About this property

Waterfront, Paradise Found

Only 60 miles North of Seattle and no ferry. 'The shortest distance to far away!'

Relax and enjoy this beautifully furnished, private, vacation home with no-bank access to the beach. Awesome unobstructed Southern views of Port Susan Bay and be delighted to see Mount Rainier. Bring binoculars and cameras to enjoy a constant variety of wildlife activity. At high tide, there is water to the North as well as the water to the South. It is almost like being on a ship! We have provided a 20' ramp from the bulkhead over the driftwood for easy access to the sandy beach. The ramp will be installed in early May and removed early Oct due to storm activity.

Please note that my response rate to inquiries is 100%, which Homeaway/VRBO considers to be exceptional!!

This is a non-smoking house.

We are pet friendly and have a FULLY FENCED yard. 2 dogs maximum and no cats.

In the cooler weather, cuddle up in front of the Quadra Fire wood stove and enjoy winter storms. Wood for the fireplace is provided. Please be sure to read Guest Comments.

Cell service is very good and we have Wi-Fi (WAVE High Speed 250Mbps Internet). Cable is WAVE Broadband Basic & Expanded.

One guest said it is a birdwatchers paradise and they identified over 27 different birds including eagles. The private beach is ideally suited for walking, swimming, fishing, crabbing, and launching kayaks or canoes. There is a public boat launch near by.

Outfitted for the gourmet cook. Outfitted to cook just about anything! Gas barbecue is on deck.

Just bring your clothes, toiletries and groceries and have the relaxing experience of a lifetime. Professionally cleaned with non-toxic, people, pet and environmentally friendly Melaleuca products.

Just a short drive to LaConner and the Tulip Festival in April.

A few days prior to your reservation, I will email you the address, directions and access code. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THIS. We are sure that you will understand that for security reasons, we will email you the directions and access code a few days prior to your reservation.

Relaxing and gorgeous
Loved the place. Cooked many wonderful meals. The gravel yard was painful for our pooch's feet but overall a great place to vacation. Very accomodating! Would love to stay again, sans dog. Super soft sheets. 😊

Mostly pros, a few cons.
Pros: Wonderful location. Perfect for kids and paddle boarding or kayaking. Comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. Bring scooters and bikes because the road is made for pedestrians. Felt really safe for the little one. Great front deck for hanging out and dining. Perfect firepit for s'mores. Cons: dried flower arrangements and nicknacks everywhere and the associated dust, so bring allergy medicine if you have a dust allergy. It's an older, somewhat outdated house so if you're expecting luxury, look elsewhere. Number one con is having to pack out all garage because there is no garbage pickup. We had a truck so not a big deal but would be different if you were driving a compact car. Also neighbors are generally friendly but there are a few sticks in the mud who yelled at us for walking on their part of the beach, which is annoying but par for the course in WA state where beaches can be privately owned.

About the host

We have lived in the Sunset Hill area of Seattle (Ballard) for 40 years and have a sound water view, which we love. We have 2 small doggie friends, Amber the Pomeranian and Rosie, a mix and rescue dog. This is why we are very pet friendly.

Why they chose this property

Our family built a small cabin just 8 doors away from our beach house in 1962. We always loved the location and beach. After leaving the cabin one day in Aug. 2001, there was a for sale sign on this property. We returned the next day and bought it with no regrets!

What makes this property unique

No bank waterfront. Awesome views to the south over the water. You can see the city of Everett 26 miles to the south and majestic Mt. Rainier. Only a short 3 mile drive to Camano Plaza for an Espresso or grocery shopping at the IGA with lots of organic produce offerings. Please see reviews that happy guests have enjoyed. The access without ferry is wonderful and just a 60 mile easy drive from Seattle.
