Jason and Joanne Miller are from Lima, OH. We love the Mountains and Live Music. Colorado has A lot of Both. We moved to Estes Park in July of 2013 to follow our dream of owning vacation rentals in The Rocky Mountains. We took this Property which was formerly a B & B and then turned it into what it is TODAY. A Colorado Friendly Property with a lot of BENEFITS. We have a great website to show you additional info concerning The Rustic Acre. It is rusticacre.com. With multiple listings on VRBO, you are sure to find the right one. #504346, 505516, 505517, 511596, 560021, 916948

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Great views of mountains all around us and so close to town it is just awesome. We have been looking at Estes for a while now. This property came up for sale, so we took a family vote. With a 16 yr old daughter and 14 yr old son, I thought that I would have a challenge ahead of me with convincing them. Low and behold, 100% = Let's go to Colorado!
This property previously was The Black Dog Inn Bed & Breakfast. The Millers will be living in the main home and renting out the unattached units around the 1 acre rustic property. We are a very FRIENDLY property. We do not judge by gender race, sexuality, or political views. We all just want to Get Along. This property previously was The Black Dog Inn Bed & Breakfast. The Millers will be living in the main home and renting out the unattached units around the 1 acre rustic property.
Located High above the town of Estes Park, our wooded acre has a commanding view of Lumpy Ridge(a well known rock climbing formation), Mummy Range, and Mt. Olympus. We are only a short 5 minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. The footpath in front of the property connects with the scenic Riverwalk and also the 4 mile path around Lake Estes. This property has Luxury accommodations at affordable rates. We can see clear views of Lumpy Ridge, Twin Owls, Mt Olympus, and even Mummy Mountain. We are only 1/2 mile from town. We love to hike and spend time outdoors in the wonders of Nature. There are literally hundreds of hiking and climbing trails minutes from our front door. Longs Peak, Twin Owls, Mummy Mountain, Twin Sisters, Lilly Mountain, etc.
This cabin is compact, very clean, nicely furnished, and perfect for 2 of us with our Scottie and Westie as well. The queen size bed was very comfortable with high quality sheets and cover. Fireplace added extra warmth when needed. Be aware there is no kitchen, as advertised. However there is a Keurig, microwave and small refrigerator and many great restaurants in and near town. Jason was totally available and very cordial which was evidenced by their care of the properties. We will be returning hopefully in the spring or summer or fall for that matter. Heartily recommended
This suite is exactly as billed by the owners. It is well appointed for 2 people, dog friendly, and very close to town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will likely come back to this property again in the future. The only drawback for us is the location is on a busy road coming into town. That would not stop me from visiting again.
The Rustic Acre is a great place to stay. Very cozy, comfortable, and convenient. We stayed over Christmas with our dogs and loved the jacuzzi and fireplace! Jason was very attentive but not overwhelming. He brought a sheet to cover the couch so our dogs could get on it but then he left us alone. The property is just on the outside of town which was nice because we could get to town easily but not be right in the hustle and bustle. RMNP was close by also! We will be back. Thank you
My husband and I can't say enough about Joanne and the way her and her husband run their business. They are so kind and genuinely care for people. Their property is fantastic, close to everything you would want to do in Estes. We particularly enjoyed that they made lists of places to eat that were their favorites to make it an easy choice. They even have give you a name of a food courier so you can order in and enjoy a lazy night by the fire place.
The highlight was the 50+ elk that came from across the street! It was amazing!
Thank you both so much for the wonderful visit. We will be back!
Firstly, the owners were great with accommodation and responsiveness. Hate to leave a 3 star review but these are the things to note when looking to stay at Mummy Mtn:
The bed is a full, not a queen. This should be front and center in the description of this room. At a minimum for a rental, the bed should be queen and even that is enough to make most guests think twice.
The door to the bathroom, just outside the full bed mind you, is glass. So be prepared to have little privacy for bathroom stops.
There is no control for central air or heat. As a supplemental source of heat there is a gas fireplace with probably a high and low switch on it, but it was not functioning when we were there. Props to the owner for giving us money off our rental price and providing a small space heater that worked really well, but this whole setup is at best 3 star accommodations.
Lastly, the shower is really meant for little people. Including the commode. And the quality at both are less than nice. Literally $125 at Home Depot and a couple hours of time and the toilet and the shower handles and head could've easily been upgraded. But the whole bathroom is really 2 star quality, for a 4 star price.
First off, the place was really well done. I can tell the owners know how to make a place look and feel nice. They did a great job with the space available. The parking was great, the bed was comfortable and the overall place was very nice. But, I did miss having no kitchen. The owner makes if very clear there is no kitchen, so no complaints on that point. I just want people to realize that this place is more similar to a nice hotel room, than a traditional VRBO rental. There are NO cabinets and no counter space to put food, etc. Like a hotel room. But, it does have a nice Jacuzzi tub and a gas fireplace. So, nicer than most hotels. And, the parking and atmosphere is much better than a hotel. You do share some walls with neighbors so there is some noise. The only other real issue with this place is that I could not find a way to control the furnace. The heat was running pretty strong the first night I was there and it was too hot to sleep, but I couldn't find a way to adjust it. I looked everywhere. The next few nights, the temp. was fine. BTW- if you look at Hotel prices in Estes, I found this place to be the same or less and so I do believe this is a much better value and desirable place to stay than a hotel.
we are only 1 mile from the town and four miles from Rocky Mountain National Park. 1000 feet from the bowling alley and a quarter mile from a great restaurant bar and grill called Cables. we have a massage therapist that will come and perform Massages in house. there are many great things to see in Estes Park including elk, deer, coyotes. Locals LOVE Kind Coffee. It is Kind to your Soul.
