Another Great Stay!
This was our 3rd trip to Frog Call, and it was wonderful as always! We love the beautiful property - the fish pond, the field, the woods with hiking trails and creeks. It is perfection! The cabin is very cozy too, with an incredible Master Bath! Our dog and children had a blast as well.

Always a Joy
This is a special place that words simply can’t describe. This was our second visit and the first with the kids. It was amazing to share this place with them and watch as they explored and learned more about themselves on adventures around the property. We plan on returning again and again.

About the host

Hosted by Jimmie Walters

Host profile image
Andrew and Jimmie divide their time between Duluth, GA, Augusta, and their hideaway in Dahlonega. They are blessed with 2 beautiful daughters and their families, including 5 grandchildren. Originally purchased as a family getaway, Frog Call has been evolving for over 20 years, with the dream of sharing this peaceful, nurturing place come true, like pieces of a puzzle fitting together.

Why they chose this property

The search for a mountain getaway spanned 2 years. Starting off on a personal tour with the Chapman family owners, by the time they forded West Cane Creek in the old jeep, Jimmie had tears in her eyes, and the search was over. The 50 plus acres of lush forest, meadows, streams, the trails, the end of road privacy and bordered by national forest, all creating peaceful seclusion from the outside world. And located just over one hour from Atlanta, and only 6 lovely country miles from the Square.

What makes this property unique

The Cherokee Indians chose the Dahlonega area to settle for good reason. Starting with that wonderful slice of land, and an old caretakers' cottage given new life, the cozy living quarters have cautiously been expanded, allowing nature in, with a minimum of disturbance to the beautiful, natural surroundings, adding the breathtaking treehouse with queen size bed and 30 ft. bridge, and bunkhouse with hand crafted bunk beds.
In every instance the right people have shown up, bringing their gifts to take it to the next level of development. Whether it was funds needed, ideas for sharing, treehouse visions, an amazingly talented architect and team, an organic farming family, a nature loving landscape company, an out of work builder, flower garden gifts, or a husband who knew how to build ponds, what has been created is a totally unique, soul reviving escape. Add to that local individuals who can create a personalized experience for you with their talents and knowledge of the area.
