Sit in your Living room and admire the Ocean from your East coast Nautically decorated 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo with new carpet and furnishings in 2013. The cute décor is enhanced by the owners attention to detail and necessary items you want on vacation. This condo is one of 4 condos in the same building, all owned by the same owner and all advertised also on VRBO (see Listings #s 511938, 511940, 511941, and 511942.

(ALL FOUR UNITS CAN BE RENTED TOGETHER FOR LARGER PARTIES, see listing #511938) The owners take pride in their 'beach homes' and are always available if needed.

Casa de la Playa uses high security numerical entry locks that negate the need for keys. The locks enable guests to have their own unique entry code that is time sensitive, and will not allow any others admittance during their stay.

Casa de la Playa's Ocean Front location enables you to step right out into the warm golden sand of Mission Beach, or just sit at your patio table and watch the people walk, bike, and skate by on Ocean Front Walk. Your vacation home is located in the 'quieter zone' in Mission Beach, near enough to walk to many restaurants and bars, but far enough to avoid the NOISE and traffic.

If you come on vacation and want to park your car, there is one designated parking space for each condo in the rear of the building that is large enough to accommodate most vehicles. There is easy bus access with a stop right on Mission Boulevard at the corner of Santa Clara Court if you want to use mass transit.

Casa de la Playa has a coin operated laundry on the premises for your convenience. The rates are lower than the Laundromat .

3677 Ocean Front Walk sleeps 6, using the sofa bed in the living room, and can be combined with 3681 Ocean Front Walk for a group of up to 10 persons. Combining both units allows a family to have room when desired, and privacy when desired. Invite your in laws to stay and close the suite doors in between the units at night to retain your own privacy. Each unit has a separate entry door with its own unique entry code. The patio in front of each condo is for use by that guest only.

Free wireless high speed internet is provided so you can keep connected.

Although San Diego never gets too hot nor too cold, this condominium has ceiling fans to circulate the air, and heat if you need to warm up after a swim in the cold Pacific Ocean.

Kitchen items include all dishes, utensils, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, and stove/oven combos. Starter supplies also provided of dish and hand soap, and paper towels, toilet paper, etc. All you need is your favorite food and beverages. There is a propane BBQ with propane tanks provided for each unit, so you don't need to share your BBQ!

This GROUND FLOOR unit makes it easy to enjoy a care free vacation in San Diego. You can feel safe since Lifeguard station #19 is really close by. Also, if you want to learn to surf, numerous surf schools operate on Mission Beach.

We have always loved the San Diego area. Although we grew up and now live in the Midwest, we visit our 'beach homes' as often as we can. We are always ready to do what we can to make your stay as a vacationer as comfortable as we can.

Why Paula Christensen chose Mission Beach

We saw this property for sale when we sold our farm and jumped at the chance to finally afford a beach property. Since we have owned it, we have learned a lot about ocean front living.

What makes this condo unique

We prefer to rent all the units, but occasionally when one is available, we take the opportunity to stay at the beach and enjoy San Diego ourselves. We love the ocean front sunsets and like to walk in the area, as well as take in some 'culture' at one of the many art venues in San Diego. We have stayed in all the units, so when we are here, we make sure that they have the needed supplies to keep our guests happy also!

Great Location

I come to San Diego often and this is the first time I stayed on the ocean side. This is an ideal location. You can walk to Belmont Park or to PB on the boardwalk. Plenty of restaurants right around the corner. The patio of this unit is a great gathering place to watch the sunset. The unit has everything you will need during your stay. The bedrooms are in the back of the unit which lends to quiet nights. I would stay here again.

Perfect location

Great location, owner communicated well, parking was easy, and coin operated washer/dryer was convenient. Would have been a 5 star rating, but the only complaint we had was the bedrooms had a LOT of dust built-up behind and under the beds which caused some allergy issues for the family during the fist night. We communicated to the owner who immediately offered to send out the cleaning crew to take of the concern, which was nice, but on our second day of a 4 day vacation, we didn't really want cleaners in the house. We spent about an hour cleaning so this wasn't a major issue, but I believe we left the house cleaner than when we arrived. Also, the linens could use an upgrade. With all that said, we would definitely stay again.

Owner's Response: We appreciate your telling us the housekeeping issues you found. Your comments have been forewarded to our housekeepers and inspector. Your stay was one week before one of our tri-annual total building cleanings, and we plan to replace all carpet in all condos on April 10 , so the under and beside the bed dust conditions were not looked at last November. Only traffic areas of the carpet and the upholstery were cleaned in November. We also plan on replacing much of the linen next week. You happened to stay the week before our “super clean”, so the unit was at its dirtiest. Of course, the housekeepers should be noticing dust buildup, and we will ask them to address this in the future. We hope you will give. Casa de la Playa another chance.

Great location and fun for families.

Great condo. Little disappointed that upstairs master bedroom did not have a bathroom. The front door needs to be painted because there is a lot of rust on it. Lots of cracked tiles in the kitchen area. These are cosmetic things. Again, it’s 2.00 to wash and 2.00 to dry clothes. I guess not so bad for the convenience. The location is great and the condo very comfortable. It was sunny the whole week but a bit chilly. Paula is great to respond if you need anything. My kids stayed upstairs while we stayed below them with another couple kids. I’ll come back for sure.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. We are glad that you plan to return again, but understand that there may be other places available without the cosmetic things you pointed out. We are concerned that your comments were written for 3677 Ocean Front Walk, yet they all pertain to 3679 Ocean Front Walk. 3677 is a two bedroom, two bathroom condo that can sleep six. 3679 Ocean Front Walk, (the other condo that your group rented), is a two bedroom, one bathroom condo with roof-top deck access that can sleep six. We have never advertised 3679 as being otherwise. Eleven of the 3679 kitchen floor tiles were somehow damaged by a previous guest. As they can not be matched, we hope to have the entire floor replaced next December. We can not guarantee this will be done before your next stay. The 3679 door does have some rust. Anything metal rusts due to the moist, salty ocean air. Paint is only a very temporary solution. In time, we will replace the door with a non-metallic one. It is our last metallic door. Regarding the laundry, we have never advertised it as free. There is no room for laundry equipment in the individual condos, so we provide our guests with the option of using on-site appliances at reasonable cost. We do not intend to change this policy. In past years, the laundry was free, which became widely known to nearby local residents. We are glad you had good weather. San Diego does not really have bad weather, but it does rain in the winter, and may be cloudy or windy at times.

Never disappointed!

This is our first choice no matter what the occasion for a stay on Mission Beach. The units are always clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances. The beds are comfortable and the linens first rate.

Sometimes we find that getting a rental car is not needed, with the major grocery only a mile away, and the bus stop only one block away.
