Lake access, close to skiing, and hiking make this the perfect getaway for any season. This home has been completely renovated over the last year.
The living room is cozy and is an open area with the kitchen and dining room. Enjoy sitting by a fire in the wood burning stove in the living area.
The home has DirectTV and Wifi availability. During football season you can enjoy the NFL Sunday Ticket and watch any game you want.
Offering 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms this home can easily accommodate a party of 8. There is a large Master Bedroom with a King Bed on the second floor. Also on the second floor is another bedroom with a Queen and a full size bed. The second floor bathroom is a 3/4 bath with a shower stall.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms. One with a full size bed and the other has a Trundle bed that turns into 2 twin size beds. There is also a full bathroom on the first floor with a bathtub.
This home offers Lake Sunapee access with a large dock area. You can swim, fish, suntan, relax and read a book, or watch the boats go by from this great vantage point. There is a launching dock for small watercraft like kayaks and row boats. We enjoy kayaking from this area whenever possible. There are steps into the water making swimming access easy so there is no need to climb rocks to get into the water here.
Mount Sunapee is 4 miles away and the Mountain always has events going on at the base lodge. You can check the calendar of events on their website to see if there is a concert, 5k mudrucker race, lobster bakes, or craftsmen fair going on during your planned stay. In the winter the Mountain offers fantastic skiing with terrain parks, challenging slopes, the new acro bag, and even winter ziplining. In the summer there is also a range of activities available at the Mountain. They offer Ziplining, off road Segway Tours, Frisbee golf, miniature golf, and more.
The views from the dock on Lake Sunapee are amazing and you could walk down and enjoy them anytime. It was an amazing night when we alked down with flashlights and watched all the shooting stars crossing the night sky. With little surrounding light the night sky can be fascinating and the kids absolutely loved seeing it.
The Fells historic home and gardens are very close by and in the summer they are a must see. The home brings you back to earlier times and the gardens are beautiful and have trails for you to hike down to the shores of Lake Sunapee.
If you are a more avid hiker there are trails all around this home that range from easy walks to more challenging climbs. The moderate hike up to sunset hill is enjoyable and can be attempted by anyone. One of the more challenging hikes is the Summit Trail that takes you from the parking lot of the ski mountain to its peak and if you want to extend that hike it connects to a trail that continues on to Kearsarge Mountain.
This home is owned by two couples looking for a place to create memories with their children.
Rick Janotha purchased this house in 2012
This property offered the unique opportunity to own a vacation home that could be used in any season of the year. With Lake Sunapee access and Mount Sunapee close by there is always fun things to do.
The quiet and peace that you find just being at this home and at the same time having many activities to enjoy so close to the home is just amazing.
We stayed for two weeks in the house and had a wonderful time! Upon arrival, the house was very clean and smelled fresh. Linens were provided, which was very nice. Rick was helpful and very responsive through the whole booking process and even during our stay in giving recommendations for hikes and places to eat. It was a family friendly home and we loved the lake!
Solid property conveniently located to both New London and Mt Sunapee
We enjoyed our stay. House was as described. Working with Rick was easy. Thanks
We had a nice time at this home. It was nice a cozy and most important it was close to Mount Sunapee! Rick was easy to work with and very helpful.
Our arrival was a little bumpy- we arrived in a big snowstorm, the drive and walkway had not been shoveled yet, the house was 49 degrees, and a shovel was not to be found. A few phone calls to Rick and the solutions were on their way- access to a shovel and ice melt, the snow was plowed from the driveway and walkway, the house warmed up overnight and TV problems (probably user error) were overcome. The space gave our family a much needed time together, the kitchen was great for cooking, we very much enjoyed the wood stove (like a small fireplace). We were expected to dispose of our trash at the town dump and luckily it was open the afternoon before we departed. The house is across the street from other homes that are on the lake, which we could see from the kitchen/ LR windows. We had a great time and appreciate being able to rent this home.
We had a great time at Rick's house. The house is clean, updated and well equipped. Proximity to the lake and spacious community dock were spectacular. Rick is super nice, very responsive and very helpful. We will definitely rent this property again. Thanks Rick!
