A 12th generation cape codder built this home to raise our family. The children are grown and we built a smaller empty nest home that we now reside in.
The property is located in a secluded yet connected wooded area that abuts the cape cod rail trail chatham bike trail section. The property allows for a restfull vacation yet close to all the beaches and activities of chatham and cape cod.
Direct access to cape rail trail and close to all chatham south side beaches
Steve & Stephanie, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your W Chatham home! We had two families and one grandparent (9 total) and the house was spacious for all of us to enjoy - and not be on top of each other. The large deck was especially nice in the evening for grilling and dinner outside. And our 4 kids loved s'mores nightly at the fire pit. The home was well stocked with all that we needed - including pillows & comforters (which we brought just in case). The kitchen had plenty of items to use for our meals in. We especially enjoyed that the house was very well maintained and VERY clean. The basement movie room was great for the kids - plenty of games and movies for all ages. Thank you - we had an awesome 11 days at your property - we'll definitely be back.
The house comfortably accommodated our family who were up on the Cape for a wedding weekend. There are plenty of places to sit & relax in the house & the kitchen & dining area is large & well-stocked with anything you might need. The house is clean & well appointed with up-to-date appliances & nicely designed, open kitchen.
There are two very large master bedrooms, one of which is off by itself. That said, we noticed that sound travels easily in the house; this is particularly so in the other second floor queen bedroom - it has an open ceiling so the noise from first floor living space is quite audible. There is also a bedroom with 2 twin beds as well as space to sleep in basement although we did not use that area at all.
We did have a minor problem finding the house since it appears to now be on a new road - we had thought the address was 39 Aunt Zilpa's Road extension (address on the lease) but there was no such address to be found. The house is entered off an unpaved road & is marked as #42. The house address appears to be on Edgewood Circle which begins at the end of paved road of Edgewood Drive.
All in all, this is a very nice house. It's close to the bike path & not far off from Rte 28 with shops & places to eat. We would certainly recommend it as a great place to stay with a large family.
Beautiful, comfortable home and close to Chatham beaches. Perfect for our family reunion at Thanksgiving. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. I will definitely consider renting it again.
We had a wonderful weekend in Chatham and loved our stay at the house. There was a ton of space indoors and outdoors, and it was more than comfortable for 8 guests. We found everything we needed close by including the beach, the rail trail, public tennis courts, and a great lunch spot. We were only here for a short stay (arrived late Friday and left Sunday morning), but would definitely come back. The A/C did not really work in the room with the twin beds, but the other rooms the units were dated but seemed to work okay. The cleaning fee was high for a short stay, but we understand it's probably standard. Overall, we loved our stay- thank you for having us!
Our family rented this home Labor Day Weekend for my nephew's wedding at Wychmere Beach Club (less than 10 minutes away). It met...actually exceeded all our needs perfectly. It was clean and well maintained. We had lots and lots of space....our initial walk thru was will this house ever end? THere was more than enough room for ten adults to get ready for rehearsal dinner and wedding. We did not cook at all, but the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. We had our coffee both mornings on the large deck. Another huge plus was the home is right on the rail trail. We pedaled down to the airport restaurant , Hangar, (5 min) for a delicious breakfast then rode the trail and went to Red River Beach. The home is close to Downtown Chatham where there are many great shops and places to eat. The threat of effects from hurricane Hermine amounted to nothing....we had great weather...maybe Steve, the owner had something to do with that? He checked in with us and offered help if we needed it...we didn't. On a side note.....there is a Keurig coffee pot in addition to the drip pot that is listed on the lease. Also our gps had us entering from a very dark dirt road...a scary road at night. Steve informed us on the 2nd day that we could also access the house another way...so def check that out if you stay here. It was a great weekend and we would certainly visit again and recommend to friends.
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming Chatham vacation rental. The house is clean and well maintained, has a well stocked kitchen, and even a closet filled with games and toys for kids! The bike path is literally in the back yard and it's a quick drive to most places on the Cape! We easily fit two families, two sets of grandparents, and a dog! Only complaint is one of the upstairs bedrooms did not have AC which made in unusable. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to family and friends!
