About Jason & Akiko
We are an active middle-aged couple from the Bay Area who enjoy the many amazing recreational offerings at Northstar, from the ski slopes in the winter to the golfing, mountain biking, and tennis courts in summer, along with the year-round fitness center.
Jason & Akiko purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Jason & Akiko chose Northstar California Resort
The setting for our cabin is amazing; tall pines surround the cabin which provide a private, peaceful setting to the home. This part of the resort is quiet and away from the bustle of the village, but just minutes away on the free Northstar shuttle that picks up directly at the cabin. When we first saw the cabin in 2013, we immediately saw the potential to open the floor plan, and expand the outdoor living space to bring its beautiful forest setting integral to the home. The floor plan of the home is perfect to accommodate a large family or for families sharing the home as the two large master en-suites downstairs with main living space upstairs provides a perfect balance for family and quiet times. We invite you to visit our cabin and enjoy its peaceful tranquility for some much needed R&R from the everyday grind.
What makes this Cabin unique
Though you are away from home, you would feel very warm and comfortable here. You can enjoy tennis, golf, skiing, ice skating, hiking, bicycling, movies, restaurant, shopping, pool, spa, massage, etc. Northstar is a destination resort with free shuttle to/from the village. Park your car and enjoy the surroundings and all amenities Northstar has to offer.

Perfect for our family!
Beautiful updated house in a great location. The 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths were perfect for our family. The house is at the end of a quiet street with shuttle access to the village. We hope to stay in the same house again next year.
We had a great experience at this house. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking meals after a long day skiing. The shuttle to the village was very easy and timely. The owners were extremely responsive, especially with the challenging weather conditions. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. We hope to be back soon!
Perfect Northstar Stay!
Jason and Akiko have a cozy, clean, and well-appointed home. This feels like you are staying at a friend's home rather than a rental. It was perfect for two small families and had everything we needed. The owners were incredibly responsive with questions pre-visit and during the visit. I definitely recommend this home and look forward to bringing my family back again!
great house in Northstar with easy access to the slopes with the resort shuttle
house is very spacious and comfortable with ample room for 6 adults. great kitchen and sound system (once you figure out how to set it up). it's located 10min from the slope but better use the resort shuttle (on-demand and runs fairly frequently) than drive. all jin all a great place to stay in Northstar.
Super clean, well maintained and updated house in a great location
Loved our stay in Jason and Akiko’s house! It is really clean and uncluttered which we appreciated, and everything functions well since the bathrooms and kitchen are remodeled or updated. Linens and bedding were in great condition. Owners were really responsive. From the upper level family and dining area you can see a lot of the open space (Martis Valley?) behind the opposite houses so you have a nice view and feeling of being in a more remote place, but the Northstar shuttle means you can easily be in the village with access to the slopes and shops/restaurants/skating in 10-15 minutes, without a car.
The house is great for a family or maybe a small group. The downstairs bedrooms each have a king with en-suite bathroom which would provide great privacy for a group that needs that, and the upstairs has a bedroom with two twins and a full bathroom just outside the bedroom door. While the upstairs bath would also function as the closest bath for the common living space, there is a wall that makes the path from the upstairs bedroom to the bathroom not so exposed to the open common area, which is nice. That is - you wouldn’t be emerging in the morning fully on display for everyone eating breakfast or hanging out.
Thanks for a great week!
The house was really nice. We really liked that it was close to Northstar.
NorthStar is an all-season recreation destination with a village packed with restaurants, shopping and ice rink in the winter. The ski resort offers downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding and tubing on the hill. In the summer, the ice rink becomes a popular destination for roller skating and evening concerts. NorthStar is also home to an 18-hole championship golf course, miles of hiking and mountain biking. All activities are fully accessible via the shuttle transportation which picks you up at your door. Also available is the Truckee Trolley, a shuttle providing transportation to Truckee, with plenty of shopping, entertainment, and good restaurants.
