Ozarks Mountain Cabin Sleeps 17

Click the video button inside the photo to tour Arkansas' best kept secret - Cave Creek Cabin, an authentic 1840's hand-hewn log cabin in the Ozark mountains! Call us today to reserve your stay in this secluded country retreat near the beautiful Buffalo National River! This is the ideal Ozark mountain cabin for family reunions, last minute getaways, spiritual retreats and feasts, romantic weekends and honeymoons. We've hosted monks on a study retreat, a family mourning the loss of a child, individuals recovering from a divorce, families celebrating a milestone birthday or wedding anniversary, turkey and elk hunts, folks floating the Buffalo River; Cave Creek Cabin provides the ideal location for your weekend or longer stay!

This Ozark mountain cabin has modern conveniences, overlooks 125 acres of elk habitat and the acreage is a Certified Forest Stewardship property. The property has 3/8 mile of year-round creek nestled in an Ozark valley setting for swimming and fishing. Our ridge top location is surrounded by the Gene Rush Wildlife Management Area and is five miles from the Carver Input of the Buffalo River, known for excellent canoeing and float trips. Mountain breezes, rushing creeks and great views abound in Newton County. Build memories that will last a lifetime around the massive fireplace and outdoor fire pit. Moved from Kentucky to this secluded spot, restored and modernized for vacation fun and enjoyment of these Arkansas Ozark mountains, the cabin is very large, yet cozy, and sleeps 17. We feature a full walkout basement, fully equipped kitchen, huge front porch and patio with picnic tables and porch swing.

Cave Creek itself rushes below beautiful limestone cliffs. When you are ready for some activity, there is a swimmin' hole, or fish the stream for small mouth bass and perch. Hiking, rock climbing, cave exploring, mountain biking, and magnificent star gazing are available right on the property. The bird and wildlife watching is great too! You may even see a bald eagle at the right time of year. Just look out the windows to watch deer graze by the barn almost every day. Newton County is the elk capital of Arkansas and our 125 acres are an Arkansas Game & Fish elk habitat, welcoming the elk as they move into this eastern end of the county. Turkey abound as well. Take an early morning or evening walk on the loop road around the cabin. Bring your binoculars and drive through the county to see the 'Arkansas Grand Canyon.' Scenic Highway 7 and Red Rock Point. Cave Creek Cabin and the surrounding countryside will truly restore your soul.

Our 2,600 square-foot, smoke-free cabin sleeps 17 people in two bedrooms and a loft, plus a queen sleeper sofa and three bunk beds in the walk-out basement "bunkhouse," a perfect place for the kids. There are two full baths and a laundry room for your comfort and convenience. The remote solitude of our secluded cabin is what draws people to Cave Creek, but cell phone reception is good so you can stay in touch. If you can get them to come inside, or if a rainy day restricts outdoor fun, keep the kids happy with board games and a TV/DVD/VCR. There is no cable, so please bring your favorite movies or watch some of ours. We have provided a variety of paperback books for those who like a good read. In cooler months, relax in front of the crackling fireplace or snooze in the "bunkhouse" lounger and slow down for a moment at Cave Creek Cabin.

If you're looking for a secluded mountain retreat from the standard American pace of life, Cave Creek Cabin is for you! Show your city kids what rural country life can be! They'll love it here in the woods of north central Arkansas! The biggest complaint you'll hear is when they don't want to leave for home. We make an excellent setting for family reunions, church retreats, birthday celebrations. Elk and turkey hunters love our location too!

Outdoor activity awaits and you are minutes from Sam's Throne for a great hike. Richland Creek, Hurricane River Cave and Mystic Caverns are not far away. Brochures and business cards at the cabin will put you in touch with opportunities for horseback riding, zip-lining and more! Branson is about an hour away if you must to get back to traffic and crowds! In less than two hours you can be in Eureka Springs or Mountain View. We're ideally situated near the middle river input at Carver (5 miles.) Outfitters for Buffalo River floats are at St. Joe (34 miles,) Jasper (24 miles) and Ponca (38 miles.) Floating is seasonal and rain dependent, but a short drive to reach your outfitter is a great way to experience the beauty of Newton County and enjoy some of the best vistas Arkansas has to offer.

Location

Nearest Point of Interest
Cave Creek Cabin

Newton County is known as the home of the 'Arkansas Grand Canyon.' You'll find an abundance of mountains, bluffs and deep valleys and the superb Buffalo National River. Elk have been imported into the county and are thriving. The acreage surrounding Cave Creek Cabin has been developed to attract elk, dove and turkey. Deer frequent the property as well, and we've seen bald eagles soar down the valley at eye level. We've seen C-130's do the same thing from time to time, flying from the Air Force Base in Jacksonville, AR. However, most of the time it is quiet, serene and secluded here on our 125 acres. Bring your binoculars, hiking boots and camera, and plan to spend some time in the great outdoors. Sam's Throne is nearby, and so is Hurricane River Cave. Don't forget to book a float trip in season! Travel to Ponca for some zip lining. Try the Low Gap Restaurant for all that's 'gourmet' in these hills.
