Located in The Villages, a highly sought-after gated development in the Mauna Lani Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii, this residence speaks volumes in its hushed tones and gentle space. It is appointed with every convenience and luxury an expectant visitor anticipates, and a highly educated and amiable property manager is available to address any special needs or requests.

It is the outdoors for which you’ve journeyed to Hawaii, and this home offers several different select spots to enjoy them. There is a cozy lanai off the kitchen area, as well as the expansive back lanai off the living and dining areas, south-facing and yet afforded with abundant shade. The view through the sliding glass doors of the great room on the main floor, as well as the full-room-width disappearing pocket lanai doors, boasts a brilliant green landscape of the property, as well as the colossal dormant volcano Hualalai in the distance. Ocean-tipped breezes laced with plumeria transport the outdoors within, including through the patio doors off the shaded upstairs Master Bedroom private lanai. You will hear no noise except the many different birds singing and chirping; it’s dead quiet and peaceful here.

Entertaining is easy in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen, where spacious island, divided sink, and handy double dishwasher drawers accompany the workhorse appliances (Sub-Zero fridge, Wolf stove, Wolf range, and Wolf microwave). As well, the outdoor kitchen on the rear lanai, with gas grill, refrigerator, and sink, suggest to guests that local Ono on the barbecue and Pina Coladas in the blender might be as advanced a plan for the day as any. And you can relax inside with three flat screen high definition Samsung TVs with cable, stereo system with ceiling speakers throughout, DVD player, CD player, wireless internet, and free long distance calling to the mainland United States and Canada.

The home has a self-contained suite on the main floor with en-suite and two self-contained suites on the top floor (master suite and junior master suite), both with en-suite bathrooms, large closets, and many luxurious finishes throughout such as solid mahogany doors, mahogany trim, cherry kitchen and outdoor cabinets, granite counter tops, natural stone flooring, and luxurious bed linens and towels.

The home is in a tranquil and peaceful setting, offering the ultimate in privacy. It has a tremendous buffer from other units, as it is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no neighbor on the west side. It faces south and west, is filled with sun, and the enormous lawns on two sides of the home offer a perfect place for your children to play or for you to wile the hours away sunbathing with a good book. Perched high in the complex, the home offers pleasant views of the mountains from the top floor. This unit can accommodate parking in the driveway for 2 vehicles maximum (no garage access).

Guests at The Villages enjoy exclusive use of The Villages' amenity center with a well-equipped exercise room and fresh water swimming pool. A beautiful private beach club with a full restaurant right on the beach is a short drive or 15 minute walk from the unit, available only to owners and guests staying in Mauna Lani, and offering unparalleled safe swimming and snorkeling on a white sandy beach. Discounted rates for golf at two championship courses within the Mauna Lani Resort, the former home of the MasterCard Senior Skins Championship, is also available.

This beautiful home is very convenient, being just a short walk to Tommy Bahama's, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and more. A gourmet grocery store is also within walking distance for you to stock up on your favorite foods, so you can prepare some of your meals on the spacious lanai. You may not need your car until it's time to return to the airport, unless you wish to visit some of the world class beaches and other interesting sites which are within minutes. The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Fairmont Orchid are only two of the many fine dining destinations nearby. Beyond the resort, Kona to the south, Hawi to the north, and Kamuela to the northeast offer dozens of excursion and event options. Be sure you plan for enough fun-filled days to go along with the days you will spend at this home, resting after doing nothing.

I would like to thank you for the success of our 5 day rental experience in the Villages at Mauna Lani, and I hope you will pass on our thanks to the owners of Unit #623. The house was very lovely, all possible accoutrements included, nice back yard in which we practiced Tai Chi in the mornings, and walkable neighborhood. Very nice to have the market so close by. It was mostly very quiet, we liked that. We loved the big rooms and tasteful appointments of the home: wooden blinds, shells, lovely paintings. We did not use the outdoor grille; we did use the clothes washer & dryer; the dishwasher; the A/C; and most of all, the Beach Club. That was the cherry on top, a really nice area with a lifeguard, cabanas, beach chairs, safe swimming, some fish to peruse, sun, safety, beauty...a great benefit! We had an expensive dinner there on our last evening on the Big Island. Excellent service & food.

Thank you so much for fulfilling my expectations.

Great spot!!

This place was awesome. The unit itself was in pristine condition, nice sized rooms, great layout. The private garden area made it a super private place to hang out. The neighborhood was charming and the people we saw were very friendly. It was walking distance to anything you need. My only complaint is that the pool towels need to be replaced, as they were permanently stained. I hope this is available next time we go?!
