At the heart of the Okanagan Valley's fruit and wine country, Mission Creek Country Inn is set on a sheep farm on Mission Creek between the historic log buildings of Pandosy Mission, Kelowna's first European settlement, and a regional park. There's lots to explore and experience in the farms 37 acres of pastures and woods-more like the Kelowna of 1909 when cattle and sheep were more common than today’s orchards and vineyards.
Our place isn’t luxurious in the usual sense; in over one hundred years of continual use the house has acquired some quirks and wrinkles. The farm, with its trees, pastures, flowers and animals is a special place which we feel happy to share with those who appreciate such things. That’s our luxury.
We’ve done our best to create a quiet rustic refuge for you to use as your headquarters to explore the Okanagan and experience a restful pace of life. You can visit the nearby wineries, golf courses, Okanagan lake, or the historic Kettle Valley railway’s Myra Canyon, or ride a bike on the nearby creek-side "greenway", then come home and visit out on the shady front porch—just like grandma usta do.
Owners Mark and Amber live in the basement and will do everything we can to make sure your stay is comfortable and relaxing.
That's me and my 1919 mother with Mission Creek in the background. Swapping palm trees for apple trees, I moved to Kelowna from Los Angeles to become an orchardist and start a family in 1981. Growing up in Southern California I became enamored with the early twentieth century Arts and Craft architectural style through examples like C&H Greene’s Gamble House and the Pasadena bungalows. So when the Kelowna General Hospital’s expansion forced removal or destruction for this eccentric shingle sided piece of early Kelowna architectural history, I took up the challenge, moved the house to my sister Sue’s sheep ranch and began a life work/labor of love restoration.
Mark Haley purchased this farmhouse in 1995
We’ve saved you an historic place on a beautiful working farm in an area renowned for visitor appeal. Come and enjoy your "Kelowna cottage"!
All went well
We stayed at the Mission Creek Country Inn for my best friend's stagette. Mark and Amber were super accommodating and friendly. The kitchen had everything we needed to whip up full meals and fun snacks, and the living room had a cozy atmosphere to socialize. This house was full of character and the perfect background for our girls weekend- the perfect mix of zen at the house and party in downtown Kelowna.
The only downfall is that the beds are a little stiff, but that can be found in even the most expensive hotels.
The house was also a little dusty, but somehow only added to the charm and home-y feeling. We were also sad that they no longer had goats :(
Overall, I would highly recommend staying here!
We rented the house for four days for a family get together. Mission Creek Inn was picture perfect. It had everything we needed. We loved everything about the house(the fireplace, the deck, the yard, the views and the baby lambs). Location is great, peaceful quiet country setting and still within five minutes from shopping. Mark was very kind and accommodating and we will visit again.
we rented the full house for five days for our daughter's wedding. Everything worked out beautifully. We set up a tent in the side yard and had 30 guests for dinner. House was full of guests for the five days. Amber and Mark were very accommodating. It was a perfect location for a rustic outdoor wedding. Bride and groom were very happy.
It is a second time I came to Amber and Mark's house. This time around I brought a group of friends with me and we stayed for three nights. It is a nice and peaceful location close to everywhere but far enough to escape from the city. Wonderful house with a lot of character, very nice farm with donkey Rene and sheeps and goats. There is also a rooster and you will hear it early in the morning. Guaranteed. I highly recommend staying in this B&B. Perfect for couples, families with children, solo travelers.
we were group of 12 people and stay in beautiful and heritage place for 2 nights we enjoyed every moment and everything we had around us.in mission Greek inn we had everything we needed from kichen to bedrooms.house was clean and the scenery from house was amazing my especial thanks from mark and family to allowing us to staying in wonderful place.I recommend this place to everyone.
Our 36 acre sheep farm is in a rural area but close to town. The close-by Mission Greenway linear park is a cool walking and biking trail that follows Mission Creek which forms the western boundary of the farm. The historic Kettle Valley Railway with it's trestles and tunnels is about 45 minute drive from our farm and well worth a visit.
