We look forward to welcoming you to the Jasmine Bungalow on the tranquil Venice Canals, the best area to stay on the Westside of LA....worlds away from crazy Venice Beach, but yet ever so close.
A block & a half walking to Venice Beach, crazy Venice Boardwalk, beautiful Venice Pier & trendy Abbot Kinney this is an original bungalow built in 1950 yet renovated extensively with all the comforts of modern conveniences.
Other than the occasional duck or cat fight, you will sleep peacefully at night as there is no through traffic ~ a rarity in LA!
The apartment is the self-contained alley access unit of a duplex. (Please note that there is no view of the canals nor canal deck use with this unit.)
There is however canal access through the front gate onto the public walkway & our dock on the canal! It is the perfect place to stay when you are busy all day and need a clean quiet space to refresh.
This beautiful & comfortable unit has a full kitchen with dishwasher, gas stove, garbage disposal & roomy fridge with ice dispenser.
Queen bed in private bedroom & with a/c, TV, wi-fi. Opium day bed in living area excellent for reading and lounging, by fireplace, sleeps one or 2 small children.
Atrium between 2 bedrooms adds to privacy & could be excellent small 'yoga cave' due to hard wood floor & skylight.
Comes with one dedicated parking spot...very important on the canals!
(As the Canals themselves are unfenced, parents may wish to consider if bringing small walking children.)
All gates lock to provide security & the boat dock from which to dangle your feet completes the experience!
This unit does not have a deck nor a view, but is very comfy and convenient!
Our bungalow is located on what is left of the canals Mr. Abbot Kinney created when he built Venice in the early 1900s.
When the city acquired Venice in 1933 the canals had fallen into disarray & all of the canals were filled in save for the 6 that remain here today. In 1990 the entire canal area was beautifully renovated and is now one of the most valuable areas in LA County.
We are an easy walk to Abbott Kinney blvd. fabulous restaurants & shopping, the beautiful Venice Pier, and the crazy Venice Boardwalk with all of its famous street performers, etc.
Bike rentals are close by and we are 10 minutes to LAX, right off Venice Blvd. with ease to Beverly HIlls, Hollywood & downtown LA.
You can walk or bike most anywhere for whatever you may need~ store, bank, dry cleaners, etc..
So close to all but so far from the maddening crowds...a true sanctuary when you need one from busy LA while either working or sightseeing.
Important note for visitors not from the area: There is a big difference between places actually on the canals versus on Venice Beach & the walk streets proper or off Abbot Kinney Blvd. The canals is a small self-contained area with limited car access which creates a noise buffer & makes it more difficult for the general craziness of Venice to intrude. Hence the price difference from other rentals that are grouped together here. The vacation renter is highly advised to run a quick safety check on the area in which they are renting...

Please read attached rental agreement as confirmation of reservation implies acceptance.
Smoking, pets, drugs, firearms are not allowed anywhere within the perimeter of the property @ any time, under any circumstances. This includes inside the gates & the parking area. Any child coming onto the property will require a signed release. If agreement is breached guest will be asked need to leave immediately & full security deposit will be forfeited.
Third party bookings must disclose & provide name, number & email of guest @ time of booking.
All VRBO fees for CC payments will be deducted from refundable security deposit upon return. (To avoid VRBO CC fees use E payments instead.)
Once reservation confirmed, guests will be sent arrival info one-two weeks prior. For emergency purposes, guest is to provide cell phone # that will be used while on property.
Check in is 4 p.m. Check out is 11 a.m.
Owner reserves right to charge $100- fee per any portion of hour, per hour, past check out time guest remains on property.
Non-registered guests may not park or be on property without registered guests present.
Deck is private area for canal front unit use only.
Guest is responsible to contact owner immediately of any issues of the functioning of the property and not take it upon themselves to repair or ignore something that needs to be fixed.
Lastly, unfortunate recent events have required us to remind guests that this is our home. Guest is kindly asked to be conscious & remember that this is a private home in an extremely compact residential neighborhood. After your departure we still have to live next to our neighbors 24/7 ;-)
Disruptive, boisterous, disrespectful behavior on the property will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Owner reserves the right @ their discretion to cancel the reservation by returning the remaining rent if the above & Rental Agreement rules are not observed & respected.
