The rental is the whole upper floor of a raised plantation-style house. There are no shared entrances, and both front and back porches are your private space. The big side yard is also yours to park and play.

The house is in a great neighborhood close to all of Uptown and the French Quarter. (1 mile to Tulane, 1.8 miles to Audubon Park and Zoo with water park, 1.5 to St. Charles streetcar line, and 3 miles to the French Quarter. Less than 5 minutes to the Superdome and New Orleans Arena, 3.7 miles to City Park for boating, mini golf, storyland, sculpture garden . . . )

The house is 2 blocks from a city bus line that goes to the French Quarter.

Go to the norta site, for New Orleans Regional Transit Authority, and look for the Claiborne line.

The house is in a residential neighborhood, but within one mile there are many coffee shops and restaurants.

About half a mile away is the hot, new Freret Street strip with Cure (bar), The Company Burger, High Hat Café, and several other bars and restaurants.

Less than a mile away, on Calhoun, there is a block of restaurants and bars including Ted’s Frostop Diner, The First Cup, Pyramids Café, Bud’s Broiler, and more.

About 1 mile away, are famous restaurants Pascal's Manale and Gautreau's.

1.7 miles away are two of New Orleans best, Upperline and Le Crepe Nanou.

For coffee, there is Village Coffee about 3/4 mile away on Jefferson, and the Rosa F Keller library on Napoleon (.7 miles, nice 10 minute walk) has a great little coffee shop (not open on Sundays).

There are lots of restaurants that deliver to the house including the best sushi in town (Mikimoto), pizza, Mediterranean (Pyramid Café), and plenty more.

Just 2 blocks east, there is a CVS pharmacy with good wine, liquor, beer selections.

Taxi service to the two main tourist areas: to the French Quarter is about $12.37. To St Charles Avenue (streetcar line) and Garden District is about $7.38.
