This cabin is situated in West Bamfield, on a hill overlooking the bay. There is a huge deck on which to lounge and take in all the beauty of the water and surroundings, eagles fly by all the time. Taking in the view from the large picture windows or off the upper deck from the front master bedroom is amazing. There are two master bedrooms and a 1/2 bath on the second floor. Each master is equipped with one king bed, one double and one single. All the amenities of home are provided: linens, bath towels, blankets, dish towels, tablecloths, washing detergent, to name a few are provided for your enjoyable stay. Condiments are provided and you are welcome to use them. Check in time is 3 pm and check out is noon on departure day.
The boardwalk along the water in West Bamfield is great for strolling. There are eco tours of Barkley Sound where you see whales, sea otter, sea lyons and many other ocean related animals and an occasional black bear on shore. Bamfield is the site of the Transpacific Cable that connected west to east, the original main building is still there and the station is now a marine science research center for five Canadian universities and they offer tours.
Each July, a terrific music experience, Music By the Sea, brings performers from all over the world. It's a real gem in the rough. The setting is heavenly; what a treat to attend. Look up 'Music By the Sea' 2014 July 5th to the 13th, Bamfield for additional information, 250-728-3887.

Driving a vehicle from Port Alberni: 1 1/2 to 2 hours over gravel road, 77 km (have good tires and full tank of gas)
Boat: via sea or from Port Alberni, there is public docking in Bamfield; reserving ahead of time is best. If you boat in from Port Alberni, the channel ride can be smooth to choppy. There is a marina in Port Alberni and launching available and boat trailer parking.

There is a Coast Guard Station in West Bamfield. A water taxi is available to travel between east and west Bamfield. There are two general stores, one on each side of the inlet with full grocery and liquor. There is a small bistro on the west side and a full service restaurant on the east side. There is an emergency nursing station on the east side.

If you live in the U.S. then payment made to our U.S. cabin account. There is a weekly discount for low and shoulder seasonal rates. The cabin has a maximum of 8 people.
