and native habitat. Local bike shops and tour companies offer rentals and tours.

Ned Hill grew up in the grapegrowing business. His parents, Steve and Gwen Hill, own Parmelee-Hill Wines and Vineyards. Their fifty-acre vineyard is located on Sperring Road, west of the Victorian off of Arnold Drive.
