Photos and Description of the St.George's vacation house rental

Bedroom, sunroom lounge, a private bathroom.Use of garden, patio, veranda, kitchen

'Haslemere' is a 110 year old home with character and history. It has a lovely garden which is currently featuring an hibiscus hedge in full bloom,a vegetable plot,

flowering trees, and lots of palm trees. There is a hammock and a hanging chair under a shady tree, for you to relax in, and loungers on the lawn.

The house was built with high ceilings and tall windows facing south across the harbour to stay cool in summer and warm in winter.

Your bedroom has a queen-size bed, ceiling fan, and an AC. Your sitting room has a lovely view across St.Georges harbour and is furnished with a microwave, small fridge, TV and comfortable chairs. Your bathroom has a full bath and shower.

You are welcome to use the house kitchen, laundry, patio, and verandah.

We love to give our guests a tour of the neighbourhood. We'll take you to the store for any food shopping you may want to do, show you the way to the beach, get bus tickets or passes and teach you how to use the bus service. If we can improve your vacation in any way we will try our best to do so!

For guests staying 3 days or more we will meet your plane and return you at the end of your stay.

Our breakfasts are varied and hearty. For much of the year we serve you outside on the patio, under our mahogany tree.

A quaint town, the oldest living English settlement in the Americas, with historical sights as well as charming walks and views of the island's eastern coastline. A visit to The World Heritage Center is well worth the small fee which includes an historical informative film and display of our town. St.George's has forts, beaches, small shops, pharmacy, churches, museums and The Bermuda Perfumery with a free tour! There are re-enactments and free walking tours in the town square twice weekly on Wednesday and Saturday and most days during the summer months. There is a truly wonderful Haunted History Walk which is a must see for visitors. St.George's is full of charm and history as this was our original capital city and the walking tours are wonderful and full of interesting facts about our town. Or you can take a road train tour.

The waters of the harbor and the ocean are crystal clear blue and aqua. Jet skis , canoes, sail boats are all for hire to help you explore the area.

You might want to take a glass bottom boat tour, or sail on a catamaran.

There is excellent snorkeling at nearby Tobacco Bay, as well as food and music. For divers Bermuda boasts some of the world's best wreck diving if you want more than fish. Our coral reefs are well protected and in excellent health.

Crystal Caves , which are close by, are open to the public, and there are other caves to explore and swim in which are not commercial.

If you enjoy walking, the old railway trail, a grassy path, takes you along low cliffs at the ocean's edge, and there are beach walks aplenty.

Explore some of the many forts around St. George, in a variety of designs they date from the 1600's to World War 11. Fort St. Catherine has excellent displays which are well worth the visit.

St. Peter's church, (now 'Their Majesties Chappelle' by Royal decree of H.M. Queen Elizabeth 11) is the oldest Anglican church in the Western Hemisphere, and people have worshipped on this site since 1609. It is a lovely old church with Bermuda cedar beams and furnishings, and plain glass windows which give it a very different 'feel' to most churches.

From the waterfront a ferry takes a scenic 40 minute route to the Royal Naval Dockyard in the west of the island.

The Dockyard holds the National Museum, shops, restaurants and a glass blower, among many other attractions, all in a setting of one of the strongest British forts of the 1800s.

Hamilton, our capital, has shopping, a fine Art Gallery, the Cathedral, and Fort Hamilton overlooking the town in addition to many varied dining experiences and shopping.

St. George and Bermuda have much to offer a vacationer, whether you want to be active or stay quietly on a beach under an umbrella.

Notes:
*We are licenced tour guides. We can provide tours, price $25 an hour, which can be themed if you have a particular interest, e.g. plants, birds, historical, military history, etc. *In 2017 the America's Cup yacht races come to Bermuda. We are well placed for the ferry to the races, and even better situated for the special events taking place in St. George. We can host 2 couples who are friends, and one extra person provided you are willing to share the bathrooms- this is a Victorian house!
