Or cross the road to fish from the new fishing dock or launch your kayak in the river. This is the place for your next vacation.

The unit is direct oceanfront, located on Crescent Beach in St. Augustine, Florida. What’s special are not only the breathtaking view of the ocean, but also of the Intracoastal Waterway and Matanza River and the low lands to the West. When you step through the front door you’ll be surprised at the sight of the ocean and be drawn to the private balcony to take it all in. Wait till you see the sun and moon rising over the ocean!

As you sit at the breakfast bar, you’ll have a difficult time choosing whether to look at the river and the boats going by, or at the ocean and the waves breaking on the beach. The unit is special in that every room has water views! Few places offer this. From the dining area or from the many front porches you’ll love watching the sky change to all the colors of the rainbow, and be reflected in the river as the sun sets. The sight of the river flowing by is mesmerizing, calming and so peaceful. It also triggers the anticipation and excitement of going out and enjoying all the outdoors has to offer!

* PROXIMITY TO THE BEACH AND THE INTRACOASTAL & RIVER

In 250 steps you are on the beach. Crescent Beach is kid friendly with tidal pools and wonderful sand for building castles. You can go for miles on the warm beach walking, jogging, scavenging for seashells or biking. The soft white sand and clear blue water make this one of the best beaches in Florida. It's a very wide beach with room to spread out and play: bodysurfing, surfing, boogie boarding, sailboarding, kiteboarding, surf fishing, sea kayaking, kite flying, Frisbee, bocce, and football. And, of course, just sunbathing and relaxing.

For an alternative to the beach, bring your personal water-crafts and fishing gear. There’s access to the river directly across the street for launching kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Also there’s a private fishing dock. You might just catch dinner. The complex is only one of three that offer this option. If you have a boat on a trailer, there are several boat ramps within 3 miles. Ask about availability of onsite storage for your boat during your stay.

* WELL-APPOINTED AND FURNISHED UNIT

Many updates were done to the unit in 2009 and in the past year. You’ll be surprised at the quality of the furnishings. This is not your traditional beach front rental.

From the balcony there is nothing between you and the ocean but natural vegetation, dunes, and sand. It's a spectacular view, from the moment dawn breaks over the horizon, to the night sky glittering with stars. The murmur of the surf, the sight of pelicans and other sea birds, and the breezes from the ocean, make the balcony a delightful place. The sliders to the balcony are new and easy to open. Storm shutters are easy to open and close also.

The interior of the unit is as wonderful as the great outdoor area. It’s an airy open floor plan. Unlike many units, from the living room you can see through the unit to the dining area and out the window to the Intracoastal Waterway and Matanzas River.

The living room has two couches for relaxing, while watching the 50" flat screen TV. There’s cable with and DRV recording ability, so you won't have to miss your favorite TV programs, a DVD player for movies, and WiFi. If you need an additional bed just open ottoman for a full size twin bed.

The kitchen has been updated with new appliances and granite counter tops. Seating at the bar is a great place for kids. If you love to cook, this kitchen has everything you need, from quality cookware and utensils, microwave and coffeemaker, a blender for making tropical drinks or smoothies and an ice cream maker. A large selection of herbs and spices are in the cabinet for you to use or try. Use what you want, don’t worry about replacing what you use up, just add it to the shopping list to be replaced for the next guest. If you’re not into cooking, there are a number of wonderful places nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner

This unit is also unique in the kitchen is located between the living room and dining area in an open layout. No walls here to block the view. This is great as the dining area is separated from the living room. One can linger over have dinner and others can watch TV or play games in the living room.

The master bedroom makes it easy to forget you’re on land when you sleep at night; from the comfortable king size bed, see the ocean waves and open the sliding glass doors to the balcony to feel cool breezes and hear the lulling sounds of waves on the beach. There is ample storage, walk-in closet and a 32" TV.

The master bathroom will surprise you with the large Jacuzzi tub, which is a wonderful place to relax at the end of a fun-filled day! Kids love the bubbles, too. There are double sinks, a separate toilet and shower area.

The second bedroom has a king size bed with ample storage, and direct access to the second full bathroom. 19" TV. Watching the water flow by in the river is almost as soothing as hearing the waves on the beach from the master bedroom.

All of the towels for both bathrooms, beach towels too, are provided. As are all of the linens, blankets, and pillows for the beds. A full size washer and dryer in the unit make laundry easy, not that you want to do laundry on vacation. Bring your favorite beach toys and chairs. The balcony makes a great place to store these.

* ON SITE AMENITIES

The complex is gated and offers, an unheated pool, 2 tennis courts, an outdoor grill near the pool, beautiful grounds, covered parking, uncovered parking, an elevator, (no carrying the bags up the stairs here) and on site management for assistance. Recent exterior improvements to the building makes Windjammer more attractive than ever. The balcony and walkways have new floor coating and railings. (This process was long and arduous for everyone. If you tried to book in the past several months I'm sorry the unit was not available due to the construction.) If you have boat, ask about onsite parking for it during your stay.

I'm originally from Texas the land of warmth. After living in Connecticut 20+ years I bought Windjammer as a place to escape. Now living in Florida full time I'm very happy to be back living in the sun and out of the snow and being cold!!! I was a real estate appraiser for 25 years and now am pursuing a new career with a new company I have started. I love to cook and any excuse for a party is sufficient to have one. You will find Windjammer well stocked for doing just that.

I love St. Augustine and live here full time. It is a wonderful community with so much to offer in ways of entertainment, (music, theater, concerts), restaurants , outdoor activities, hanging at the beach, hiking, great golf. Why Ginger Borgman chose Crescent Beach

A little background this is a dream come true for me. In the 1980's I vacationed in Mexico in a beautiful condo overlooking the Pacific. Ever since then I had dreamed of owning a place right on the beach. Then in the 1990's I had a small river in my backyard and I loved watching the water flow by. My husband's love of summer vacations at the beach was the incentive to act on my dream. When I walked into Windjammer I knew my dreams had come true. Ocean to the East, Matanza River with low lands to the West, truly the best of both worlds all in one place. I love being here, hope you'll love being here too.

Windjammer is the perfect place to escape to. Exterior improvements of the complex that started in August 2017 have been completed in February 2018. The process was long and arduous for owners and for guests wanting to book. If you tried to rent during that time frame I'm sorry that I was unable to accommodate you. The dust and noise was to much for anyone to bear. All is great now with great looking exterior, new floor coverings on the balconies and walkways. Plus nicer railings that offer even better viewing watching the ocean or the river.

What makes this condo unique

The views of both the ocean and the river are truly amazing. The ocean might have big waves yet the river is calm and flowing by. I love the privacy of the unit, many places I looked at the balcony faced other balconies. Those I felt as if I was in a fish bowl. The location of the unit, though called 1st floor, is not at ground level. It is located above the garage (and no sound from the garage). The unit is accessible by a staircase that only we and the unit next to us use, an they are not here often. The location of the unit within the complex is superior to other units that overlook the walkover.

The unit was bought with the furnishings and they are very nice. Everyone that has come to visit keeps asking, did it come with this, and this, and how about this. I have added my own pieces along with art work to make the unit truly a home away from home.

Our stay here was amazing! We have been to St. Augustine and Crescent Beach before, but this is the first place that all 4 family members said they would want to stay in again. The view was beautiful and the condo was clean and had everything we could need and more. It really felt like being on vacation!! We especially loved the view and the stocked kitchen! It also felt like the condo was kept up and not neglected.

  • The master has a Jacuzzi tub large enough to share. It is a really nice place to unwind at the end of the day. The bathrooms have updated ceramic tile floor, new fixtures and mirrors that brighten the space. The 2nd bedroom has direct access to the hall bathroom.

Wood blinds and room darkening curtains for sleeping.

Beautiful, relaxing beach vacation!

We loved everything about this condo, complex and beach! Have never been to a place that was so well stocked on everything you needed to make your vacation on the beach enjoyable. Sitting on the balcony in the morning watching the sun rise over the ocean and sitting on the dock at night watching the sunset over the inlet....just beautiful! Wish I was there now!

Lovely property

Sometimes it is hard to really grasp what a property will be like from the pictures posted. This condo was everything and more than we anticipated. There was nothing that we needed that was not available. Ginger was a very gracious hostess and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable including placing birthday balloons in the condo before we arrived. Unfortunately, illness kept us from being able to fully enjoy the area but the condo's fabulous view allowed us to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean from the family room couch and the master bedroom. The sunrises and sunsets were both visible from the condo and were amazing. Thank you Ginger for your graciousness and we hope to return some day to explore the area more.

Amazing!

We have stayed in many condos but this one was by far the BEST stocked condo we have ever stayed in. There was NOTHING we needed to buy except our own groceries. The view was absolutely amazing. Sitting on the balcony listening to the waves and looking at the stars was so relaxing. We were looking for a quite place where the hustle bustle was minimal and we have found the place. The beach was so clean and only steps away. Ginger is an amazing woman to work with. She is so caring and will make your stay memorable. We will definitely be returning to our home away from home! Thank you Ginger! We will be calling you soon.

Our vacation in a construction zone

Shortly before our scheduled arrival date, the owner notified us that due to unexpected delayed exterior renovations to the building , the unit's balcony could not be used. She assured us that we would still have an ocean view (we simply could not use the balcony) and offered us a 50% reduction in the base rental fee. Because of the very late notice; prior plans and commitments with friends and family; the supposed limited nature of the construction, and, obviously (due to the very late notice) no alternative, we accepted the offer. Unfortunately, in addition to the balcony/construction issue, the unit itself was very dated and long overdue for a total refurbishment. The "cable tv" and internet service sporadically went on and off continuously through our entire stay. On Monday morning after our arrival at about 7:45 am we had to endure hammering, pounding, grinding and what sounded like jack hammering. At times the noise was so loud that we couldn't hear the tv. We actually had to vacate the unit during the day to escape the multitude of noises. Our ocean view turned into a view of workers on scaffolding. We had parked in the underground parking area. Our car was covered with dust and debris from the construction work. We had to park outside in the front of the building to keep the car clean enough to see out of the windows. The owner professed to have been unaware of what was going on. We really could not consider moving out, because of plans with family and friends and the lack of viable alternatives. Given the condition of the unit, we would never stay there again.

Owner's Response: Terrance, I am very sorry your stay was unpleasant. No one wants their vacation ruined by work going on in the area. I informed you as soon as I was told by the management company of the delay in completing the exterior work. I can assure you now, as I did before, I had no idea it was going to be a disruptive as it was. My offer to move you to another unit was made before your arrival and again I offered to move you to a hotel during the week, both times you chose to stay in the unit. You could have used the unit on the Saturday for your family and friends dinner. I try very hard to work with my guests to make their stays as pleasant as possible. That also includes attending to the unit's needs. If you had been more specific of how you saw the unit dated I would work to make those updates. The unit had updates in about 2007 or 2008. I do plan on renovating the bathrooms hopefully within the next year. Ginger

Very nice condo

Condo was very nice. Nice size balcony overlooking the beach. The only negative that I would say would be the showers. The shower heads need to be replaced as there was hardly any water coming out and it took us twice as long to shower. Also not really enough toilet paper. Should be well stocked. Other then that it was very nice. Beds were very comfy.

Owner's Response: Thank you Barb for taking time to write a review. The water pressure in the bathroom showers are being addressed. The plumber came the week you left and identified the problem as being the shower valves. I wish it was as simple as changing out the shower heads however it requires replacing the valves within the walls and this is a 2+ hour job for each shower. My current long term guest has graciously offered to allow the plumber access for the time needed to make the repairs. I do appreciate feedback from guests and strive to make improvements based on those suggestions for future guests. Best regards, Ginger

Best location on Crescent Beach! Lovely condo!

This was our first time in St, Augustine and we loved it. Ginger's condo was lovely and exactly as described. If you love the beach like we do this is the place for you! The beach was not crowded, the sand was soft and white and the water was perfect. We swam everyday. We will definitely be back. Thanks Ginger for sharing your lovely condo. L&K from New York

There are museums, historical sights including two forts, hiking in the many state parks. Disney World is 2 hours away, Daytona Beach is 45 minutes away.
