Our one-bedroom suite is the beach level of our home, private entrance, separate bedroom with Queen bed, full kitchen, living room with fireplace, full bathroom, deck with BBQ & exclusive use of a 4-person hot tub. The unit is pet-friendly. Wifi throughout the property, satellite TV, private parking. Breakfast supplies are provided to make your own. View of the inlet, Mount Ozzard across the bay. Beautiful sunrises, sunsets, bird watching, sea lions frolicking. Lots of bald eagles year-round, many deer walk around town. Easy access (4 blocks) to Main Street, restaurants & stores. Wild Pacific Trail is walking distance, as is the Ucluelet Aquarium.
We moved here to Ucluelet from Vancouver in 1997, and added the one-bedroom suite in 2007.
Marilyn McEwen & Lance Blackwell purchased this house in 1997
We loved the idea of a waterfront property, having lived on a floathome in Vancouver for 11 years prior to moving here. The half acre property allows us to maintain privacy for ourselves & our guests. The West Coast of Vancouver Island has a rugged beauty that is unmatched anywhere else in B.C.
There is always something to watch on the waterfront -- fishboats coming & going, sea lions frolicking, bald eagles fishing, kayakers meandering by.
The accommodations were spacious. We stayed in the suite which was very comfortable. The bed was very comfy and it was great to hear the sea lions right outside our door. It was great to have fixings for breakfast and the kitchen was well stocked with the basics. I will definitely go back.
We loved our stay in Ucluelet! The suite was quiet with amazing views. It was so nice to have our dog welcomed as well. The property is in walking distance to trails and downtown. The amazing surfing beaches are only a 15 minute drive. We would love to stay again.
We knew the moment we stepped into our suite that we wanted to extend our stay! Why go through the hassle of looking anywhere else? Anchors Inn was cozy and clean. The kitchen was very well equipped and thoughtfully stocked with basics for our first breakfast. Main room had a fireplace and cozy views with comfortable couches. The bedroom was very comfortable and spacious. Discovering a hot tub heated and waiting for us was a special surprise!
Marilyn's cozy suite feels like I never left my home.. but with a side or talkative seals right outside your door! The comfy couches, very comfy bed, hot tub, private beach and all the small touches, made us feel so very relaxed for the few days we stayed there. The kitchen is stocked and they even left coffee, eggs, orange juice and English muffins to have a yummy breakfast. Our puppy loved the carpet throughout the house as she's older and hardwood floors are slippery for her. I also adore that Marilyn donates the pet fee to the local SPCA. The hosts are as accessible as you want them to be! When you need them, they are very communicative... If you don't, they give you all the privacy you want! The drive into town to the COOP and the local restaurants is incredibly short, as is the drive to the Wild Pacific Trail. If you want to visit Tofino, you are only a 30 minute drive away (20 only to Long Beach). Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely return!
Anchors Inn has two cabins and a fully furnished, modern suite that includes a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy gas fireplace, a private hot tub and more, all overlooking a wild, rocky beach that is only steps from the suite’s front door. My two dogs (who were made to feel very welcome) and I spent hours exploring the beach. We were entertained day and night by a large harbour seal who loved the sound of his own voice.
Our hosts were available to answer any urgent questions at all times, but they certainly made sure that we enjoyed total privacy during our stay.
If we return to Ucluelet again, Anchors Inn will definitely be our first choice for accommodation. We will also recommend Anchors Inn to friends and acquaintances planning trips to Ucluelet. We had a super relaxing, rejuvenating time.
Very nice place to stay, well maintained, roomy with all the kitchen amenities. We liked the quiet private surroundings (the barking seals in the harbour one morning was a great touch and added to our enjoyment of this place). Although we didn't bring our dog this time it was evident that they are welcome here.
Marilyn and Lance are lovely people, not intrusive at all but helpful when needed. They provided breakfast items, very handy and appreciated. For groceries we shopped at the local co-op on Peninsula St and of course hit the local liquor store, both well stocked!
Really enjoyed staying at the Anchors Inn, highly recommend it.
The Wild Pacific Trail is a spectacular walking trail along the outer coastline of Ucluelet. The Ucluelet Aquarium is open March through November, right at the foot of Main Street. Pacific Rim National Park is a 10-minute drive and boasts some of Canada's most beautiful beaches & trails. Whale watching March through October for Humpback & Grey Whales. Lots of wildlife -- sea lions, seals, deer, raccoon, bald eagles. Great bird watching! World class surfing conditions, fantastic storm watching November through March. Lots of festivals year-round: Pacific Rim Whale Festival, Oyster Festival, Food & Wine Festival, Lantern Festival, Bird Festival -- something for everyone!
