Great experience and great owners.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay, the location was very convenient to the grocery store, restaurants, bus stops, and the Fairmont hotel. Our rooms were very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. We had everything needed to clean, brooms, mops dustpan. Plenty of towels. Jean Marie always checked to make sure we had everything we needed. My family was even invited over for dessert on Christmas night. We enjoyed our stay. The location allowed us to use all of the amenities of the Fairmont Hotel, which was really a bonus because at Christmas time most of the businesses close around 5 pm. We were able to go movies, roast Smores, play soccer golf as well as go to tea time.

Wonderful accommodation in perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

My small family of three departed Bermuda yesterday, but we will not forget this wonderful Inn. Jean-Marie & Russell were so accommodating from the moment we arrived, to our departure. It was a great location in which to tour other parishes of Bermuda. Easy walk to Horseshoe Bay Beach, which was amazing. Close enough to walk to a grocery market, close to a nice little take out restaurant, which we went to often. We walked to Gibb's Lighthouse, and the Railway Trail (take the trail to the right for a spectacular view while you walk) so those was a perfect walks as well. Quiet, clean and beautiful grounds with Hibiscus, and all sorts of other flowering shrubs I cannot spell, filled the eye's with color, just coming from a place with snow still on the ground, this was truly memorable. The "bus stop" is close by and Jean-Marie offered help with stops, "how to's" and we bought a book of tickets from her, so we didn't have to find the PO to buy them. They helped us with anything we needed, so it was perfect for anyone who needs help on their trips. All in all, I cannot say enough about Wade's Garden Inn, truly a wonderful place to rest your head and for a base camp in the middle of many sites to see. At some point, we hope to return and we highly recommend this to anyone!!! Oh...you will not find a country with such nice people as this, simply a pleasure to be amongst them, even for only a week! Thank you Jean-Marie & Russell for opening your home which is in such a gorgeous part of the world, for those of us who need to get away from it all!!!

PERFECTION!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Russell and Jean Marie for being the perfect hosts! Russell met us at the airport and Jean Marie was waiting to give us a warm welcome when we arrived at the Inn. Since we decided to use the efficient and easily available bus system, Jean Marie made sure that we knew which bus to use and even provided tickets and a map to get us started. My husband, son, daughter-in-law and I were very pleased with the accommodations – and I am a VERY picky person! The rooms were clean, bright and decorated nicely. From breakfast on the patio overlooking Jean Marie’s garden, to evening conversations in the adjoining lounge, we were always very comfortable. Wade’s Garden Inn is the perfect place to stay!

Studio Apartment near Horseshoe Bay Beach w/access to Fairmont Southampton Facilities 5 Stars *****

  • 5 of 5

We spent 10 nights at Wade's Garden Inn and had a fantastic vacation. We stayed in the Hibiscus Suite and found the room and Inn to be safe, clean and comfortable. Bermuda in the summer is hot and humid, but there were two A/C units (one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom) that were powerful and efficient (quickly cooling both rooms even though we always turned them off when leaving). Many nights we walked to the outdoor deck of the Waterlot restaurant and had drinks and snacks while watching the sunset and listening to local singer-songwriters (drink prices are steep, so watch for drink specials: the 1/2 price pitchers of Sangria one night was a welcome surprise).

We also spent a few nights at the Jasmine Lounge up at the Southampton Fairmont Hotel (offering a live band and dancing). Access to the SH shuttle makes this Inn a tremendous value -- you have many of the amenities of the hotel and a shuttle directly to Horseshoe Bay with all the conveniences and privacy of a studio apartment (the kitchen contains everything but an oven). Wade's provided beach chairs, umbrellas, noodles, and sand toys but we didn't feel comfortable carrying beach chairs on the SH shuttle, so we rented chairs @ the beach for $15/per person, per day (still a relative bargain). The only thing missing is access to a swimming pool, but who goes to Bermuda to swim in a pool?! The beaches on the island are amazing...clean and beautiful; and the locals are friendly.

The bus stop that takes you in to Hamilton town one way, or to Dockyard the other is a few minutes walk up or down the hill...there is a large grocery store with assorted fast-food restaurants just 2 bus stops or a 20 minute walk up the road, and a local fast-food restaurant ~ Wok Express ~ offering an assortment of cuisines (Chinese, Middle Eastern, American, etc.) just a 5 minute walk up the road.

Wade's most valuable asset is the couple that owns and manages it -- Russell and Jean-Marie Wade. We had the pleasure of speaking with both at length (we hired Russell's taxi to take us to/from the airport and on a short tour of the area surrounding the Inn on the way to the grocery store on the day we arrived <-- the tour and grocery run were offered @no charge -- and we ran in to and had lunch with Jean-Marie in downtown Hamilton one afternoon). They both take great pride in the Island, the Inn and their dedication to the local community.

We had a great experience at Wade's Garden Inn and would highly recommend it.

Awesome anniversary celebration!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I went to Bermuda to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We went to Bermuda for our honeymoon, and again to celebrate our 25th and 30th. Each time we have always stayed in a different place. We loved Wade's Garden Inn! Jean-Marie was always so responsive in a timely manner to my emails and always answered all my questions promptly. When we arrived, Russell was there waiting for us at the airport and greeted us warmly. We stayed in the Pineapple Suite. Very spacious and clean! They had a coffee pot, dishes, fridge, toaster, microwave, stove. Everything you need if you want to stay in. The room was very very clean. You can tell that they take pride in their house and rooms. We usually had breakfast in our room and then ate out for lunch and/or dinner. Loved the bakery next to the grocery store (can walk to it along a sidewalk) and the Chinese restaurant was almost across the street. Very centrally located. Jean-Marie and Russell treated us like family. In fact, they even invited us and the other couple to a family BBQ. We got to meet alot of their family and friends and everyone was so friendly to us. We left feeling like we were part of their family. We will never stay anywhere else in Bermuda. Wades' Garden Inn is very reasonably priced, very centrally located and very very clean! Had a wonderful anniversary (Jean-Marie even called to wish us a Happy Anniversary!) on our vacation to Bermuda. We can't wait to go back again and we just got home yesterday!

Paradise in Paradise!!!

  • 5 of 5

Where do I start. We booked both suites as we were bringing our 4 yr old grandson and our daughter. The inn is kept spotless there is everything you need in the kitchen. The bedrooms are beautiful and the bathroom is well kept and clean. The pics don't do the inn justice. The inns owners go above and beyond to assist to make your stay the best it possibly can be. They were there to answer all and every question you may have before you even arrive. I emailed several times before arrival and was always answered in a timely fashion, and the inn is close to a major hotel and beaches. Literally 3 minutes to get up to the hotel then on to the beach.I had mention to the owner to recommend some places for fish chowder, she had given me her recommendations and asked us during our stay if we had managed to get there. Unfortunately with a 4 yr old it was too far to walk to. So the next day she drops off 3 chowders and a potato bacon soup and I was in heaven. Buses and ferries are the way to travel on the island if you need to do alot of travelling while you are there. The owner is also a taxi driver and will pick you up and drop you off at the airport. Also after you get all set up up he will give you a short tour and take you to get groceries when you arrive at no fee. A wonderful touch for first time visitors. The grocery store is a 10 min walk and my wife and I did it a couple of times during our stay. Its an easy walk. There is a pizza place and small take out place in the same mall and the food was good and not very expensive. there is also a take out place for chinese and other type foods just down the street from the inn, 2 min walk. We didn't get a chance to eat there but wish I would have. The daily rate for the inn in my opinion is the best on the island and our hosts are the nicest people you ever want to meet. They gave us all the space we wanted but were absolutely there to help anytime we had a question. We left feeling like we were family not just guests and they were fantastic with my grandson as well and shadow the family dog though getting up in years is wonderful my grandson kept watching for him Love you Shadow!! Please visit this inn you will be glad you did Thank you so much to our new Bermuda family. We will see you again soon.
