Driver will have your name written on a card for you to see at the airport. If you want to rent a car at airport we will send detailed directions and map to villa. Romantic, relaxing and the view was even more stunning than the photos.

  • 5 of 5

The villa is set on a hillside with a direct, unobstructed view of the Pitons and the sea. The outdoor seating areas are expansive and arranged over three decks. The main bedroom has a small, open deck. The main floor has a covered seating and dining area, and an open seating area which is perfect for watching the amazing sunsets. The lower pool level has an area for sun beds and a covered area which can be used for al fresco massages. The view is stunning and postcard-worthy. We couldn’t stop taking photos!

The staff are also amazing. Lion is the perfect driver and knowledgeable tour guide and makes a mean fish broth. Make sure you spend a day touring with him. Eddie keeps the garden and pool area immaculate. Glenda keeps the villa spotless. She cooked for us one evening and made a 4 course extravaganza of local delights such as pumpkin soup, salad with garlic dressing, breadfruit balls, christophene au gratin, stewed chicken, dashene and sweet potato and of course the national dish, green fig salted codfish. Dessert was banana flambé. Of all the meals we ate during our stay, we enjoyed the meals that Glenda and Lion made the most. Charlene was also very active and informative when it came to planning and booking local activities.

We came for our 30th wedding anniversary and renewed our vows on Anse Mamin beach. This was the perfect day organized by the staff at Anse Chastanet Resort. Burns the photographer was awesome.

We also enjoyed the Sulphur Springs, Lion’s ‘power shower’ at Touraille Waterfall, a tour of Diamond Head Botanical Garden, and a creole buffet lunch at the outdoor picturesque Fond Doux Plantation.

We stayed local but left many activities undone so that we could return to the villa in the near future.

Absolutely Breathtaking! You will be hard-pressed to find a better view of Petit Piton!

  • 5 of 5

This charming villa and the people who come with it are fantastic. Charlene ( property manager ) was at the ready to help with anything from

Pre-stocking kitchen to making our reservations. Her knowledge of the island was extremely helpful when planning out daily excursions. Waking up to Glenda’s warm hello and delicious breakfast was a great start to our day and the villa was always spotless ! Lion, driver and cook, took us to the fish market on arrival and whipped up a delicious supper. We highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity. He is an excellent guide and his dinners involved a real local flare and knowledge we would have missed if we went at it alone.

The villa was perfect for our family of 4. We took advantage of all Soufrière had to offer and Hermitage Jewel is perfectly situated to do so. One of our best vacations hands down!

Personal favs...Jungle Bike at L’Anse Chastanet.( food is really good too)

Beach and snorkel , L’Anse Chastanet.

Climbing Gros Piton( go early)

Romantic dinner , Jade Mountain

Different kind of Caribbean vacation

  • 3 of 5

We were two couples who stayed one week in early March. We have stayed on many different islands, but never this far away from the ocean. Lion met us at the airport and stopped for fish and groceries (as previous reviews mention) and returned to prepare dinner a few days later. We had enough for leftovers several nights. We didn’t venture far for dinners out because of the poor road conditions and amount of time that it took to get anywhere. We had one dinner at Boucan (Hotel Chocolat) and one at Dasheene (Ladera). Both were lovely settings. The views from the villa were magnificent although as stated, we were much further away from the beach than we expected. Lion did drive us to Anse Chastanet beach one day but the road was very treacherous and full of pot holes and took awhile to get there. The villa was charming but more rustic than expected. Birds flew in and out of the kitchen landing on dishes and food and geckos scurried across the floors and climbed the walls in downstairs bedroom and bathrooms. Mosquito netting on beds was much appreciated. The water pressure in all 3 showers was terrible! We tried them all to see if one was better, but they were all bad. Glenda was one of the best aspects of the villa. She prepared delicious breakfasts and did the daily housekeeping. The pool was nice for cooling off , however the ladder needed a lower step as it was difficult to climb out of the pool. All in all, it was a relaxing trip but not our favorite Caribbean experience.

Everything we hoped for !

  • 5 of 5

Our week was an awesome experience from the moment we got picked up from the airport by Lion until he dropped us off a week later. I could repeat everything that has already been said about the Villa itself in other reviews, but really no need. It is all true. The view from the back deck is breath taking from morning to night. That said, the whole island is beautiful. The villa is well appointed and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. Eddie the groundskeeper is very pleasant and keeps the grounds looking like a small tropical paradise. The pool was useful for an occasional dip to cool off from any sunbathing. The villa is very private, despite a non visible villa on each side of it. The temps were always comfortable in the 70's to 80's with a nice breeze. There were no bugs the whole week, neither in the villa or on our outings. Don't be afraid to use the real charcoal grill out back if you like to grill outside. Eddie was eager to pick up real charcoal for us, and insisted on cleaning it after each use. Lion the driver really made our trip enjoyable. He has a lot of connections throughout the island and always made us feel comfortable wherever we went. He is very fond of St. Lucia and loves to share the culture with you. He would take the back roads sometimes to destinations to point out all of the different farming areas, crops, fruit and nut trees(of which there are MANY ) Don't pass up on the opportunity to have him stop and get some fresh fish from the fishing village on way back from drive from the airport pickup. He helped us pick up a Mahi Mahi right off the little fishing boat as it came to the dock. They filleted it for a reasonable tip. Lion insisted on prepping it when we arrived at the villa with local marinade and spices we picked up with groceries obtained on the way to villa. We had several evening meals from that one fish. Although we enjoyed every outing with Lion, we also tried out the local "bus" (big vans) system just for the experience. It is only ~$1 US to travel into Souffrie after walking from villa to bus stop at bottom of the hill( ~ 10 minutes). You can walk to the sulfur springs from the villa ~ 15 minutes, some steep hills.

Glenda the housekeeper was delightful every morning. She preps amazing BF's with local fruit. She kept the place spotless. Also full of island knowledge. Running out of room, bottom line- loved everything; villa, location, outings, all staff(including Charlene and Kate)!

Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

We travel a lot and this has got to be one of the very best homes we have stayed at. We were greeted at the airport by a driver who took us to the villa and through the week took us to beaches and one day to a nearby town for market and helped us buy local fish and herbs. then he spent an hour or so at the villa preparing the fish and marinade and explaining the whole process. we ate as St Lucians for 2 days on that treasure. The property manager checked in on us several times and visited to ensure everything about our stay was working smoothly. Eddie the gardener was there virtually every day cleaning the pool and grounds, and he always had a joke and a pleasant greeting. Our housekeeper Glenda came 6 days per week and prepared a gourmet breakfast with excellent local coffee and fruits. She always had a smile, kept the villa spotless and was a wealth of information about the local attractions. The home itself was magnificent. Made of stone and beautiful wooden doors with a spectacular view of the Pitons and Sugar Beach. Quite simply a perfect vacation spot.

Excellent property

  • 5 of 5

Just got home a few days ago from an 11-night stay at this villa. Traveling were two adults and two children (ages 20 and 22). We loved it!

Special recognition should go to Glenda, our housekeeper/cook. We eagerly anticipated her breakfast each morning. Loved the fresh juices and smoothies she made. Her omelettes, crepes and Johnnycakes were also a great hit! We also were able to work it out for Glenda to come back one night and cook dinner for us. Another huge hit! She made a full dinner, much like what locals might have for a nice Sunday dinner. Wish we would have arranged for her to make more dinners for us... Glenda also did a fantastic job of keeping the house clean and tidy. Plus, she's just a genuinely nice person.

Most of the days we went on adventures with Lion as our driver. He did a great job bringing us to local beaches, bakeries, restaurants, and a small place in Laborie that served fried chicken, fried dumplings, and "local juice" (delicious! passion fruit and lime the day we went).

We also spent a couple days just relaxing at the house, soaking up the setting (Eddie does a great job maintaining the grounds) and enjoying the sun and pool.

Charlene (house manager) was also in frequent communication and booked us a 4-wheeler trip (with Mystic Man Adventures) through the countryside. On that trip we visited two old sugar mills and two secluded beaches. Pickup and drop-off at the house was included.

Can't say enough about the setting. Not sure what we'll do with the huge number of sunset and rainbow pictures we took. The views are so amazing they look as if they've been photoshopped.

All in all, an excellent rental!
