Outside amenities.

Main deck….Has Muskoka chairs, gravity loungers, three seat garden swing(great for reading with a drink or pot of tea just within reach) it also has the best view ever!,

There is an outside patio table with umbrella and chairs for outside meals. We love breakfasts/lunches served on the deck. Who needs to go to a restaurant, nowhere is nicer than our deck overlooking the lake while having a meal. Assorted tables to rest your drinks and snacks on.

Dock … patio furniture. Canoe/paddles and row boat/oars and adult life jackets. Children’s jackets not provided due to weight constrictions. Safety kits for watercraft. Some water toys e.g. pool noodles. Marina boat launch close to the cottage. (Northland Recreation) Nominal fee charged.

Fire pit with benches overlooking the lake for marshmallow roast, song fests, or just enjoy looking at the fire. Firewood provided.

Large BBQ (propane provided)

The moonlight at night from the easterly direction reflects right across the lake in front of our shore and is wonderful to see. Lots of stars on a clear night. Very romantic. Try to identify the stars.

At the lakefront we have a wonderful stone patio surrounded by gardens. A pleasant, shady place to sit and have a beverage or snack while looking all the way down the lake and to watch the ducks, loons and boats go by.

There is a rock formation protruding into the lake (The Rock Dock) to the left of the boat dock and the stone patio. You can access the water gradually from the rock or just sit on it listening to the lake lap at your feet. The kids enjoy looking in the small pools and crevices for tiny fish, frogs etc. and to just explore/play on the rocks. To the right of the dock, along the natural shoreline we have water plants where the Heron likes to fish. Keep watch for this magnificent bird. If you don't scare him/her you will see him catch a fish.

A Hammock is available for relaxing, daydreaming and snoozing under the trees. If you want to share that is ok too.

3 mile lake was stocked many years ago with small and large mouth Bass, Pickerel Walleye, Pike and an assortment of smaller fish. The lake is now reaping the benefit of the healthy growth of good size fish. We have caught large fish off the end of the dock.

The boating Dock is approx 16’ in length. The depth of water at end of dock approx 4’ (July and Aug.) The depth may fluctuate according to the dry or wet conditions.

Lakefront is approx 140’ with the previously mentioned deck, dock and a rock area.

Property faces east and the main deck has a shady and a sunny areas. The waterfront deck has sunshine from sunrise to sunset with part filtered shade depending upon the time of day.

Cottage binder Over the years of being fortunate to own a piece of Muskoka we have discovered places to go and explore. For your convenience we have prepared a binder with all kinds of information for operation of the cottage, places to go, eat, play or explore. We will leave brochures of attractions in the areas you might wish to visit.

Santa's village in Bracebridge. Rudolf's play land with mini golf, batting cage, rope climbing, zip line, go cart track. Hanna's park in Port Carling, custom playground with beach and swimming, picnic tables A farmer's market on Thursday mornings. Fish hatchery on Skeleton lake with a secret trail through the bush to an amazing waterfall with swimming pond. A great favourite with my family members. Take a picnic lunch. Port Carling has numerous boutiques. restaurants and has a great park near the locks and if you are lucky you can see the famous steamship the Segwin go through the locks between Lakes Muskoka and Rosseau. The Segwin and her sister ship the Winona cruise through the lakes and you can book a short or a longer cruise with dinner. Windermere House is worth a visit. It is a historic hotel. It is also known as The Lady of the Lakes. originally built in 1870 and rebuilt 1997 when it burned down during the filming of the Long Kiss Goodnight. Good pub, golf/tennis
