Kevin grew up in Ontario and Cheryl, although born in Alberta, grew up in Germany and British Columbia. We have both now lived in Courtenay for the past 30 plus years where we raised our family. Now with our children all adults, we travel more and have now taken on a new adventure of being vacation home owners.
Cheryl and Kevin Webster purchased this bungalow in 2013
This property is located in Royston which is also where we reside (in another house). We have lived in Royston for 15 years and love it very much. Only minutes from town, yet in a secluded rural setting with the beach and many walking trails just steps away. The property is 1/3 of an acre boasting fruit and nut trees and an assortment of berry's. An array of Rhododendron shrubs, herbs, and perennial's make this a garden's paradise.
This charming, country home is quaint and cozy with a back veranda that is cloaked with a stunning purple Wisteria from early April until mid August. Many berry bushes and a fully fenced yard for pets and kids to run free! A short 4 minute walk to the beach with a spectacular view
Met all of our expectations for a trip with our newborn, toddler and dog. Quiet location, lots of yard space for toddler and dog, and excellent proximity to everything to explore in the valley. Well stocked kitchen and lots of space throughout the home. Would highly recommend!
We stayed for a month March 2018 with our two fur babies and we would highly recommend Kevin & Cheryl's cottage, the house was everything and more than we could of asked for and the huge yard was a bonus. We can hardly wait to return!!!

My husband and I spent 3 months at Cheryl and Kevin's vacation home. It was a perfect long term rental for us and our dogs! The house is spacious and clean. The dogs loved the huge back yard. It is close to so many places - the beach, Courtenay, Cumberland and all that Royston has to offer! The neighbours are friendly and helpful and Cheryl and Kevin are always available and respond quickly to questions or concerns. Thanks for sharing your home with us - we hope to come back again!
Just what we needed. Beds for everyone. Lots of room to gather and play board games. Big back yard. Well stocked kitchen. Close to near by shopping.
Very close to Cumberland bike trails and 19 access point, so easy to get to mount Washington. Close to Courtenay, and the seaside trails. We could have used another bathroom, but we are a family of five, and also a dishwasher would have been handy. We realize that being on septic makes the dishwasher a problem. The air conditioner and BBQ, made up for it though :)
We had a wonderful time at this charming bungalow on beautiful Vancouver Island. Cheryl was a welcoming and attentive host and the property was well equipped and spacious enough for our party of six. We enjoyed eating out on the wysteria clad deck and strolling down to the waterfront to enjoy the fireworks or jogging along the trails. Royston is a small, friendly community while the nearby towns of Courtenay and Comox have all you need in terms of supermarkets and dining options. Our hosts also provided some great suggestions for day trips and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting Seal Bay. We would really love to return for a longer stay to one of the most beautiful vacation spots on earth. Thanks for a great stay.
