About this property

A Perfect Retreat Organic Farmstead On 90 Acres Pro Kitchen 1800's House

We are a working Organic cow and pig farm with an in ground swimming pool (closed Sept 17th). Our barn and stable are used for raising pigs and cows. Please be careful not to touch white electric fencing or animals. The house was built in the 1880's, a charming white farmhouse, recently renovated with central A/C, professional kitchen with 60 inch wolf stove, double ovens, and sub zero in eat-in kitchen. Outdoor Dining areas on back porch and poolside. 3 equal sized upstairs bedrooms, 2 queen beds and 1 king, share 2 full bathrooms, one upstairs one downstairs. The upstairs bathroom has been renovated this year. We added a soaking tub and a steam shower. Music and large flat screen TV in the living room. We can stream from Netflix, Amazon and Hulu and watch DVD's from our library. We are not connected to cable service (happily). Very comfortable beds and bedding will be provided.
Dining Room has a large table that seats 12 comfortably. Three generous sized bedrooms each with a queen size bed. Laundry room with full size washer and dryer. We are located on a quiet road, perfect for running or biking. Located outside both the towns of Rhinebeck and Red Hook. The farm does not open to members until June. The Hudson Valley has much to offer, The Culinary Institute and wonderful restaurants in town, Hyde Park home of FDR, Olana, Bard College, Omega Institute, and much more.

Great experience
House and hosts were wonderful. The house had an incredible amount of warmth and character. Our entire family loved staying at the farm. Emily and Maggie, the farmers at Great Song Farm were wonderful people, and we were even able to get a "share" of the fresh vegetables and flowers from the farm 2x week. Our 3yo and 5yo children really enjoyed walking through the farm in the mornings, picking fresh tomatoes and eggs and watching the chickens. We hope to return soon. Very central location and private. Thank you!

Beautiful oasis
We had an absolutely wonderful stay on the farm. The place is spectacularly beautiful and it was a wonderful break. Both the house on the inside and the grounds were great condition. You can tell the owners love their home. The kitchen was a joy to cook in (especially with the local farm ingredients). The newly redone bathroom upstairs has both a luxurious soaking tub as well as a steam shower that were perfect on the few days where the evening chill caught the air. The beds were very comfortable with high quality sheets and duvets. The pool was huge. Much bigger than we anticipated from the pictures. The kids stayed in it for hours! The sun set a few nights over the Hills while we were still in the pool! There is a CSA a few feet away that we walked around and got to pick our own little cherry tomatoes and flowers from. The farmers that live there are so wonderful. We invited them to make s’more’s with us one night next to the pool and had a wonderful time. The kids also loved getting eggs from the chicken coop every day (and they really enjoyed eating them as well!) The area is full of lots of fun adventures. A few of the good ones were a 3 ish mile walk through the Wild flowers at Grieg farm (complete with goats to pet), we went on cycles on a few of the rail paths, did the poets walk with beautiful views of the Hudson, and hiked around a local lake and the kids took a splash in the water from the beach before we went home. The ice cream at Fortune’s ice cream is also not to be missed. It was a really magical break. The only downside is there was poison ivy a few meters away from the pool which was clearly marked to be avoided, but managed to steal a few of our balls that we played with in the pool! We would highly recommend this property to anybody!
