Located 3,500+ feet up at Wintergreen, this 3 BR/3 BA condo has just been renovated with new floors, newly painted, new appliances, new granite kitchen counters, and two flat screen TVs.
If adventure is what you want, Wintergreen has the best in Virginia. If it is relaxation, there's plenty of that too.
In the winter, the skiing, snowboarding, and tubing are great family activities at the best ski resort in the Southeast.
In the summer, the cooler weather (typically 10-15 degrees) is great for swimming in the outdoor pools, the lake, hiking to views or waterfalls both on the mountain and nearby.
In the fall, the foliage is nearly as colorful as Vermont, and not as far to go! It's also a great time to hike. I'll email you a guide to the condo/area that has suggested hikes (both easy and hard) and other activities.
Year round, there is history all around -- Charlottesville in one direction, and the Shenandoah Valley in the other. Five minutes by foot to the spa, which boasts a great indoor pool (outdoor too in the summer), a fitness center, and full spa menu. Two minutes by car to mountaintop golf, and 20 minutes to 27 holes in the Valley (45 holes in all). The tennis is sublime -- three indoor courts two minutes away year round, and a multitude of hardtru courts in the cool mountain summer air.
There's an adventure center for kids, restaurants on the mountain, and down in the valley. The area has excellent wineries and three craft beer breweries/restaurants.
The condo has two decks overlooking the valley -- perfect for relaxing. There are two master bedrooms with king beds -- one large one downstairs with a flat screen TV and fireplace. Firewood is free, plentiful, and supplied by the condo association.
The main level features a living room/dining room with fireplace and large flat screen TV. There is a master suite with a king bed, and a bedroom with two twin beds (separate bathroom).
All three bathrooms have shower/tubs.
The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, with plenty of utensils, plates, bowls, pots/pans.
We provide a guest-of-member pass for resort activities, which allows you entry into many activities (some with fee) not available to all rental guests.
We have a WiFi hi-speed internet connection in the condo, so you can use your laptop inside or on the deck to keep up with e-mail and the office.
Close to skiing -- can walk to the expert slopes. Snow tubing is also very popular. Golf is two minutes away. The lake is 20 minutes down the mountain. Hiking abounds -- trail info provided via email. Highly recommended wine tours of Afton Mountain and Veritas wineries. The three stop Beer Trail is also popular.
The spa/fitness center with indoor and outdoor (summer only) pool is a short five minute walk away.
The condo features stunning views of the Rockfish Valley, and temps are usually 10-15 degrees cooler than the valley below.
It's an hour to historic Charlottesville, Crabtree Falls is to the south, Humpback Rocks is to the north, and the historic Shenandoah Valley is to the west.
Drive the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway or hike the nearby Appalachian Trail.
