About Yuma Vacation Rentals

We are a military family, stationed in lovely Yuma. Our family consists of three beautiful children and a gentle husky. We purchased the Morelos House in 2013 and spent most of the year putting the last touches and upgrades into it to get it ready for our guests.

Our favorite spots to frequent are Lotus Day Spa, Donut Coral, and Daybreakers.

Honestly, we just fell in love with it when we saw it. It was simply breathtaking all the care and work that was put into our future home, not to mention the spectacular views of the mountains. Our house is located in a safe, quiet neighborhood, nestled into a great foothills community and close to shopping and dining.

What makes this house unique

As many house-hunters will agree, after viewing dozens of homes, they all start to look alike after a while. Not so for the place on Morelos Drive. As soon as you step inside, the great room immediately pulls you in and the spaciousness of the combined dining, living and kitchen area has a relaxing effect. And, the details really are astounding. Never before had we seen the quality of granite chosen to cover the seemingly ENDLESS counters in the (state-of-the-art) kitchen as well as in both bathrooms. The slabs of shining stone are works of art in themselves. Finally the pool, with all its therapy jets, swimming currents and underwater light shows.... we were sold. We knew we had found a one-of-a-kind property that we will enjoy for years to come.

Very Pleased

We very much enjoyed our 5 week stay. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had and took the time to inquire about our needs.The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The pool was maintained by professionals and was comfortably heated. The backyard campfires were an added treat.This was our first visit to Yuma and this house—we will be back next year!! Thank you to the owners for providing us with such a positive experience.

Great owner but not the most comfortable place...

I hate leaving this type of review but I also don't feel right just ignoring it. The owners were super nice and responsive to us. This was the most we have ever paid for a month away and it was also the most uncomfortable. Looks beautiful but needs some attention to detail. There were a number of problems. When we arrived the home was not clean (hair in the master shower drain gave me the creeps, dust bunnies under most of the furniture and corners in the master bedroom and the same in the living room). The owner did not charge us the cleaning fee upon departure. The furniture was very uncomfortable and, for us, the bed was very hard. We bought a foam topper for it and the owner did reimburse us. The barbecue was beyond filthy and we only used it a couple of times with a copper mat. My husband tried to clean it up but it just was too big of a job and there really wasn't supplies to do a proper job. The owner said they planned to replace it (but not while we were there). They scheduled some work on the roof shortly after we arrived and said January was the only time it could be done. That was a noisy situation and took place over a three day period. This created a leak in the ceiling (not dripping, just a water bubble) which required us to be available for the roofer to come back and check it out. The garbage disposal didn't work and that took several days to resolve (we were unavailable for one of the days and then there was the weekend). The pool/hot tub was really nice once we could get it up to temperature which was probably at least 5 days after we arrived due to a variety of problems. The pool guy was very helpful. We would not rent this property again because we would't want to risk encountering the same type of problems.

Owner's Response: Owning a home requires upkeep. Homeowners know this! Routine maintenance. Unexpected issues. But here’s what you, a future guest, can expect: 1. IMMEDIATE action to solve issues. You’ll have direct access to my personal cell phone to call or text me at any time. And when I say any time, I mean ANY time. Middle of the night. Early morning. I WILL respond (99% of the time, within 5 minutes). And I will take ACTION to fix it -- ASAP. I’ll get the appropriate service provider out to the house within the hour if possible. If not, within 24 hrs. This fast-action response shows how well I care for the house and keep it in tip-top shape -- instead of letting issues go or wait 1 more month when guests leave. Major things, like the roof, can pose a hazard to you. We don’t want that. Your comfort + safety is paramount to me. 2. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. As you can see, I did my best to find suitable times for the previous guest, work around their schedule, etc. Most importantly, I did everything I could at every turn to compensate for the inconvenience. You have my word that I’ll reimburse you for anything you had to go out of your way to get -- for example, the propane tank for the grill. Any guest should feel comfortable to come visit us again! And now before I wrap this up, I need to tell you something that I wish wasn’t true. Unfortunately it IS true and therefore I have to be honest about it. In a single year 98 out of 100 guests will have an amazing time. They absolutely love everything about the house. The pool. The WONDERFUL kitchen. (See past reviews for yourself.) Our loyal, repeat guests visit us every year since we started renting the house. But you see, in a single year 2 out of 100 guests won’t enjoy it. The unexpected maintenance issues will come up, putting a damper on their stay. Even though those issues may only happen 1 or 2 days out of the whole month they’re here, that 1 or 2 days can totally ruin their whole trip for them. I can’t predict when those unexpected issues happen - if it’ll happen during your stay or not. And some things are way out of my control. But here’s what I’m gonna do. I’ll always, always go above + beyond to fix it. You have my word.

It worked just fine for our needs

We got off to a bit of a rough start because we didn't receive the code for the property but a phone call solved that. When we arrived, there were not enough towels, and the place had not been cleaned very well. I let our host and hostess know and they were very prompt in making things right. After that everything ran smoothly and we had a great time.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately, the house was not up to standards but as soon as we heard, we had our staff out there within 1 hr to fix everything, brought plenty of brand new towels, and threw them in the wash for the guests to use. We refunded the guests the $150 cleaning fee and security deposit despite the sink full of dirty dishes left behind after their stay, which is clearly stated in our Policies and Procedures. Any issue our guests encountered, we made sure to respond with utmost respect and take IMMEDIATE action within minutes with solutions that go above and beyond. We are only human, as well as our staff, and there will be times certain things are overlooked. But our guests can always call or text us ANY TIME, and we will make sure it is taken of ASAP! As much as we go above and beyond in fixing our mistakes, unfortunately, you can't please them all.

Nothing else compares!

I visit Yuma every year for a conference, and have stayed at other vacation rentals in the area before. In fact, there are a few in the foothills not too far from this house that I've previously stayed at before. This house is, by far, the most beautiful, the cleanest, brightest, most comfortable and, if I may, most luxurious and extravagant-feeling. Just WOW. Absolutely NOTHING else compares! Do yourself a favor and don't even book anywhere else. You won't regret it. And the owners are very professional, friendly and easy to work with. They genuinely want to be of service and ensure I enjoyed my stay.

When the description said the kitchen was stocked with everything, they weren't kidding! Not only that, they were professional-grade. They really didn't skimp on the quality of the amenities they offered. Other vacation homes have the necessary items: blankets, knives, etc. That's nice. Everything here, though, is high quality. From the lush towels and pillows to the professional chef tools and dinnerware. There are also thoughtful details throughout the house they added to make it feel cozy and comfortable, like soft, throw blankets, a rocking chair, etc.

The fire pit outside was lovely, the neighborhood was quiet and safe. Though I loved everything, my favorite is the pool! Heated with massaging jets - absolutely heavenly!

Compared to the other vacation rentals I've stayed at, honestly, the rates for this house is a STEAL! I don't care if I have to pay more next year, but this house is my new "MUST-HAVE" for my conference. Hope I can book it again! Thank you for an amazing experience!

The Yuma Foothills is located at the base of a beautiful purple mountain range that has many scenic trails (Telegraph Pass is a local favorite) at various levels of difficulty. This property is walking distance from the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course (the sun shines in Yuma on average of 355 days a year!) and a 15-minute drive from the Colorado River and various lakes offering many forms of fishing and boating activities (including a ferry boat tour of the Colorado showcasing our vast spectrum of local wildlife. Being one of the few desert towns with a river running through, many diverse species claim the Colorado as their home). There are three large Casinos averaging a 30-minute drive from this property, all offering frequent quality entertainment, and the newest Casino (The Q) boasts a five star restaurant and four star hotel- in house! Many new spas are springing up as well as wineries and art galleries in the historic downtown area (20 minute drive).
