A warm, traditional rainforest cottage with a vast private backyard
About Nao Sims
Honey Grove is the long time dream of Nao Sims. It is the result of her heartfelt dedication to a more sustainable way of life. Nao grew up on 160 acres in British Columbia’s wild interior with beekeeping- homesteading parents. This upbringing instilled a life long interest to live simply and close to the earth within her.
Nao Sims purchased this Cottage in 2011
Why Nao Sims chose Black Creek
Honey Grove is located in the fertile Comox Valley, famous for its burgeoning food-culture' dedication to quality, freshness and organic practices. It is a short distance from beautiful beaches and forest walks, as well as a 20 minute drive to Mount Washington. If you are looking to get closer to nature, to be restored by the beauty of the natural world, than Honey Grove is your destination.

Great Place to Stay
A wonderful stay in in a quiet and beautiful setting, with welcoming but respectful hosts.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay Honey Grove Cottage. It was comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed to prepare simple meals - the knives are nice and sharp! The gardens were a visual delight and I enjoyed just sitting on the deck, observing them. The suggested hiking trails were nice hikes. Nao and Tal were great hosts and I look forward to seeing them again during another stay at Honey Grove Cottage.
Great little vacation cabin!
We enjoyed our stay. Thank you for everything!
Enchanting Garden Cottage
Entering this garden cottage we immediately felt at home and immersed in Nature. There are so many lovely touches that Nao and Tal have incorporated into the property that include an abundance of books, fresh flowers, natural bathing products and a loaf of freshly baked banana bread. Large windows and a beautiful view of the cottage garden intrigue your senses. We enjoyed walks on the property and time spent photographing the garden. Nao and Tal were welcoming hosts that offered us thoughtful suggestions on how we could best spend our time in the area. Even though the cottage is in the country, Courtenay and Black Creek were in close proximity and offered many dining options.
Beautiful woodland retreat
We had a lovely time at this lovely cottage
Cozy and lovely hosts
We enjoyed our stay and the hosts were very lovely! They came and chopped fire wood for us so we could have a fire and were very hospitable to our dogs which was so nice. The cottage was well equipped with nice products. Only thing I would note is that it was not as private as I had gathered from past reviews. The yard is sizeable but does share a fence with a garden where there was quite often people in. Everyone was respectful but if you’re looking for super private it’s something to note!
Thank you for your candid, warm reply. It is very important for us to know what we can do better in the future for our dear guests.
We totally understand your complaint about the less-than-tranquil experience you have had during the day you spent here. We, too, are struggling with how busy the farm has been in the past week! Tal's parents have come here for their yearly visit from the far side of the world, and they are quite a force of nature, these two. While they are here not only are we working double time with double the staff in the gardens, we are also renovating a yurt in the back of the property, which has turned out to be quite a behemoth of a construction project despite our intention to keep it simple.
We would love to host you here again another time, and to make it up to you, would like to give you a free night, should you give us another chance. Tal's parents are leaving momentarily, and as for the cottage garden, we have given a lot of love to our living fence of wild-rose, Clematis, and Honeysuckle which stands between the gardens and the cottage, and in no time at all the cottage will be enshrouded within a wall of flowers, and will be as private as private gets!
We sincerely hope to see you and your puppies in the future, and apologize for the over-business of this period!
