The location was secluded, beautiful views, gorgeous home. This was the ultimate party home- huge kitchen, lots of space to hang out, music throughout the house, media room, pool, hot tub, you name it, this house has it!
Thank you for your review. Our goal is to provide a great space with every amenity you could need. We are glad that you enjoyed your experience and hope you'll consider us again for your next trip to the Napa and Sonoma County wine country.
Wonderful Base for Napa
While a bit of a hike from the Napa Valley floor, once you arrive at the Ranch Above it is an amazing retreat where you can relax in the seclusion of nature around you. All of the rooms were well appointed, and the kitchen provided for a great means by which we were able to have a chef come into the home and prepare a meal for our group. Throw in the infinity pool, hot tub, bocce court and hilltop views, you can’t go wrong with this property!
A Zen Retreat for our Girls Trip!
WOW! The Ranch Above St. Helena was PERFECT for our Girls Trip! Sooo many great areas both outdoors and indoors to simply relax, soak in the scenery, get caught up with friends :) Great amenities, everything in the home was in perfect working order, caretaker always available to promptly handle any questions.
The staff that assists with preparing for our arrival was INCREDIBLE! Very responsive and knowledgeable. All recommendations (chef, concierge, grocery shopping) were great!
THANK YOU Blair Spangler Group for a truly INCREDIBLE trip!
Great view! Execellent experience!
We stayed at the ranch for two weeks with families across three generations. First of all the location was great. High on Spring Mountain amongst great vineyards you really had great vantage. There is a platform with spectacular view where we had private yoga session that the the Blair group helped organise. Speaking of service, the caretakers are available down the road from the ranch most of the day and are extremely responsive. Whenever we needed something addressed or had questions, they were extremely helpful. The villa itself is very well appointed and spacious. We made full use of the pool, media room and the kitchen. Really enjoyed it and would definitely come back. The only thing to point out is that the road to the ranch is not the easiest to navigate particularly at night.
5 stars for the property, 4 stars for the drive
This house is completely immaculate. Somehow the pictures don't do it justice. 10 of us stayed here for my 40th birthday celebration. Everyone had their own bathroom, plenty of space around the house for people to enjoy each other or have time on their own. We used a company they recommended to have a chef come to the house one night. Then we had a bus drive us around to different wineries the next day. My only complaint, or something to be aware of is that it is 20 minutes of very curvy roads on the way there. Then once you get to the "driveway" of the house, it is about a 3 minute drive on a steep and curvy gravel road. This makes it a little challenging at night or even after going to a tasting or two. Otherwise the house is absolute perfection.
Mountain top get away has beautiful views but is pretty far away.
The setting is beautiful for this large house decorated in a French chateau style. It was great for our 11 person group, but we would have benefited from renting four wheel drive cars to get there. We had a wonderful weekend, but were disappointed that we were not allowed to turn on the pool heater, or use the missing outdoor cushions allegedly due to a rain forecast, which of course never materialized. The kitchen is large and completely decked out for cooking, which we took advantage of. The garden would have come in handy later in the season, but the grounds were absolutely spectacular. The lookout deck provided fantastic views both east and west.
We truly regret that Erin did not read/understand the terms of her spring reservation. We discount rates at this time of the year because the weather can be cool and unpredictable and reiterate this fact with extensive shared info. There is always some outdoor furniture left out all year round. If guests want to pay, we are happy to move all our cushions in and out, weather permitting. Erin declined this service. After +/- mid-April, it stops raining until Nov here in CA. We have acres of fully upholstered outdoor furnishings for months on end at The Ranch. Pls be assured there is no need for 4 wheel drive vehicles, they would only be a hindrance. The roads are rural and curvy, the last mile is gravel, but that is all - they are easily passable even in heavy rain. I zip up and down in my Prius. We are very clear in our information that the pool is a vanishing edge and therefore cannot have a cover. It is solar heated as gas or elec heat without a cover is unaffordable. Some years weather in April can be hot and clear, it is a gamble if you want full use of the pool at bargain rates. The pool is always clean and beautiful to behold, year round. No matter the precise temperature of the pool, April is the most splendid month up here. The rolling hills are all green and wildflowers abound, the valley is not crowded with tourists - it is locals' favorite time of the year! We have a year-round hot tub.
