Our homes offer Free parking, FREE Wi-Fi and convenient key-less entry. Our homes have washer and dryers for your convenience. All the comforts of home!
*Beach information
The beach fronting the Royal Kahana experiences seasonal ocean current changes that influence the beach’s physical appearance and size. During the fall and winter, it is not uncommon that these currents sweep away a very large amount of sand, which will gradually return back in spring and summer, based on the ocean's current activity. Our homeowners Assoc., The County of Maui, and the State of Hawaii are working diligently to return Kahana Bay to its full potential.
This circumstance, unfortunately, affects the accessibility of our valued guests to the beach. While there may not be, at times, direct access from the property to the beach during the fall and winter season, there is a public beach access within 5 minutes walking distance.
Our guests' safety is of the utmost concern for us. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
You can stay updated on our ocean front access by viewing our web page, rkmaui(dot)com, and checking the postings on the homepage. We update the postings as soon as we receive new information from the resort.
My family owns several units at the Royal Kahana. We've spent many family vacations there over the last 30+ years and each year we are just a eager to return as the last. It is a spectacular resort.
Each home at the Royal Kahana is individually owned. Each unit is unique. We take great pride in offering a beautifully decorated, comfortably furnished home for our guests and we include many of the little extra amenities.
Many of our guests return year after year. Our homes have become their winter homes. We invite you to stay with us!
My wife and I have been to Maui several times and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Kahana. The room was very clean, well appointed, quiet and had a wonderful view of the sunset. Being a little further north allowed us quicker access to some of our favorite beaches. We will be coming back here!
The property location was perfect. Amazing views! We started everyday watching the whales jump while sipping our coffee on the balcony. Everyday called for rain but it only actually rained one day, whew. The pool was filled with extremely nice people. I'm assuming they are all "regulars" since everyone seemed to know everyone, or were just really friendly. The room was the perfect size for the 3 of us. We didn't need the air conditioning due to a really nice constant breeze, it was nice to know it was there. The kitchen was the perfect size. We stopped at Costco to get groceries on the way and we had no issues with storage space for everything. There were a few bags of good tasting coffee for us, which was great. All the necessary kitchen appliances were available, and then some.
Worth sharing:
-The front desk has more coffee for $1 a piece. Way cheaper than buying more at the store and not using majority of it.
-Rather than spending hundreds on snorkeling excursions, we walked across the street to the Maui Dive shop and rented snorkel equipment for the week for $25 a person. They provided us with a map of all the greatest snorkel spots on Maui and how to get there. (You definitely need to rent a car while staying on Maui).
-Maui Winery is gorgeous, a must see if you like wine even the slightest bit, but be prepared. The drive is not for the faint of heart. It's an extremely tight, winding, white knuckling drive up the mountain.
-Set up an excursion to see the sunrise on Haleakala, just know that it's not perfect every morning. It is weather permitting and IT IS COLD. We were told by others that they weren't able to go up due to black ice. If you are physically capable, do the option to bike down the volcano afterwards. It was an absolutely incredible experience, my 15 year old said it was his favorite part of the trip besides snorkeling.
-Shopping, beaches, food, everything you need is withing walking distance. Maui Brewing Company is right across the street, AMAZING selection of beers. Food was good and fairly priced. Highly recommended.
-Pack your lunches! There is cooler in the room to use (THANK YOU!). It saved us so much money for our snorkeling day trips!
I could go on for hours about our amazing vacation. My one and only complaint was that there were not beach towels in the room. I reported this, but it took a while to have some brought up so I had to buy some.
Highly recommended and we look forward to returning!!!! Thank You!!!
Owners extremely helpful and available. Great View of the water, mountains, and whales! Efficient room.

The location is great for vacationing. Room is a studio, everything you need for two people. Drawbacks or concerns: beach was closed due to sand erosion. Out of their control but advertised as good beach access. The beach isn’t gone for a day or week. This is longer term. Need to update that. Also, and I understand but the room is provisioned with really cheap items and completely generic supplies. However, managing your expectations with that, it’s a great place. Having a washer / dryer en suite is SO helpful. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends.
We really enjoyed our stay. The place has a wonderful view and it is really nice to have a stove, washer and dryer etc. Everything is clean and well cared for. The wind is a little problem and you have to be careful the lanai door is not open to avoid doors and items blowing around. We also missed having a good access to the ocean because of erosion and repairs. But the room was really nice.
The second morning at the condo we saw 75-100 breaches just off shore during breakfast. Unbelievable! The 10th. floor was perfect for early morning whale watching. We did about half our meals in the condo. Which is a lot more than what we normally do on vacation. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with. I am a ‘Retired ‘ chef and was completely happy with what I could do in this little kitchen. The rest of the place was nice. Everything was in good working order. Owners went above and beyond on questions that I had. We normally don’t stay in the same place. However we would come back here in a heartbeat. Mahalo Todd / Trina
Come see all that Maui has to offer!
A sunset cruise around the island makes for a perfect romantic evening. If you’re curious about what goes on under the waves, snorkeling tours are a great way to view the incredible variety of life that lives under the surface of the ocean. If you don’t want to get wet, there’s even a submarine that can take you into the deeps while you view its mysteries from the comfort of a warm cabin. Helicopter tours are an excellent way to take in views of the whole island, including incredible waterfalls, sea cliffs and forests you would be hard pressed to view on foot.
For those looking for a little more excitement, you can take an ATV tour or Zipline adventure, drive the road to beautiful Hana or watch the sunrise from Haleakala. Enjoy Maui's fabulous luaus (A favorite of mine is the Old Lahaina Luau), restaurants – you must try the Sunday brunch at the Ka’anapali Beach Resort), shops, art galleries and spas!
These tours and others can be arranged at the wonderful Concierge’s desk located in our main lobby at the Royal Kahana Resort. Maui is also a wonderful Island to explore on your own. You can make the morning drive up to Haleakala Sunrise. You can even bike ride down the volcano! I’ve not taken that ride, but my brother in-law has and said it was a great experience. I have driven to the seven sacred pools, several times and plan to go again – it’s a wonderful trip.
